During the Madiga marriage, they set aside one thambūlam (betel leaf & areca nut) for the Mutrācha, in some places, extends the honour to the Golla also. At the marriage ceremonies of the Pūni Gollas, an elaborate costly form of Ganga worship is performed, in connection with which it is the Mādiga musicians, called Mādiga Pambala vandlu, who draw the designs in colour-powders on the floor. The elaborate marriage ceremonial conforms to the Telugu type, but some of the details may be recorded. On the muhūrtham (wedding) day, a ceremony called pradhānam (chief thing) is performed. A sheep is sacrificed to the marriage (araveni) pots. The sacrificer dips his hands in the blood of the animal, and impresses the blood on his palms on the wall near the door leading to the room in which the pots are kept. The bridegroom’s party bring betel nuts, limes, a golden bead, a bonthu (unbleached cotton thread), rice, and turmeric paste. The maternal uncle of the bride gives five betel leaves and areca nuts to the Pedda Mādiga, and, putting the bonthu round the bride’s neck, ties the golden bead thereon. The ceremony concludes with the distribution of pān-supāri in the following order: ancestors, Mutrāchas, Gollas, Mādigas, the Pedda Mādiga, and the assembled guests. The Pedda Mādiga has to lift, at one try, a tray containing cocoanuts and betel with his right hand. In his hand he holds a knife, of which the blade is passed over the forefinger, beneath the middle and fourth fingers, and over the little finger. This ceremony is called thonuku thambūlam, or betel and nuts likely to be spilt on the floor. The bridegroom, after a bath, proceeds to the temple, where cloths, the bāshingam, bottu (marriage badge), etc., are placed in front of the god, and then taken to a jammi tree, which is worshipped. The bottu is usually a disc of gold, but, if the family is hard-up, or in cases of widow remarriage, a bit of turmeric or folded mango leaf serves as a substitute for it. WE ALMOST FIGHT!! 😭 akala mo may kausap ako sa call kasi nag rereconnecting yung whatsapp. Kaya nga I sent you a screenshot of my messenger eh. Agad agad after tumawag ni Henry. Kasi wala talaga akong kausap na iba. And I was busy making myself busy with my laundry and my breakfast. Tsaka kumakain ako ng time na inaaccuse mo ko na may kausap na iba. Buti na lang di ka masyado tinoyo. Kasi jusko. Di ko alam gagawin ko. Buti na lang din kamo at Hindi ako pumasok today. Kasi muntik na naman mo akong awayin dahil sa trip. Kasi aalis kami ng 8PM pala. Dapat love, 10PM. Ewan ko sakanila bat inadjust tapos hindi ko talaga alam ano mga details. Ayon ang pinaka ayaw ko. Yung d ko alam yung details. Kasi d ko alam anong dadalhin kong damit HAHAHAH tapos gulat ka kasi 2 nights akong wala 😭 i dont know if makakatulog ba ako ng maayos huhuhu for sure ikaw din hindi. But don’t be bothered so much, okay? I’ll behave so much! And will call you. But don’t make me laugh. Isipin na lang ilang oras ako may kausap sa phone during the travel. Hahaha. Gustong gusto kita i grab at i hug nang mahigpit. kaya gusto ko din gumawa ng chores with you kasi naaalala ko kung gano ka kabango non kahit pawis ka. At kahit pagod at may ginagawa ka. Nalalaman na lamang natin ang kanilang mga pangalan kung sila’y wala na. Subalit habang nabubuhay, sila’y walang mga pangalan, walang mukhang madaling tandaan. Hindi sila naiimbitang magtalumpati sa liwasan, hindi inilalathala ng pahayagan ang kanilang mga larawan, at kung makasalubong mo sa daan, kahit anong pamada ang gamit nila ay hindi ka mapapalingon.

Sila’y walang mga pangalan, walang mukhang madaling tandaan, subalit sila ang nagpapatakbo sa motor ng kilusang mapagpalaya. Sila ang mga paang nagmartsa sa mga kalsadang nababakuran ng alambreng tinik, sila ang mga bisig na nagwagayway ng mga bandila ng pakikibaka sa harap ng batuta at bala, sila ang mga kamaong nagtaas ng nagliliyab na sulo sa madilim na gabi ng diktadura, sila ang mga tinig na sumigaw ng “Katarungan!
