* .  ♡             there’s a sudden laugh that leaves her.  she doesn’t know why.  maybe it was the loss of blood that was getting to her.  she was pressed up against the tree  -  a hand pressed tightly over her side.  blue eyes lifted  ,  focusing on @ouroborosloop​  ,  before her brows furrowed over her eyes again.  “ help me ? ” a wince crossed her face as she tried to shift up in her spot.  but it was hard to move.  “ you got me into this mess. ” she laughed again.  the pain was too much  -  she’d rather a bullet than whatever she was shot with.

It shouldn’t exist; A five storey deep hole in the middle of St. Peter’s Square that could fit a doppeldecker bus in diameter and then some. It shouldn’t exist. Not just for the inconvienience it caused. Also because it hadn’t been there yesterday. Which, frankly, should be impossible. No damage to the surrounding area. Only a mystery hole in the ground inspiring conspiracy theories around the end of the world and aliens.

DI Sam Tyler didn’t believe in aliens. He believed in science and scientific explanations alone. Which rendered his whole existence a little bit problematic, given that he could not explain who he was. 

Mesmerised by the abyss, the police detective stood there wondering for a long time, before he spotted someone else at the scene he wasn’t familiar with. “Excuse me, DI Tyler,” he flashed his badge as he approached the other, “Are you authorised to be here?”

“I don’t know what your talking about.” Ten had clenched teeth, his lips set in a firm line. “Honestly it would be nice to not be spoken about--so accusatory. I’m the Doctor. Not a lot in this world scares me, after all.” But the object in question was not one he was keen on passing along to just anyone. It was a ticking time bomb of an artifact that many had fought over. He needed to keep it close and find a safe place for it on their own.

Genuine surprise registered itself on his face, followed by puzzlement, which in turn was replaced with a small smile at what was, ironically enough, a rather stupid choice of words on the part of his old friend.

It had been some considerable time since they’d last seen each other - so much so, that their reunion had been a thoroughly joyful one. The pair had since settled down for some mild refreshment and an afternoon of reminiscence, and it had been at this point that the other Time Lord had decided to pose their question.

“Stupid? Not at all - reckless, perhaps, but aren’t the best of us?” His words had a genuine air of kindness to them, the expression on his face warm and welcoming, “Why do you ask?”
