lance: canonically bisexual, might be a trans man (havent decided? its honestly up 2 the audience, could go either way), was a huge moviestarplanet player when he was a kid, would probably play dress to impress methinks, for the LONGEST time was convinced something was going on between allura and keith and was insanely jealous and bitter, has the worst gaydar ever TRUST, figured out he was bisexual while playing msp but it only got worse when he met keith and hes really pissed about it

keith: gay as hell but hasnt exactly processed or accepted it (just knows hes scared of women) (for many reasons), transgender (will respond to anything besides feminine pronouns n such), most likely did his own piercings dont ask how or why, allura is the only woman thus far hes comfortable with because she reminds him of a certain someone, allura and him r huge gossips, jack of all trades but really does not know what hes good at like he doesnt know a thing about himself (one time lance challenged him to try out his sniper bc they got into an argument and keith was surprisingly good at it, he was evidently more confused than lance somehow?) (think that one family guy audio where s liek "how r u doing that" "i dunno ;;; O_O"), if you ask him ANYTHING about himself he will most likely just say "yeah i dont rememebr" or "I dont know", often talks very old school and "retro" (in lance's words), surprisingly a decent cook/baker, not as good as hunk of course but can keep up, despite this it was revealed in a conversation with hunk that keith was eating glass among other inedible things while going crazy in the desert (his feral era <3), can diy explosives among other things and no one acknowledges it because it scares them, this boy is very autistic, audhd in fact, im right and you all know it allura: lesbian but doesnt realize it just yet, would probably love the idea of neo/xenopronouns she'd find them whimsical, surprisingly prefers moths over butterflies (mainly after a talk she and keith had one night), huge gossip and loves romance but not in a "i need to date a man" way but "i want to play cupid" (think mabel from gravity falls) (she did have a phase of being boy crazy but that quickly went away when she was brought out of stasis), she loves dressing up but mainly dresses down and more casually because she doesnt go out as much thanks to altea going kaput and all that, she adores gardening and likes to make dyes and such from her flowers, huge diy queen (TRUSTT) she can sew and all that, probably real crafty, keith and allura are close friends and both extremely out of touch with normal human people, she frequently asks him for advice due to their closeness and they just make eachother worse /aff, unironically used wicked in a sentence and was very proud of it (lance almost threw keith out of an airlock for this one), not the best cook but tries her best and is fairly confident with her skills (vicecore if you play alchemy stars) (keith almost banned her from the kitchen) (they agreed on supervised kitchen hours)

pidge: aroace and agender, literally a chronically online cosplayer tech nerd, probably has been cancelled multiple times to the point where matthew had to take every piece of tech they had in the house, has doxxed people before, obsessed with vocaloid and anime, wants to get piercings really bad but their parents wont let them, uses any pronouns and if you ask for their gender they will change their answer everytime or answer with something silly like "the void", their favorite person is Hunk but beyond that prefers robots and tech as their companions, keith is their favorite victim of pranks (save him), the only one who isnt scared of keith even a little bit, evil scientist coded, too smart for their own good, not very socially smart and misses social cues but doesnt really care, very picky about the food they consume, iconic 13-14 year old who is a bit too excited at the prospect of having an excuse to build weapons

I feel like Pidge only knows to joke about certain crushes if they follow really obvious signs or like tropes. I absolutely think she'd bully Lance about Allura and then later have no fucking clue about him having feelings for Keith because he's a lot more subtle about it and is like "what?! No I bet Hunk so much money that he was just shipping for the sake of it! No! Lance why would you do this to me?!"

I also think this interpretation of Pidge was initially out to the team as a lesbian and would joke she'd get a girlfriend before Lance did, only to begin discovering that she's maybe more on the aroace side of things and would be a little pissed off that this would mean Lance probably would get a girlfriend before her

Talked on the phone with Pidge for a few hours. Right now they’re helping upgrade some ships for the Blade of Marmora and wanted my input. At first, it was just that, but then the conversation started going in so many different directions.

She’s insisting that for the wedding we do it at a beach, guess she may have been reading my posts… Think we are going with that then.

Im not even a full Allurance shipper but the P/ancers acting like Pidge was a better choice for Lance and that Lance should have noticed Pidge's crush feels kind of hypocritical.

Like, Allura shouldnt take notice of Lance's feelings even after they got closer and he became a source of support for her. But Lance should take notice of Pidge's "crush" because...why?

As much as I disagree with how Allurance was made. They actually got closer, they had moments where they could be vulnerable and be there for each other and be happy for the other's accomplishments. Their relationship was a mess but their friendship was sweet, and thats more than what Pidge and Lance had tbh. Yes, they were friends and cared for the other but it never felt more than just having fun together (sometimes) and Pidge just making fun of Lance. Lance was protective of her but that could be said for all the team.

It just feels superficial, even as a friendship

journal entry: day 20

Looks like this thing is not messing around.

I woke up this morning with a lovely headache, something I forgot had even existed. Or maybe I’m just in a constant state of migraine, but this one is especially bad. It’s hard to tell at this point. Cleo and Jo said I looked awful today, which I guess makes sense. I really couldn’t think straight at all today. It felt more like I was watching a movie of the day than really experiencing it.

I’m not sure Cleo and Jo did much today. I can’t blame them; there isn’t much to do anymore. I would say we go out and get a few more things, but I really can’t go anywhere in my state. I doubt Cleo and Jo would want to take a trip all the way out to the edge of the city, although there’s nothing to get otherwise. We’ve basically stripped this area clean of anything useful.

I guess it’s just a waiting game now.

The sun is setting, which means it’s nearing Iscan’s least favorite part of the day, and his parents’ Pokemon’s favorite.

He really hates the dark, hates how the shadows stretch on and on, because many times it’s hardly even his own shadow at all, and he gets cold so easily when it happens. He doesn’t linger outside past the last drop of sunlight disappearing into Lake Valor, instead scurrying into the house and sitting down in front of the fire, holding his little hands up. 

His parents aren’t home just yet, instead occupied by a meeting with the clan leader, so he’s left to fend for himself for however long that takes. He knows it’s not just his parents, and he could seek out one of the other kids if he wanted, but… he doesn’t want to go out in the dark no matter what.

It’s a minute of calm before he feels a shiver down his spine, and he screams, whirling around to face Gengar, who’s not even fully out of the floor. It gives him its signature, too-wide too-toothy grin and he nearly hops into the fireplace from fright.

Logically , reasonably, it doesn’t mean him any harm. His parents wouldn’t keep a Pokemon who wanted to hurt him around. But the way Gengar looks at him sometimes, the way it pulls his shadow out from under him and stretches it in terrifying, nightmarish ways–

Iscan can’t just forget that. He gulps nervously, looking up at the Gengar and hoping it goes elsewhere, but he’s out of luck. It leans closer. A bead of sweat drips onto the ground.

And then the fireplace goes out, and he screams.

The only light is now Gengar’s red eyes, and Iscan tries to scurry past it, only to run right into it. Its fur is wiry, feeling like it might cut, but he knows it won’t. He whimpers. The Gengar pats him on the head, which decidedly does not help.

His heart is pounding so hard that he feels like it’s going to break through his chest and flop onto the ground like a Magikarp out of water. He scurries backwards, flinching when he hears something crash onto the ground, already mentally noting to say sorry to his parents. 

Gengar’s eyes follow him, the scarlet light hardly illuminating anything, so Iscan closes his eyes as tightly as he can, and decides he’d rather brave moonlight than the Pokemon’s terrifying stare. He makes a run for the door, scrabbling to open it, but just as he’s shoving the door open, he’s picked up and held like a plush Teddiursa.

Iscan looks back at Gengar with eyes full of tears, and its smile seems to flicker as it waddles out of the house, holding Iscan up higher. He peeks one eye open and squeaks in terror, because oh he is too far off the ground for his liking. 

The Gengar appears to have a destination in mind, because it begins walking, still holding Iscan up. He can hear the distant buzzing of Yanmas, scuttling of Paras and Parasects, the crowing of Honchkrow and Murkrows, and all the other Pokemon that never rest at night. He really hopes none of them come into the settlement…

He makes the mistake of glancing down only to see that his shadow is contorting and twisting in all sorts of terrifying ways, as if a monster creeping out of a cave, or a Drapion pouncing on prey. He squirms desperately in Gengar’s grasp, looking back at it with an utterly distraught expression.

Gengar holds him closer, glancing around before slowly putting Iscan down, and continuing on its way. Iscan scrunches his face up, casting a longing look back at the house. “W-where’re we going..?” 

Reasonably, he probably shouldn’t follow. He should just go back to the house, and curl up in his bed, and pray Gengar doesn’t try to tuck him in, because it’s even worse then when Drifloon does it. But he doesn’t want to be alone right now most of all, and he doesn’t see anyone else up, and he wouldn’t want to wake anyone, so he takes a deep breath and marches after Gengar.

He tries not to look past the settlement and into the Mirelands, but when he can’t help himself and does peek over, he always feels like there’s something staring right back, and it makes him hurry up, almost considering reaching out to the Gengar.

It eventually stops in front of the largest building in the settlement, where Iscan knows that his parents must be, though he doesn’t dare to open the shoji door. Instead, he just looks up at the Pokemon nervously, biting his lip. “We can’t interrupt ,” He protests, already stressing about what sort of fallout that could bring. Would he get kicked out of the clan?? 

Glancing behind himself, he knows he doesn’t have the heart to head back, and maybe.. Maybe Adaman and Mai are inside, so he could stay with them, but he doesn’t think he’d be so lucky. And besides, Adaman and Mai are way too cool for him. 

He hasn’t been at very many meetings; only the big, boring ones that all the adults insist are super duper important, but he never really understood why. 

Gengar picks him back up, tucking him under one arm and heading over to a window. Iscan yelps, but doesn't struggle, not wanting to be dropped on his head. It’s happened before, to much distress on both his and the Pokemon’s parts. 

The Gengar holds Iscan up to the window, and he glances at it before looking inside. He can’t really hear what’s going on inside, but.. It does make him feel better, to see his parents. It makes his skittish mind and racing thoughts slow, and before he can even realize it, his eyes are beginning to droop shut.

When the meeting ends, and his parents return, it is to a sleeping Iscan tucked neatly into his bed and a watchful Gengar making sure he rests well.

To avoid making this a goddamn novel, I'm going to choose just one of my three lads, and I'm going with Vena bc he's the newest and needs the development!

5: He tends to choose the direct/no-nonsense options, but occasionally he'll go snarky/humorous if he either likes you enough or he's sick of your shit <3

6: He and Neve get along pretty well! He trusts her judgement for the most part, and likes her ability to Get Shit Done. Competence goes a long way as far as he's concerned.

8: Lmao he's suspicious of everyone until he has absolute trust he doesn't need to be. It takes a bit for him to warm up to people.

9: No 🥰 I think the Crows who knew him personally would be incredibly shocked to see him being personable towards his companions. He's an asset to them the same as they are to him. It is a purely business relationship he was literally bought into as a child. He knows their current treatment of him is reliant entirely on his usefulness, and the second he is no longer useful, well...

10: I think he knows his way around several, but he's definitely got a preference for stringed instruments.

11: Magic is excellent for something quick, flashy, and at distance, but there is something so beautifully intimate about a dagger~

well, we got to discussing properly taking in our pigeon ward today. i'm not allowed to bring him indoors (mum said) but we've got a few spare cages we can house him in. the next question is then, where to put it so pidge is out of the sun

The episode where Lance's Lion gets taken except they take Lance too and he has to get out and for some reason the only plan they have is having Keith in Yellows Mouth as they desperately try to catch up with them and they have to do the scene from The Runaway Bride from Doctor Who cause Lance absolutely does not trust Keith will catch him

And later Hunk yells at him cause he's known Lance a while and there's no way with the trust issues he displayed at the very beginning that he wouldn't have kept his beady eyes trained on Lance so it ended up with Lance having to track Rolo instead and they have to switch up their plan

Voltron is desperately missing "filler" episodes

the DND episode should've been way earlier (Allura brings out an altean game to get them to bond and it's clearly just dnd)

an episode of Shiro, Lance, and Keith teaching Pidge and Hunk how to fly (because let's be honest nobody's that good immediately)

Keith constantly tries to do missions alone and risks himself and Hunk talks some sense into him

mostly fleshing out relationships as well as characters (especially Hunk and Pidge)

where are my Pidge and Lance interactions (they're so sibling coded)

Shiro giving Keith a noogie

Hunk and Keith bonding (over literally anything they never interact)

Shiro giving Lance flying advice and reassuring him that he's a good pilot (maybe telling him to not compare himself to Keith so much)

A DEFINITIVE EPISODE WHERE LANCE AND KEITH TALK THROUGH THEIR ISSUES (mostly Lance)

like their arguing is messing up voltron so shiro makes them talk things out (maybe a "they're handcuffed together till they get along" type of thing)

allura learning about earth traditions

just like

I feel like all the episodes are so action based that we don't see the characters bond

and basically any character outside of Keith and debatably Shiro don't get much of a character arc outside of one episode and a couple lines

I think a lot of the plot that was really terrible in the later seasons should've been cut for "filler"/character based episodes in the earlier seasons
