More spec bio thoughts! As highly derived plants, Patapons wouldn’t have blood typical to that of an animal- but instead sap.

In my spec bio hcs, Patapons despite being a non-reproductive worker caste can actually flower and produce a seed, but the seed will always grow into a Mater tree (the reproductive caste) and the pon will usually die because of the toll it takes on their body.

They typically will only flower in times of extreme stress and in the absence of a Mater- conditions which Meden has surely been through thanks to being one of the oldest remaining members of the tribe. So, the side of her face is all scarred up from having to pluck and trim away flowers so they don’t go to seed!
