Biography;

Olivia is the second Rivera child, she was born and raised in Maryland a child of immigrant parents from Brazil

Her family is tight-knit, although sometimes her and mother would butt heads

Olivia knows some Portuguese, in hopes to make the kids fit in her parents focused on them all knowing English.

Liv has two brothers, one older and one younger, she is fairly close with her big brother and babies the hell out of her younger brother

Liv struggled a bit grades wise in high school, she would work hard but end up just scraping by with B’s. It felt disappointing  and she couldn’t help comparing herself with others and wondering what the hell she wasn’t doing right. She eventually just accepted she was just average in this department and joined the cheerleading squad.

She was fairly popular in high school due to cheering, but always felt like she was watching her life rather then living it. It was a lot of detachment and uncertainty in who she was, like any high schooler but it sometimes went further then that

Liv struggled with depression but if you asked anyone they could never tell, she became very good at hiding her emotions in public. Smiling and making sure everyone thought she was just happy go lucky Liv.

When it came that treacherous time to pick what you wanted to do with life, there was more inner questions of what she would be good at. So she did what any unsure high schooler did- she majored in psych. Ensuring her parents there was a lot she could do with a psych degree, even she did not fully believe it herself

Liv got a full ride scholarship to Portland State for cheerleading.

Moving basically across the country was very tough for the girl, being away from her family. Although she would visit and stuff, every time she left it was harder and harder for her to adjust back to Portland life.

Liv struggled throughout her first year in a new city, making new friends, and trying to find her place. It was when her first year wrapped up and she was working a summer job that she figured out what she wanted to do. It was an incident with a high school girl getting ditched in a change room with all her clothes taken by her “friends”. Talking to the girl and comforting her before her parents came and got her was when Liv figured out she wanted to help people.

She had always been told she was a good listener, sometimes harsh when feedback was requested, but still a good person to go to for help.

Liv’s main goal after that was deciding if she would be better placed as a teacher or something else. She wanted to work with kids, and teaching seemed like the obvious options but taking a career test she found counselling as an option. It had the right amount of interaction with youth without having to drag home papers to mark

Liv is a new guidance counsellor at the Newburg High School, she thinks she’s doing well but is still very insecure of whether or not she is getting though to the kids.

though she’s adopted, nicole has never had a desire to find her biological parents. the davis’ are her parents and they’re all she’ll ever need.

growing up, she always knew she was adopted even before she knew what adoption was. it wasn’t a secret in her household. her parents wanted to be as transparent with her as possible.

she always had two birthdays. the day she was born and the day she was officially adopted. she thought this was something for everyone and was very surprised to find out it wasn’t. it’s still something her family does.

an eternal quitter. she never follows through on anything she starts. it’s her worst habit.

she’s absolutely addicted to mcdonald’s chicken nuggets. has it at least once a day.

she can’t cook for shit. seriously, she tried to boil water for pasta once and forgot about it, the water evaporated and her apartment was filled with smoke.

she’s back home after her father suffered a near fatal stroke. he was in a coma for a few weeks and he has to learn to do everything all over again. it’s really hard for her to remain happy-go-lucky but she’s really trying.

she decided to move from portland shortly after returning from a road trip she took with her then girlfriend. after experiencing the freedom of being on the road and not being stuck anywhere, she decided regular life wasn’t for her anymore. she broke up with her girlfriend and drove off.

What was your characters home environment like growing up?

Julian’s home environment was very different from most people. When he was an infant he was adopted by a young couple. They were unable to conceive a child of their own and figured adoption was the best route for them. When Julian was an infant he struggled hearing. It was apparent in the things that he’d do like, never being startled by loud sounds or never really responding to his parents voice. Julian’s parents just shrugged it off, and didn’t think they should look into this. They were in the mindset of my child could never… Eventually when they realized Julian wasn’t listening well, they both claimed it was a behavior issue, and decided they couldn’t handle it. So, they rehomed him.

Julian was only two at this time of being rehomed. The adoption agency sent him to live with his two fathers. They were aware that Julian had behavioral issues, and they were prepared to help him. All his fathers wanted was to give him was the best possible home life. When they took Julian to the doctors that’s when they noticed it was his hearing wasn’t where it should be. While Julian was able to complete certain milestones for a two year old, he wasn’t in the percentile he should be.

After that visit it was then he started learning asl. It was then that they realized Julian didn’t have any behavior problems, he was deaf. Julian was communicating with his family, and always had a lot on his mind.

What is your character passionate about?

When Julian was in high school he experimented with photoshop. He was using it for an art class. Ever since then he’s been addicted to using photoshop and working on his skills. Which is why he has a side job, which is doing graphic design. Julian really loves it and sometimes wonders if he should make this his full time job.

Eevee has 5 other siblings.

4 of them are alive.

when Eevee was 15 she’d just gotten season 1st ( and eventually only ) season of her Disney show renewed and she had a stalker. on her 16th birthday, the stalker snuck into her sweet 16, cornered her when she and her older, brother Elias were alone, stabbed Elias, and kidnapped Eevee. Elias was rushed to the hospital when they found him but died shortly after.  They found Eevee, recovered her from the stalker unharmed, but when she asked about Elias... shortly after Eevee sunk deeper into her depression, and also suffered from survivors’ guilt and eventually had to stay in a mental hospital and was released a year later, a few days after her 17th birthday. being in the real world was hard for her and in a few weeks time, became legally emancipated from her parents because her father had taken control of monitoring her finances, her decisions, and became too controlling of her schedule and time out of his concern for her and her mother acted like none of it happened and expected Eevee to pick up where she left off and to get more jobs and keep working. It was an environment detrimental to her health and sanity so she had to get out of that and got her own place and moved away from her parents and unfortunately, her twin sister and younger brother.

Took a break from acting to finish high school.

Tariq grew up in a foster home, and in those years he came to only be able to rely on three things: his nana (the woman who raised him and ran the group home), computers, and technology.

Tariq is a tech genius, he can build almost anything within the laws of science as long as he has ample time to do it in and a very skilled hacker. So skilled in fact he used his hacking skills to:

at 17 he hacked into a major bank in Iceland after his nana suffered from a fall and used the money to pay for her medical bills. He’s never allowed to go to Iceland.

Was “transferred” out of MIT to Columbia after getting caught accepting money in exchange for hacking into the school's database and changing their grades. The reason they agreed to transfer him instead of any worse consequences was to avoid the PR nightmare of a 19-year-old being able to hack their system.

At Columbia, he gave up hacking and technology to make his Nana proud and decided to become a Law Major. Eventually, he passed the bar and became a lawyer and was actually pretty damn good at it and he paid the bills for his nana, but a few years in and the justice system was definitely not feeding his soul and then one thing led to another and he was back in the technology game and was working on an app that would connect people to one another. 

Eventually, he moved to Portland where that app came to fruition. He sold it for an obscene amount of money and a nondisclosure agreement that hides his identity as the creator to a tech start-up and now The Portlandian Exclusive is on the phone of every Portland resident. 

While he bought an old run-down home in Goose Hollow, tore it down and on top of it built himself a bigger than average and technologically savvy tiny house fitting of his minimalist, survivalist nature. 

Tariq is not the easiest person to get to know. He has a wall up. Doesn’t trust anyone, least of all the government. He’s suspicious of most people. Not very social and when he is social he’s very skillfully self-serving and manipulative. He can turn on the charm and charisma when he has to, but outside of that he’s a very no-nonsense- Ron Swanson type of guy where his privacy is his business, and he’s very handy. There’s a sweet, clumsy, humorous, loyal guy deep, deep down inside of him it just takes a long time to break down those walls.

growing up he was exposed to;

Xander grew up in a two-parent household. His parents have been married for over 35 years. His father worked for sanitation, while his mother was a nurse. They were a middle class working family that instilled in their son the principle of working hard for what you want and living within your means. He wasn’t spoiled but was provided for. Any time he wanted something, his parents made him work for it. That work can include mowing the lawns, walking the dog, or anything that their neighbor may have needed help with. He got paid for his work, and if he didn’t meet his goal, his parents would cover half because they saw how hard he was working.

Xander was born the oldest of three. He has two younger sisters, Alana and Naomi, that he is very protective of.  They are all close. He is three years older than Alana and 5 years older than Naomi, and though that was a big deal to him growing up, it’s not as adults. Xander works as a middle school math teacher and he loves it. He likes motivating and making a difference in kids especially those that come from lower-income neighborhoods. Hey ! I haven’t been in an tumblr roleplay for about year or two, so I’m still educating myself on how to maneuver the dashboard since tumblr completely changed its ui and xkit is still on the mend. Grew up in Hillsborough, North Carolina.

Loves loves loves his family. Family is everything for him, completely and utterly. He chats with his grandparents every day as well as his parents and some of his siblings. Part of him misses living closer to them but ultimately he loves living in Portland.

Moved to Portland to get a fresh start and some distance. He has been grieving/mourning his daughter’s death for the past seventeen years and just needed to get out of North Carolina completely  in order to heal. Due to what happened and to cope, he is an alcoholic, functional to be exact. Luke is in denial about his problem since he keeps fit and makes sure to partake in it privately so he doesn’t act like a fool. 

He very much misses his ex-wife big time, and still kind of isn’t over her because of not only everything they’ve been through, but he loves her, so...no real development in the romantic area in his life. 

Although he’s been living in Portland for the past three years, he has pretty much just kept to himself except for very recently where he has been socializing a bit more. Instead of going to work and going straight home, Luke takes in the sights and actually hangs out with his work buddies and has made a few new friends along the way.

In addition to his job as a financial advisor, he volunteers at a youth outreach center. He’s also a youth pastor at a local church, and helps coach a soccer team his niece is on.

If he’s not at home, working, doing volunteer work, or anything else really, he’s hanging with his sister. He loves his sister so much, they’re best friends, and they’re always watching some reality show she picked or he’s doing tiktok dances and challenges with his 11 year old niece. He gets roped into their girly nights so he can set up the string lights and put on the movie projector, but he ends up staying and puts on a face mask with them because its fun.

He can’t cook at all. He’s always ordering take out or making a quick meal like mac n cheese. He has some things in his fridge but ya know, not everything.

On his day to day he’s very chill and can be quiet around people he doesn’t necessarily know, but once you know him he is the world’s biggest goofball

Family Background

Daniel Fletcher their biological father was, in the 1st Battalion, 1st Marines. It is something that he will always be proud of, but it really wrecked who he was mentally. His platoon was attacked during the Persian Gulf War in the 1990s. Daniel saved three people from the whole thing, but watched the rest of his soldiers die. Despite coming out of this as a war hero, he lived with many demons. This altered the life of Clementine the most. He was too shellshocked when he returned from war to ever be excited about their birth. His PTSD caused him to verbally lash out at Clementine. Which is one of the reasons why they ran away. 

Alana Fletcher their mother was, a very smart women who worked as a secretary for a housing company. Daniel was her high school sweetheart and they always had wanted a child. So when she did become pregnant it was so exciting for them, but then Daniel was sent back to war again. This left Alana alone with the baby bump that would soon become Clementine. Since the bump was that she could talk to, they became great talking pals. Sadly right as Clementine came into the world, Daniel seemed to lose a lot of his suddenly. At first she didn’t let her husband get away with the verbal abuse. Some things he could say to Clem and then there were times where he drew the line. Then when she lost her job due to the house market crash, she gave up on trying.

Collin Green their pretty much adoptive father, works with his own non-profit that helps underprivileged people in Portland. He found her when she had run away from home at the age of fifteen. Collin is also a veteran and was very close to her biological father Daniel. Unlike Daniel, Collin was able to pull himself out of the deep parts of PTSD. He still suffers from it, but with therapy and later Clementine he realized that it was okay to suffer from a mental illness. It gave him the idea for his non-profit and changed his life.
