y/n arrived at prema with her heart racing. it was the first time she went after signing her contract, and she was extremely excited about it. she was already part of ferrari drivers academy, so when she got contacted to be part of prema she thought life couldn't be better. of course, she was wrong, because when a certain blond haired estonian introduced himself, her world went quiet.
she was walking next to ollie, who had offered to show her around and take her where she had to meet rene to start her first official day as a prema racing driver when she crossed looks with non other than paul aron.
of course, she had met him before, although they had never spoken more than a few congratulations and shared celebrations on the podium. it was strange that she never went up to him, as she was normally very extroverted, but he intimidated her. not in a scary kind of way, but in a you-have-to-go-talk-to-your-crush kind of way.
It might sound silly to say she didn't talk to him because she had a massive crush on him, but even when you're 17, crushes can be scary. thankfully, rene took her to the rest of the drivers and made everyone introduce themselves, even if she already knew most of them.
when paul introduced himself, everything seemed to go quiet. it was just the two of them, soaking in each other's presence before they were interrupted by a loud arthur, who hugged her side and took her away, leaving paul to roll his eyes and silently wish that he’d gotten to talk to her a little bit more.
later that day, paul finally found her alone. she was sitting in one of the cafeteria tables, going over what seemed to be data. he decided to approach her, he wasn't going to waste this alone moment with her.
“hey, want some coffee?” he offered, as he was making some for himself. she seemed surprised he was talking to her and her cheeks went slightly red “yeah, that would be great” he went on to make the coffee, and she couldn't help but stare.
“here, hot coffee for a hot girl” he winked at her as if he hadn't just internally cringed at his own words, but the way she smiled made him feel a little bit better. “thank you” she sipped on the coffee only to be met by a stinging feeling on her throat “fucking hell, its really hot” she complained, making him chuckle lightly “would it be too cheesy to say not as hot as you?” he jockingly asked “definitely.” they both laughed at her answer as she looked down at what she was doing.
“you reviewing data?” he didn't want to bother her, but again he wasn't about to waste the moment. “yeah, just the last race.” she pointed at a set of data “i should have breaked earlier here” she rubbed her eyes frustratingly “hey, you still won” he nudged her softly, trying to cheer her up “but i could have done better” she subconsciously pouted “but you did great nonetheless” paul understood her, he also pushed himself to be better, sometimes too much.
“you're right, thanks love” his heart skipped a bit. he knew she hadn't called him that on purpose, but how the word sounded with her pretty voice had a certain grip on him, even more when directed at him. “you're welcome, ilus” (beautiful)
