Pearlrose + Defying Gravity (Wicked)

First prompt for Pearlrose week; Musicals! 

Even though both characters don’t exactly fit Rose and Pearl, I always thought Defying Gravity was a perfect song for them. I would have liked to do something more elaborated but most of my markers ran out of ink and I’m having a little artblock at the moment, so it’s harder for me to draw right now :( 

For a moment, I thought of dressing them as Glinda and Elphaba, but I stuck to the original designs in the end. So, have a little sketch I did of Pearl and Rose following that first idea. Garnet is more than happy to help them dress up for their cosplays D:

Pearlrose week 2020!! Day 1 : musicals

I know its not really day 1 anymore but I didnt really feel inspired by the other prompts.

I dont draw rose often so I hope this looks right!

Pearlrose Week Day 1 - Musicals

Honestly I’m not super into musicals (don’t get me wrong, I enjoy them, but my appreciation tends to end there!) I do often think of Disney when I think of musicals, and drawing Pearl and Rose as mermaids just seemed super fun, so enjoy my art inspired by The Little Mermaid :)

When I saw the prompt list for PearlRose week prompt “Fusing...a lot” I instantly thought of the fusion dance. And just wanted Pearl to be cherished and held. Every fusion dance would have been a chance for Rose to adore Pearl, hoping that each time how much she loved Pearl would be more clear. I imagine Pearl laughing and giggling as she’s held and twirled. Rainbow Quartz for them, is a chance to be surrounding by love, even if they can’t agree on everything (Rose is haunted by her choices and Pearl has low self esteem) they just know that they are so full of care and affection for each other. 

(On a side note, Rainbow Quartz 2.0 is like going on a wild adventure with your mom and your mom just wants the best for you and you just go ‘oh gosh mom please’ but you love your mom even if she’s embarrassing, no wonder 2.0 is such a happy fusion, a different kind of love and care but still just as lovely and powerful.)

Pearlrose week prompt 2: Bold gesture!

It may be a sweet little gesture, but for Homeworld, this is probably considered bold. I would have liked to make it in colour, but I’ve been busy with classwork all day, so all I could do was this little sketch :( Hope you still like it though!
