The Supreme Guide to Maintaining a Lawn - Tips for having an overgrown green yard for individuals residing in Aurora, Illinois
Having a well-maintained lawn is something that every homeowner takes great pride in. Truly this is because it increases your property’s value, enhances its beauty, and creates an amazing place for enjoying some outdoor activities. As a homeowner residing in Aurora, Illinois or nearby places such as Naperville, Batavia, Bolingbrook, etc., you need to combine good maintenance practices with proper information along with Expert Lawn Care Services in Aurora so that they can keep off from drying up.
Understanding Your Lawn’s Needs
Before you start caring for your lawn, it is important to know what your particular turf needs. Where you live, the kind of grass grown there and what season it is all play a big role in deciding what is best for taking care of this grass. Your lawn care schedule should vary depending on the climatic conditions in Aurora and bordering places like Sugar Grove, Plainfield or Yorkville which are known for their diverse seasonal patterns.
Uniformity in Lawn Maintenance An essential element of sustaining a yard is cutting grass; nevertheless, it involves more than simply trimming. It involves adhering to prescribed mowing procedures:
Selecting a Mower Height That Is Just Right: The mower blades must be kept sharp and adjusted to the correct height so as not to buzz the yard thus putting strain on the grass.
Mower Frequency:  It is important for you to frequently mow your lawn, but ensure that you do not shear more than one-third of the grass at a time. Hence, if the lawn is mowed too much it may be weakened thereby becoming less durable.
Tumblr media
Grassy Cycling: You can reduce your fertilizer input by letting the grass clipping enter back into the ground where they will decay and nourish it again with essential minerals
Fertilization and Soil Health
Fertilization is necessary for maintaining a healthy and green backyard. It is necessary for residents in North Aurora, Montgomery and Oswego, Illinois to test their soils since they have different types of soils. The application of an appropriate fertilizer will promote growth in your lawn because it is timely and balanced.
Spring and Fall Fertilization: If you want your turf to grow well, do it at once, during early spring or late summer (fall). Fertilizing The Greenery In Spring Favors Development Following Its Inactivity In Winter, While In Autumn It Helps Get Rid Of Nutrients.
Organic Options: It is necessary that one thinks about organic fertilizers; which better the ground’s composition steadily while minimizing chances of accumulation of harmful chemicals.
Watering Your Lawn
Watering well is of utmost importance, particularly in Aurora and Naperville during hot summer days. Both too little or too much water can be a disaster for your turf.
Deep Watering To encourage deep roots in your lawn, you have to do less frequent but more thorough watering. As a result, such grass can withstand drought better.
Watering Program: If you water your garden at dawn, evaporation will be reduced while the grass bristles will be exposed to air throughout the day hence inhibiting fungal growth.
Weed and Pest Control
Without proper management, grasses may soon be outdone by these undesired organisms. Areas such as Sugar Grove, Warrenville, and Geneva need regular weed treatments since their lawns often answer to invasion by them. Depending on what we want; during early spring pre-emergent herbicides should be used to prevent weeds from growing.
Integrated Pest Management For pest control without threatening the environment or other useful insects; use environmentally friendly ways of managing pests..

Funds race out of CBOT corn and soy shorts as weather worries build -Braun NAPERVILLE, Illinois, May 12 (Reuters) - Speculators furiously pitched short positions in Chicago corn and soybeans last week just after a big short squeeze in wheat, as pests raid Argentina’s corn crop and rains devastate soybeans in southern Brazil. Wet weather also slowed the pace of U.S. planting during what is normally the most active period for field work, but top wheat exporter Russia’s main growing region remains concerningly dry. In the week ended May 7, money managers slashed their net short position in CBOT corn futures and options to 102,513 contracts from 218,040 a week earlier, establishing their least bearish corn view since October. That represented funds’ largest weekly round of net buying in corn since May 2019, and was substantially larger than any weekly buying seen during last summer’s U.S. drought scare. The week’s short covering was the heaviest since June 2019, but money managers added more than 26,000 gross corn longs, the most since June 2023 and their fourth consecutive week adding longs. Most-active CBOT corn futures Cv1 rose 4.5% during the week ended May 7, but most-active soybeans Sv1 jumped more than 7% and CBOT soybean meal SMv1 surged nearly 9%. Funds’ net buying and short covering of soybeans were both record large figures during the week, surpassing the old highs from July 2017. The managed money soybean net short plummeted to 41,453 futures and options contracts from 149,236 a week earlier, marking the least bearish soy stance since January. Almost 28,000 gross longs were added as well, the most for any week since April 2023. Money managers through May 7 staged their biggest rounds of net buying and short covering in CBOT soybean meal futures and options since March 2020, boosting their net long to 87,991 contracts from 43,596 a week earlier. The new meal position is funds’ most bullish since December, and it marked the fifth straight week of significant net buying. That stands in huge contrast to the late November to mid-March trend, when funds were net sellers for 15 of 16 weeks. CBOT soybean oil futures BOv1 rallied 3.5% through May 7 after hitting contract lows in the prior week, though money managers were modest net buyers, trimming their net short to 65,706 futures and options contracts from 66,882 a week earlier. Fund movement in CBOT wheat futures and options was also relatively muted compared with the sizable short covering of the prior two weeks. Wheat Wv1 jumped 6.5% in the week ended May 7, though money managers cut about 5,500 contracts off their net short, which fell to a 41-week low of 42,360 contracts. FRESH DIRECTION The U.S. Department of Agriculture on Friday published its initial 2024-25 global balance sheets, which project next year’s soybean supplies well above expectations but corn and wheat notably below. U.S. corn carryout in 2024-25 is pegged up 4% on the year, less jarring than the 17% jump that was feared just a couple months ago. Stocks-to-use among major global wheat exporters is set for a 17-year low in 2024-25, but soybean giant Brazil is seen expanding output by 10% on the year to a new record. CBOT wheat climbed 4% on Friday to settle at $6.63-1/2 per bushel, the most-active contract’s highest finish since July 31 and well off the year’s low of $5.23-1/2 set on March 11. Most-active corn notched its highest 2024 settle on Friday of $4.69-3/4 per bushel, up nearly 3% on the day. CBOT soymeal last Tuesday hit its highest price of 2024 at $390 per short ton, but futures fell almost 3% between Wednesday and Friday. Soybeans fell more than 2% over those three sessions despite a bump from corn and wheat on Friday. Collectively, CBOT soyoil was unchanged over the last three sessions but got a 4.2% boost on Friday, potentially related to rumors that Washington might impose steep tariffs on Chinese used cooking oil imports, which have displaced U.S. soyoil demand.

Reconnect With Customers Mid-Summer
The communication is flowing between your lawn care company and your customers early in the season. Folks want you to green up their lawns and keep crabgrass at bay. This momentum keeps up until the hazy days of summer.
But, how do you stay top of mind with your lawn care or landscaping customers in July?
Strategy is Key
Six lawn care and landscaping companies were interviewed to share how they touch base with their clients in mid-summer. Overall, these companies educate their clients, whether it’s about turf disease or upcoming fall services.
All companies were purposeful in their outreach approach and some have specific strategies to reach out to their customers about their summer landscaping. For example, Jay Worth of Tomlinson and Bomberger in Lancaster, PA, says, “We strategically send out email blasts. Since turf diseases were rampant last summer in Pennsylvania because of all of the rain, we also posted blogs raising awareness of turf diseases.”
Stacie Callaghan of Gachina Landscape Management located in Menlo Park, CA, shares: “(I) do my best to schedule regular social media posts highlighting seasonal tasks. It’s important to schedule more than one (social media post), so it sticks. (I) space them out far enough that it doesn’t seem repetitive.”
Photo: Tomlinson and Bomberger
Becoming Customer-Centric
Many lawn care operators educate their clients based on what the customers see in their lawns. For example, Mike Sisti of FMC Global Solutions in Philadelphia, PA, has 25 years in the green industry, including 13 years as an lawn care operator. So, he’s an expert on mid-season communication with customers.
Sisti would send educational newsletters out to his customers. For example, using the Northeast’s rainy summers over the past few years, Sisti would send out newsletters focusing on turf diseases, such as red thread and dollar spot.
And he would teach his customers about smart cultural practices they could use right away, such as sharp mowing blades, cut at 3″, and good irrigation practices.
“These tips, along with images of the diseases, help the homeowner more readily identify the issue, but also help establish your business as a resource,” Sisti says.
Mark Kelbacher of Stay Green Lawn Services of Chicopee, MA, offers these three tips for communicating with your clients mid-season:
Proactively reach out via phone or personal email asking your clients how their lawn is doing. “The goal here is to open up the lines of communication with your customers and address any potential concerns sooner than later.”
Keep communicating through information and educational emails. “Keep a close eye on the weather patterns in your market and send an email talking about potential issues the customer may see in their lawns.”
Send an email the month before an important service, such as core aeration and seeding. “One step further would be to break (down) this email into a couple of groups — those without aeration and overseeding, and those with aeration to upsell the seed(ing),” Sisti states.

Other Ways to Communicate Your Services
Richard A. McCoy, owner and president of McCoy Horticultural Services, Inc., in Ringoes, NJ, educates his clients on his organic lawn and landscape services.
“We’re in continuous contact with our clients via the nature of our frequent services to their properties, and with that, we speak directly to our clients. Additionally, we encourage them to contact us whenever they have questions or concerns.”
Instead of using blogs, social media, or print marketing, McCoy relies on word-of-mouth referrals, which works perfectly for him.
“Due to the success of our programs and our broad range of environmental services, most of our business has been secured by word-of-mouth referrals. We have a detailed website, but we currently don’t have a blog or social media.”
Photo: Spring Green Lawn Care
Direct mail is another way to stay in touch with your customers. Spring Green Lawn Care, a green industry franchise with headquarters located in Naperville, IL, uses it as part of reconnecting with their customers.
“We send out mail to current and potential customers,” says Rachel Gawel, marketing coordinator at Spring Green.
“Potential customers are sent mail that advertise(s) our lawn care programs, whereas current customers receive information on our additional services, such as Total Home Pest Control, Mosquito Control, etc.
“”We leave these to encourage customers to sign up for additional services. A message is also left on the customer’s invoice,” Gawel says.
Stay connected this summer with your clients by educating and reminding them of your services, whether it’s through face-to-face contact, newsletters, social media, or door hangers. You’ll be glad you did this fall.
Komancheck has a passion for helping small- to medium-sized companies succeed. She writes blogs, website content, and other digital marketing pieces for the lawn care and landscape industries. You can learn more about her at www.landscapewriter.com.

Guide for Troubleshooting Your Air Conditioner
The post Guide for Troubleshooting Your Air Conditioner is courtesy of: Leipart Heating and Cooling
When to Repair and Call for Appliance Repair for your Air Conditioner?
During the most scorching months, your air conditioner would be one of the appliances which can help you cool down. However due to overuse or some other maintenance related reasons, your cooling unit may not seem to be as fully functioning. Hence it’s necessary for you to know the trouble shooting steps to carry out, in case any glitch might happen to you’re A/C. It’s even best to get in touch with a Heating & Cooling expert. This way, a well-trained technician can handle your unit well and restore it back to its good condition. For instance, if you notice how water seems to leak from your air conditioner you’ll need to check where exactly it’s coming from. Excessive water build up may take place due to humidity and you’ll need to inspect where the source of trouble would precisely be.
First seen on (http://www.airconditioningexperts.net/blog/what-should- you-do- when-water-leaks-from- the-ac- unit/)
Where does the water come from?
The water from your AC unit actually comes from the air in your home. Humidity is the source of the water buildup, and, as you know, we get an awful lot of humidity here. The blower fan in your AC unit moves warm, humid air past a coil, where refrigerant (a chemical blend) absorbs heat (soon releasing this heat outside). As it absorbs heat, the indoor evaporator coil becomes very cold. Condensation forms naturally on the outside of the coil, and this condensation is what causes the leakage.
Where does the water go?
Typically, the condensation that forms on the indoor coil of your AC system is supposed to drain through a pipe. It first drips into a tray, which slopes toward a hole that leads out to a drainpipe, moving water away from your home. However, when there’s an issue with this system, the water can leak out into the AC system or even on your furniture. We’ve heard of AC unit leakage ruining ceilings, walls, and thousands of dollars’ worth of cabinetry!
What is the source of the trouble?
There are many different reasons you might experience trouble with your air conditioner’s condensate drainage system. The drainpipe could clog with debris, allowing for water to backup and overflow into the home. It’s also possible that the tray was installed improperly, or that it has cracked. Regular AC maintenance is the best guard against this common problem. A technician can clean out the condensate drain and help you to address any issues that need repair.
Then again, leaks are not the only major causes of possible air conditioner glitches. Since A/Cs are complex units, it would also be necessary for you to be familiar with the other components which might go wrong with them. They may include the thermostat, ductwork or condenser.
First seen on (http://www.raleighheatingandair.com/blog/why-isnt-my-air-conditioner-working-right/)
Not every AC issue is 100% avoidable, and one of the most common service calls that HVAC technicians get are in regards to a customers’ air conditioner not working right, as in it is turning on but not cooling their home. If this is you, don’t worry just yet. Read below for some common reasons your air conditioner might not be working as you expect.
Thermostat
Simply put, someone else in your home might have messed with your thermostat. While this may seem too obvious, you should double check. Remember that your family members might actually have different cooling preferences than you do, so be sure that your thermostat hasn’t been set to another temperature. You should also look to see that it’s displaying correctly and that it is set to “on.” You could just have the fan running without the thermostat being set to “cool.”
Damaged Ductwork
Your ducts are essential to a functioning central air conditioning system. If ductwork becomes cracked or bent, your conditioned air may be escaping through the ductwork. This could even happen if your ductwork was designed or installed poorly to begin with. While you will need a professional to inspect and possibly repair this, it’s not a huge problem.
Condenser Obstruction
Your condenser unit is located outside, and as such can get blocked by plants, bushes, other shrubbery, trash, or even mulch. If it’s blocked, it won’t receive enough air to release heat from the condenser coils. A dirty or blocked condenser unit can also cause your air conditioning unit to shut on and off repeatedly, a process known as short-cycling.
Lastly, you will also need to read through other maintenance pointers to keep your unit at its tip top shape. Caring for air ducts, air filter replacements and finding other ways to boost the efficiency of your system are just few of the details which would be handy to learn more about.
First seen on (http://www.roth-heat.com/blog/2016/03/17/faqs-about-hvac-systems/)
When does my HVAC system require service? Schedule an annual professional inspection for your air conditioner in early spring and your furnace in early fall. The cleaning and minor repairs performed during these inspections keep your system at top efficiency. They also identify developing problems before they turn into major ones.
How should I care for the air ducts? Once a year, check that the duct connections are sealed with mastic and ducts in unconditioned spaces are insulated. Deteriorated mastic and insulation should be replaced. Ducts rarely need cleaning, but they sometimes develop a problem with moisture, dust, or pests or become damaged. An inspection once every five years is a smart investment.
When should I replace my air filter? Once a month, pull out the filter and hold it in front of a light source. If no light is visible through the filter, put in a clean one. Typically, 1-inch fiberglass filters should be replaced monthly. Higher-efficiency pleated filters last longer and improve your air quality, which standard fiberglass models don’t.
How can I boost my system’s efficiency? Ensuring proper routine maintenance is the most important step. Keep your air registers open and clean. Sufficient home air sealing and insulation also helps. To manage your temperatures more efficiently, consider a programmable Wi-Fi thermostat.
When should I replace my system? You can expect to get around 13 years of life out of your air conditioner and up to 25 out of your furnace. While your equipment may run that long, it becomes less efficient and more susceptible to component failure every year. For that reason, start looking for a new system once yours hits 10 years of age. Higher efficiency and more reliable performance of a new model is usually worth the cost to upgrade.
These pointers should give you a more comprehensive idea about troubleshooting and maintaining your air conditioning system. To best care and maintain for your A/C, it’s highly advisable to schedule for its periodic check-ups with a technician. Leipart Heating & Cooling  Naperville is committed to providing high quality of service to its customers’ HVAC needs. Its exceptional services are meant to ensure utmost comfort and convenient throughout clients.

Tumblr media
Watering Your Lawn
Watering well is of utmost importance, particularly in Aurora and Naperville during hot summer days. Both too little or too much water can be a disaster for your turf.
Deep Watering To encourage deep roots in your lawn, you have to do less frequent but more thorough watering. As a result, such grass can withstand drought better.
Watering Program: If you water your garden at dawn, evaporation will be reduced while the grass bristles will be exposed to air throughout the day hence inhibiting fungal growth.
Tumblr media
Weed and Pest Control
Without proper management, grasses may soon be outdone by these undesired organisms. Areas such as Sugar Grove, Warrenville, and Geneva need regular weed treatments since their lawns often answer to invasion by them. Depending on what we want; during early spring pre-emergent herbicides should be used to prevent weeds from growing.
Integrated Pest Management For pest control without threatening the environment or other useful insects; use environmentally friendly ways of managing pests..

Guide for Troubleshooting Your Air Conditioner
Guide for Troubleshooting Your Air Conditioner is available on}: http://ift.tt/2qcQril
First seen on (http://ift.tt/28MMJVA you-do- when-water-leaks-from- the-ac- unit/)
First seen on (http://ift.tt/28KdYoa)
First seen on (http://ift.tt/28MMEkP)
