the thing about making this au w/ minecraft mechanics in mind is that i have to actually figure out how the game works on a deeper level. which i’m down to do, i like piecing together lore n stuff, it’s just time consuming business. i’m in the mood to share that process a bit so here are a few random notes i’ve made on the matter:

- the green text n blue text from the poem you read after beating the game are the major deities known as “the primordial ones.” i’ve debated making them steve n alex but ultimately decided to have them be separate entities

- lightning, for some reason, has transformative properties- this is evident when certain mobs are struck by lightning (creepers become charged creepers, villagers become witches, pigs become zombie piglins)

- speaking of pigs, they seem to be one of the most important mobs in the game, given that pig-like creatures spawn in 2/3 realms, there’s the aforementioned lightning based transformation, n a failed pig model was the basis for the design of the creeper

- the language found in enchanting tables is known as standard galactic, which for me, brings up the question: why is it called standard galactic? since it’s from the enchantment table n presumably is what enchanted books are written in (which can be found in strongholds, meaning it has to be an old inherently magical language) was there something that came even before it that wasn’t the standard? n how did it Become the standard?

- the reason why hardcore worlds are one life only is due to a certain instability in the code of said worlds that make it so a player can’t fully access them again upon dying within them. the player doesn’t cease to exist entirely once dead, they can move on to other worlds, they just can’t access that one anymore

- seeing as how ravagers have faces eerily similar to illagers / villagers, their species started out as either volunteer illagers or captured villagers that were then transformed into arcane beasts by evoker magic (like how allays are turned into vexes). whether or not they maintained sentience is up for debate
