been a while, i was busy with stuff, mostly college. got some time though so here's five more sketches of designs for Paper Tenko! (i did two for yuyuko since i wanted her to do the cute ghost float)

next sprites on the list is kaguya and yuuka! i've always loved the straw hat and guitar that some people give her in fanarts so i put it in here as well

(also i couldn't resist making kaguya do the tasukete eirin pose)

made some more designs! except for nitori, all of these are inspired by various touhou PVs

i had bunnies on the mind so here's a few of em for the next sprites only two characters left for the eientei chapter after this, though i might pivot to the other chapters first (either sunflower fields/underground/netherworld) cause i've been doing a lot of eientei so far

been a while, here's some progress on the coding end

added overworld partners (no functionality yet, just the follow sprite)

made the "grounded" partners that don't float, be able to follow you around on the ground and jump whenever you do

switched from 3D gameplay to 2.5D to scale down on the scope a little while still keeping the cool 3D environments and some mechanics (seen in the video)

added the hammer, fixed up the animations code so it's less cluttered and easier to add to

shadows now properly follow the ground angle

been a while since last Paper Tenko update. i made a buncha new enemies! decided to sketch some of em today

did three more designs for paper tenko, this time it's the prismriver sisters! was very inspired for this one (ancient touhou reference).

(still need to do raiko's design too when i can)

some updates to the battle system! now it's in a 3D environment (with 3D camera movements and all). also, polished up the menus/submenus and the jump attack animation. also you can swap to your partner as well

(icons and attack names/animations are placeholders, i wanna do more than just jumping and hammering)

and as for paper tenko, here's where i got to with it so far. going to continue it again once i get suwa blaster done! (or if i get burnt out on it, hopefully not that)

continued updating, now the dialogue system works in the overworld and the camera/specified objects can have set events for making cutscenes easier to do, like making the camera point towards a specific position, or making an object move around during dialogue

testing out a spinning room effect after being inspired by Split Mushroom's stage from Megaman X4

having fun with more attack animations and some visual effects (screenshakes, brightness, trails, etc), now there's two new moves! haven't added in the button indicators yet, but it's pretty fun to play so far. planning to have the moves be inspired by tenshi's moveset in AoCF and SWR

i think i completely forgot to post this video here (it's from October), it's a preview of the Tenko battle system actually coded in

things you can do: - action commands! (very basic jump timing) - camera movement and zoom - jump arc and height based on enemy position/size (enemy is randomized for testing) - proper UI placement (rotating menus too now) - submenus - sound effects

also, some sketches. tewi is chapter 2 (bamboo forest + eientei)
