i love how season two shows how everyone has PTSD and trauma from the events of s1. will's is obviously focused on throughout the season, but the scene where hopper is in the pumpkin patch and he thinks there is a demogorgon in the plants, but its just a crow. the way mike calls el everyday because he felt so guilty for letting her die when he promised she could lead a normal life with his family. lucas looking genuinely terrified when max started talking about el too loudly in the arcade. steve still having his nailbat in his trunk. el having meltdowns when hopper yells at her, plus her flashbacks throughout the season. joyce being overprotective of will because the last time she let him out of her sight he almost died + her freaking out when the phone rings.

the contrast of papa forcing el into the bath and joyce helping her into the bath, even telling her she doesn't have to get in, is so refreshing. el must have felt so loved in that moment.
