howdy folks !! so my name is HYLIA , and I’m here to play the sailor datemate of my dreams , LUKE ANDERSEN. I’m still sort of getting the hang of them since they’re a very new character , so I’m sorry if this intro is all over the place !! No TWS for now save for mentions of death , the ocean , and drowning. Hopefully this isn’t too messy ! 

HISTORY

So Luke is adopted - the child of one of King triton’s servants who passed away from illness. Originally , Triton was going to take them in himself , but instead , Ariel volunteered to care for the little merbaby and raised them as her own. As a result , Triton gave Luke the ability to grow legs on dry land as well as a tail when touched by large amounts of saltwater.

But , they weren’t told of their true heritage as a child. So they believed they were a human for the longest time.

They grew up loving both of their parents to the max but it was DEFINITELY evident they took after Eric more so. They wanted to travel , wanted to explore - and their dad , with his ship and naval prowess , was their hero. So from a very young age , they would accompany their dad on his travels.

It went to the point in which they were taught to pilot a ship themselves - and they even asked for one for their sixteenth birthday. Nothing else , just a vessel of their own. And they got one , naming it The Queen Jocasta. 

First voyage on The Queen Jocasta resulted in an attack by pirates - sixteen year-old Luke tossed off the side of the ship , thinking they were about to drown. But , that power they were unaware of for all this time shifted their legs into a tail , and at that point they realized , Wow , Mom and Dad really haven’t told me SHIT. 

So that was when they were explained that yeah , they were originally born a mermaid , and yeah , they were royalty both on the surface and under the sea. And that prompted Luke to spend a year in the ocean to get to know their mother’s family - returning to the surface to finish their time in Auradon Prep afterwards. This meant they graduated a year later at nineteen. 

And then when that was over , Luke decided ‘ hey, I’m gonna take a trip all around Auradon by BOAT ’ since... that’s their brand , and spent another year just sailing around the different parts of Auradon ( and on the outside of it ) for the fun of it. They’re only just now getting back to Auradon to attend Auroria. 

PERSONALITY & FACTS

So one may describe Luke as an ‘old soul’ - they’re very laid back and relaxed , for the most part , keen on their interests and someone who really seems to know a lot beyond how old they are.

Extremely intelligent - there’s a rumor going around that Luke has an eidetic memory , but they won’t confirm or deny it. ( It’s true. )

OBVIOUSLY AGAIN, OCEAN CHILD. Luke loves the ocean and always hangs out on beaches or the docks if they’re not on their actual boat. Because Luke doesn’t have a dorm - no , Luke sleeps on The Queen Jocasta in their cabin. Captain’s quarters and all that. 

They love traveling just for the sake of traveling , and they can read a map like it’s nobody’s business.

Big into the classics like art and music DESPITE the fact they can’t paint , draw - but they can carry a tune well and for that reason , they play guitar nicely. 

Honestly they’re smart and into the classics and shit but also this can come off as slightly pretentious since they don’t hesitate to remind people how good of a thinker they are - they don’t say it , but they show it. 

Also they know how to dance , taking ballet classes when they were younger !! It’s just not something they remind anyone of much.

One more class they took was swordfighting in attempts to learn how to defend themselves . . . and yes , they’re great at it. Scary great.

In terms of a more direct description of their PERSONALITY , Luke tends to approach situations with again , a very laid back attitude but also one that’s brutally honest. They will let you know if they’re pissed off with you and . . . do have a bit of a temper when their nerves are ticked. Luke’s also got a bit of a dangerous tendency to always think they’re on their own and look after number one ( themselves ) and forgets that they can lean on other people for help. This doesn’t mean they don’t care about their allies - no , they greatly care about them. But Luke’s sort of used to being a mysterious , aloof , brooding traveler that they often forget they now have people they can confide in. 

They’ll do things that perk their interest - Luke really isn’t going to go out of their way for something unless there’s either something in it for them or they have a personal interest. Also , if they care for the person , but yeah.

There’s a slight cynical streak to them for no other reason than the fact they just always think they have to watch their back - and for the fact people have secrets , like their parents keeping the secret they were a mermaid for a good portion of their life. 

I promise they’re not a conceited selfish prick Luke is just VERY . . . aloof. I know I said that before but they’re distant and sort of keep to themselves and what they want. 

Their opinion on the villains and heroes coming together is that they really . . . couldn’t care less. They never were really one to focus too much on the Auradon vs. Isle debacle anyway , but also - they can understand why some VKs are pissed. BUT , since this is Luke we’re talking about - that doesn’t mean they’re going to be exceptionally nice to the villain kids , treating them the same as Auradonian kids - casually , trying to get a read on them , probably the same aloof & ‘I could care less’ demeanor they normally keep up. 

Also I should mention !! Luke is genderfluid , preferring they/them pronouns like stated before - but when addressing them with their royal title , they prefer to be addressed by the title of Prince. But Captain is even more so preferred.

WANTED PLOTS & CONNECTIONS

OKAY SO. When the main puts up their WC page I will be submitting this one but I’d love an ARRANGED MARRIAGE plot for Luke. Basically , arranged while Luke was away traveling - they could either already know this person or are just meeting them now , but they’re not too keen on the idea of arranged marriage but aren’t really doing anything to fight it since it is what it is. They can either get along or hate each other , be best buddies or the like , but I think it’d be so funny if Luke - a wayward soul - was supposed to be arranged to marry someone who always has to make sure they’re not getting into trouble or something since Luke . . . CANNOT stay in the same place. At all. Bonus if this person is super duper sweet and polite in contrast to Luke’s nature of being absolutely crass & unrefined.

SF9 aka Sensational Feeling 9

 @lee-dongmins said they wanted to get to know sf9 so i guess here’s a basic guide to these sweet dumb boys whom i love

ok so sf9 is a 9 member boy group formed by FNC Entertainment (f.t.island, n’flying, cnblue, aoa) at the end of 2k16 on a survival show called Dance or Band, where they went up against another group of fnc trainees that were in a band (who would later debut under fnc as Honeyst).

On the show they were known as Neoz Dance and they have whole bunch of dope af covers on the neoz youtube channel.  They won the survival show by performing a song they wrote and choreographed called K.O. and it would later be included on their debut single album.  

Before debut the members all acted in a web series called Click Your Heart, with 4 of the boys playing main characters (Dawon, Rowoon, Zuho, and Chani) and the others playing minor characters.  It’s pretty small, just 7 episodes that are at most like 15 minutes and it’s a kind of choose your own ending because you can choose who the main girl winds up with out of the 4 main boys.

October 2016 they debuted with Fanfare (a solid bop but pretty average in the grand scheme of the music scene at the time but the dancing is hella good see above gif) and in December they put out a special mv for their song So Beautiful they made for Click Your Heart (it’s genuinely so sweet and filled with holiday cheer and absolutely zero rudeness, something that only it out of all the sf9 mvs can boast).

February 2017 they had their first comeback with Roar (a delightfully saturated mv that we soon learned was the staple of an sf9 mv and with the catchy whisper line of bureureung aka roar/rev the engine that nearly everyone mistakes as something like ‘put it in’ the first time they hear it).

April 2017 we were graced with their second comeback of Easy Love (truthfully this was the first mv of theirs i ever saw and i was hooked).  It was the last of their mini albums to have the whole ‘sensation’ motif in the title.

October 2017 was their third comeback with O Sole Mio (they went to california to film at least parts of the mv and wow is it fucking gorgeous and the chorus has like 4 different languages in it so wow talented boys).

February of 2018 was their fourth comeback with Mama Mia! (aka pls stop putting dreadlocks on these poor kids and pls let them be playful more often in things also what a freakin happy bop).

August 2018 was their fifth comeback with Now or Never.  It has the classic saturation of a sf9 mv and a smooth sound that makes it perfect for easy listening or hype music.  It can sound like the world Jealous is repeated throughout the song but it’s actually Jilleosseo which is the title of the song in korean. (I believe this also the first mv with all members being 18 internationally and they’ve definitely got a more mature visual thing going on.)

They’ve released Japanese versions of all their title tracks with accompaning mvs and some of their B-sides.

With every promotion cycle they also release a self cam of one of their B-sides that is pretty much just the boys being dorks lipsyncing the song and playing around with each other and it’s a beautiful little treat that fills Fantasy (aka fandom name) with warmth.  I do believe these are all of them:

Youngbin: ‘93 Leader, Rapper, basically a dad in that he tells those jokes and is a source of comfort and stability for the members and always has some kind and wise words to give them, would really love it the members would stop shying away from skinship (Chani it’s always Chani), a flirt?(warning alot of them are flirts).

Inseong: ‘93 Vocalist, Oldest, a complete dweeb and we love him for it, speaks pretty good english because he studied in England for a year and is a smooth operator, was an SM trainee, calls himself a desert fox and is pretty smart, did some acting in a drama, part of what i’m gonna call the flirt line.

Jaeyoon: ‘94 Vocalist, OST veteran, dimples, thinks his butt is great and like he’s not wrong, is in charge of having the Honey Voice and can sing any song in a sweet way, knows poisonous plants and animals, wow look at that one whole flirt.

Dawon: ‘95 Vocalist, Sub-rapper after Mama Mia!, the 4D personality, was on masked idol on weekly idol for awhile and when sf9 went on weekly idol he nearly gave himself away cause he can’t stop being hilarious, a regular member of SBS’ Game Show, flirt line.

Zuho: ‘96 Rapper, does alot of writing and composing for their songs sometimes with Youngbin and Hwiyoung, trained for 8 years before debut, is the classic looks tough but is a cinnamon roll who loves cuddling, the members say he’s most charismatic of them all, is friends with suga (he’s my bias and i have to stop myself from gushing about how sweet and talented he is).

Rowoon: ‘96 Vocalist, Visual, is basically the face of the group and is on shows like Lipstick Prince and does acting in some dramas, likes making sure the other members are cared for, really likes giving affection to Chani (who is never too delighted by this) and Zuho (who is super delighted by this), a pretty flirt.

Taeyang: ‘97 Vocalist, Visual, DANCER like hot fucking damn is this boy a dancer, he and Rowoon are most often the center of dances and it’s fucking because he is an amazing dancer and works so super hard at being good, he is also literal sunshine.

Hwiyoung: ‘99 Rapper, Sub-vocalist, somehow ends up the brunt of poor luck, studies hard, very emotional and openly admits to crying at Train to Busan even though no one asked him, called the Happy Virus, can wiggle his ears, does kick boxing and will kick you in the butt if you ask.

Chani: ‘00 Rapper, Vocalist, Maknae, child actor, used to be Fantagio trainee, childhood friends with Moonbin and Chanwoo from iKon, actor now and wow the kid’s got some heckin movies under his belt, would really like for people to think that he’s cool pls.

(june 10 - july 10) I meet ~22 strangers in an Ann Arbor ally and we depart for Wyoming. After 3 days of driving, we arrive as a family. I learned the biggest lesson of 2016 from her and she doesn’t even know it. climb a giant loaf of bread in the middle of the night to see the moonrise, barefoot & blind & by myself, a “risky bitch” -Loafie Sutz I see my shadow miles away in the sunrise on that spire thing 3 weeks in: kinda blow up and leave, walk into the wilderness by myself (bad) and swim to an island where I climb a big boulder and make new friends. I calm down. The Grand Nips are the most beautiful place I have ever spent a month, but I never want to see another minivan in my life. I (Pepino) feel at home outside. I am so grateful for this brother of mine. oct 18- south! Pasties are gross oct 19 - bad stats test (50%) (how am I this dumb?) (everything is bad again) (this is the beginning of the descent) I stop going to class bc I can’t get out of bed. I haven’t seen my friends in forever. I don’t have friends anymore. I am trapped in my room/head. I want to die. Dropping orgo Failing stats Dropping/failing friends I want this to end. I want to jump out the window of 479 jo and fall like that raven off the cliffs. I want to pull a Chris McCandless, but I don’t have a car. Alex makes everything better by not telling me that everything is going to get better. she’s been there, she’s failed. I love having her around. Bond with tim and eduardo (woops) and alec and jiten at Chris’s house, but sober erin remembers the barriers I’ve lived on this earth for two whole decades!!(Failed a test on the same day) sad bday churros w Lauren, spent the night on the floor at her place. Meryn brought me oranges and a book about glaciers <33 seds is taking up too much of my time but it’s kinda nice. stubborn boy named haydar tries to bring me pad thai and I say no but we become pen pals anyway, now he knows too much. a good character in my life. Nicco takes an absolute SHIT on me - with one statement he discredits all the friendships I thought I had at umich. It isnt a big deal to him, it’s in the past, but it isn’t for me. barrier is complete. The ghost of glory lives on. Same day- Lauren storms out (why doesn’t she want equality??? I thought she had changed) and Kastriot picks up the pieces Time goes on, erin fails stats sem3=done, but a waste of time/resources. I hate myself. Clarkston grandma is drunk and sad Alan is there with Lauren I am kind of there pickling eggs w Mack– I still love her but man oh man she has changed Royal w tommy and nick new years at konrad’s abandoned ghost house, liam dangles me over possibly the last of the giant ass bonfires, graffiti in the barn loft. learned some stuff about konrad, but he is truly a starfish among urchins. Faith in friendship is restored by him and others and myself. I think I’ll stop hating myself now. 2017 will be shiny and new end
