title: "rencontre avec charles leclerc (meeting with charles leclerc)" source: leblogauto format: interview (french) season: 2009, karting
How did this passion for motorsport come about?
I was five years old, and my father took me to the Brignoles track to see his friend Philippe Bianchi, who suggested I take a minikart ride. I wanted to make it my passion, and my father offered me a kart a few days later.
Can you tell us about your background?
I started in 2005 in a minikart and for my 4th race, I took pole and won the pre-final of the Coupe de France. For the final in Esteban, I was a bit optimistic on the last lap and I had to retire. However, I was PACAC league champion with a result of 18 races, 15 wins and 17 poles.
In 2006, almost everything was the same with 18 races, 14 wins and 17 poles.
In 2007, I started in Minime and in 11 races I obtained 3 victories and 8 podiums.
In 2008, I was Vice Champion of France Minime with 6 victories and 11 podiums.
Finally, in 2009, I got this long-awaited title for my first year as a cadet: Champion of France.
Not too difficult to be champion at 11 years old? and to reconcile motor sport and school?
School is essential and good results are a sine qua non for my practice of karts (imposed by my parents).
That said, going to college required a lot of effort and work to reconcile the two.
As for champion at 11 years old, it was above all necessary to manage having an age difference with my competitors, because in terms of pure driving, I think I was more or less ready.
That said, the level was really raised.
How did you experience the 2009 season, with your many successes?
A dream from which I have not yet woken up, Champion of France with formidable opponents (Anthoine, Valentin, Benjamin....etc), Champion of the Rhône Alpes League by winning all the victories, leading the Trophée Murois and Valentinois , what more can be said !
Your objectives for the end of the 2009 season?
Replace Massa at Ferrari!!!! No, I'm kidding, winning the final of the Bridgestone Cup, and starting to train in KF3 for next season.
Do you have any plans for next season?
The dream will be to join a factory team in KF3, but for that you will have to work hard and find sponsors.
Charles Leclerc in 10 years?
Behind a steering wheel with a seat in the middle if possible!

My Life Journey
By: Aldred Santiago
I am Aldred Santiago, 17 years old, I was born on August 25 2006 in Pacac Guimba Hospital and I live now in Brgy. Baybayabas Talugtug Nueva Ecija. I am the eldest of our three siblings. My father's name is Alvin Santiago and my mother's name is Teresita Santiago. My father's job is a farmer and sometimes a driver and my mother's job is a storekeeper.
When I was born, I had a sick in stomach and had to be operated on but it was not allowed because I was still too young so they waited for me to grow up before operating. When I entered grade 1, I was sent to manila for surgery with my grandmother. It took three operations for me to fully recover. I spent a year in Manila just to fully recovered. When I finish the surgery we immediately went home for us to recover. When I was well and without pain, my studies continued without any worries.
Now that I'm a senior high and about to graduate, I thank God for giving me another life. Now I'm about to graduate senior high and go to college. After college I will look for a job to be successful in life.

Sagay advocates substantive appointment for Magu
Tumblr media
The Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Itse Sagay, has advocated for the appointment of the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, as substantive chairman of the commission. Sagay endorsed Magu on Wednesday when he led members of the PACAC on a visit to the EFCC boss at the commission’s headquarters. While declaring that Magu deserves appointment as the substantive chairman of the EFCC, Sagay said “When something is good; when you see high quality, merit, dedication, and somebody who is courageous in the fight against corruption, I think it will be stupid to say you are looking for something outside. “This is not a turn-by-turn thing. It is a thing of merit. You must work for it and achieve it. In our view, the Acting Chairman deserves everything including his being given a substantive appointment. It is true one man cannot make a forest, but it takes a good man, a man of quality to bring out the best in any organisation, and that is what he represents – an uncompromising person. “As far as corruption is concerned, no one has the courage in this country to offer him a bribe, because he or she knows the result will be a disaster. We are solidly behind Magu and the EFCC.” While expressing support to the commission, Sagay stated that “EFCC deserves continued support so that it will know it is being appreciated. You cannot pick up a newspaper any day without you reading EFCC’s achievement in terms of charges, forfeiture of assets, convictions, among others. The ICPC has done very well too, but there is no question that EFCC has been outstanding.” Speaking further, Sagay expressed optimism that the 9th Senate will do the right thing by confirming Magu when his name is forwarded to it by President Buhari, saying there would not be any reason for the legislators to reject Magu’s confirmation. Magu, who thanked the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration for giving him every support he required to achieve the successes recorded by the EFCC, assured the PACAC delegation that he and the EFCC team will continue to give their utmost in the fight against corruption. “I assure you that so far as I am here as the chairman of the Commission, I will continue to do the right thing, and we will ensure the things we do are within the ambit of the law. We are trained to kill corruption,” Magu stated. Read the full article

Palestinian and US officials meet to discuss bi-lateral relations
As the United States transitions to a new administration so too does the foreign policy stance that comes with it. Under the Biden administration reports have emerged that senior White House officials have begun talks with PACAC officials to discuss the political, regional, and developing events in the region with plans to remain in contact. The administrations move comes on the footsteps of a nearly four year silence between Washington and Ramallah. The US embassy moving to Israel being the main reason for the silence between the two parties. With bilateral discussions under way an opportunity is created to bring all parties back to the table regarding peace talks, a two state solution, and an equitable border among other central issues facing the region. The recognition of Palestinians through these communications is a slow first step at healing the broken relationship between US and Palestine, but following the relocation of the embassy, dismissal of the Palestinian liberation organization, and cuts in aid to the Palestinian authority there is much work on the ground to be done. Yet Palestinians have remained interested in reaching out to the United States creating an opening for the US to re-enter the world stage as a leader of democracy, advocate for displaced and disenfranchised people, and ally to two grieving states. As regional alliances have shifted and Israel continues to chip away at Palestinian statehood the US role in negotiations will be pivotal.
