Okok so. Reasoning behind why I chose them for each of the idiots

Firsr thing uhh

Mark - Upright death - transformation, endings, change, transition, letting go, release

Cesar - Upright hanged man - sacrifice, waiting, uncertainty, lack of direction, perspective, contemplation

Adam - Upside down fool - reckless, taken advantage of, inconsideration

Jonah - Upside down the world - lack of closure, lack of achievement, feeling incomplete, emptiness

Ok so!!! Mark ! A big part of his character arc in the au is him surviving his encounter in vol 1 and how he learns to heal and move on from it. Death upright was a p clear choice in that regard, since it's about new beginnings and letting go which! Is exactly what mark is striving to do !! He leaves behind the events of that night and Mandela to find happiness again :]

Ok. Cesar! His is a bit more vague when u look at it, and it kinda comes off negative which at the time he probably did see it that way but it doesn't end negative. Cesar is the hanged man because he chose to sacrifice his disguise and possibly his life to save and protect Mark from another alternate that night. He risked losing everything to save his best friend and little brother with no hesitation, and despite Mark being shocked at first he welcomed his brother into his open arms happily

So. Adam :( he's p fucked up in this au and the upside down fool fits that. He was played as a fool his whole life, told a lie by his so called father. Taken advantage of, raised by the man who killed him and his parents and eventually would kill his future best friend. Adam is reckless and damaged, suffering with the realization his whole life is a lie and nothing he knows is true or real. He is the fool of his story.

Lastly, joner :( sad face 2. Jonah forgot most of his life before his death, only fuzzy vague memories remaining. He has no closure for what he doesn't know happened, and eventually sets into such a heavy form of denial he convinces himself he's not even dead. Then of course, when he does find out the truth all his memories come crashing back and with that and meeting his father again well.. it doesn't go well, as you know
