If I had a nickel for every time I’ve encountered people on Tumblr discussing Tolkien’s WWI experiences and the obvious influence they had on his work and responding with, “Oh but you hate allegory? Oh but your books aren’t allegories? Checkmate jirt” then I would have way too many nickels. All of you are SO annoying. Read the original quote.
