What makes you a nurgle fan, other than a great color scheme?

great great GREAT question. you've walked into the essay checkpoint.

basically, the concept of nurgle gives absolutely unique perspective on illness, which is radically devoid of antropocentrism. i'll try to explain it now.

if you know pagan cultures, in them illnesses are usually depicted as evil spirits tormenting the person, or the curse laid by the ill will. and usually shamans or other threshold figures, so to speak, negotiate with these spirits, figure out their intentions to cure the person.

now from that knowledge we will come forward in time, where we know that illnesses are usually caused by microorganisms who find your body very comfy to live in. nurglite mindset suggests - they are alive as well, they just want to live and multiply as every living creature does. nurgle offers the opportunity of dialogue, and eventual symbiosis.

every nurglite is an ecosystem, it is "we", because there is much more forces in action than a conscious human mind. you do not only connect with those around you, but within you. it is empathy without boundaries, compassion without exclusion, it equals human life with the life of any creature, no matter how small and insignificant. in this, nurglite philosophy is closely related to buddhism, but this is a topic i am not yet ready to explore, not enough expertise.

that calm comes from unity, from the lack of pain, because you stop being enemies with others and with yourself. you stop being judgemental, and everything stops being good and bad, from now on it just exists - and i cannot overstate how much better it makes you feel, because in the end the judgement only burdens your own heart.

yes it is that deep, nurgle is very underexplored and simplified to stereotypes, and that just saddens me, because there is so much to think on.

now to my personal reasons:

i got into 40k because i was invited to black crusade and wanted to play a nurglite here

nurgle corruption mostly flows through commonfolk - i love commonfolk

buddhism may be the only big religion i have a little bit of respect for

much space to explore new concepts

I don't like that Daemon Princes get a new true name after they ascend

Like the true name being the groaning whine of a Locust plague or the click-clack of rounds being chambered is all well and good for the Neverborn but Daemon Princes should still have that tie to their former life

After you become a daemon, the first order of business should be destroying any traces of your existence prior to daemonhood. Picking up an alias, slaughtering friends and family, orbital bombarding records, etc.

Imagine an Inquisitor throwing everything from table salt to nukes at an ultra powerful Daemon prince but in the end, its undoing was the elderly mother that it was never able to track down

so there will be two kinds of daemons

So what are your thoughts on Luca's mansion?

repeating from my addition to the post,

my thoughts basically: the mansion, while modern-looking, is built exactly how houses in warm climates were traditionally built - white walls with generally small windows, big roofs that extend to give shade to the place around the building, a lot of greenery. it is perfect for keeping the place cool with minimal! energy! consumption! and that is so contrasting to the rest of karnaca, which has buildings clearly designed for colder climates. coloniser shit i tell you, but even if it was not intended, such type of a building needs significantly more energy to keep it cool. luca abele's mansion is an actively good building. for multiple reasons. all the vile stuff that happens inside makes me want to become an overseer though.

and will say more of general thoughts, many people underestimate the power of architecture and planning of its surroundings in countering extreme temperatures. if the house is built right, it would be good at maintaining its temperature in set conditions, and some architectural projects are just not fit for specific climates. i had a misfortune to study in a building with huge panoramic windows, and i couldn't concentrate because of how cold it was, despite well-working heating. building without thought = more maintenance costs.

also i am tired of the media giving evil figures of power modernist and experimental art aesthetic. to make experimental art, you must have a broad worldview and interest and compassion for a vastly different groups of people. experimental art is not authoritarian in its nature
