(In which I am Really Bad at patterning.) So I decided a few days ago to make a Phantom mask for one of my @buildabear friends. (This particular bear started out as an approximation of the Eighth Doctor--though I never did get around to making him a green velvet frock coat--& has been Captain Ameribear for a while now.) * * I watched the 1990 Phantom of the Opera miniseries for the first time last year & fell in love with it (Cherik 💖), so I'm attempting to make this version of the mask. (Also, my bear is the perfect colour.) * * I have a vaguely mask-shaped pattern (which took me an embarrassingly long time to make especially as it's basically just a half-circle) & I used it to cut out some muslin (which I think I'll be using for the actual mask), but now I can't quite figure out how to make it fit better around the bear nose (this Erik will have a nose!) or how to cut out the eye holes. (Googling teddy bear-sized Phantom masks was not helpful at all.)
