TASK 003: MALFUNCTION

The third task is again power based, however this time we thought it would be interesting to explore a time your character tried to use their power and failed to to do. Either the power just didn’t work at all, backfired in some way or they could even lose control. The general restrictions of your powers can be found under their info. posts to give you an idea of the limitations your characters face during the early stages of their development. There are always lessons in failures, so even mistakes can lead to your characters understanding themselves and their powers better.

This can take place anytime since your character first discovered their powers - whether this is in the month before the roleplay opened, following the first event or even setting the scene for a future thread with consequences for your character to pursue. There are no structural requirements for the task and this can be completed at any time. It can only be completed once to be considered for AP submission.

This task is just an easy way for you to start exploring your character on your own terms. Remember that all tasks are useful for accruing AP in exchange for power upgrades! Think of this as an icebreaker and setting the mood for you all – happy roleplaying! :)

TASK 001: THIRST QUENCHING

Your first task will involve writing a self-para on the events leading up to your characters getting their powers. How did they first come across the bottle of water that would change their life? Were there other important events leading to that purchase or was it just a run-of-the-mill day that wasn’t worth paying attention to. Was it just one bottle or a habit they couldn’t kick? 

This can take place anytime in the month prior to the start of the roleplay and can span over however long you see fit. Maybe consider reaching out to other members to see if at some point your characters crossed paths without really knowing what the future holds, experiment with different formats or writing styles if you really want to be creative. It can either end with your characters first instance of their new power or not, there are no structural requirements for the task and this can be completed at any time.

TASK 002: GIFTED

Your second task is another self-para, this time the focus will be on your character and the first time they realised they had powers. This can be written in any number of formats, experiment with different formats or writing styles if you really want to be creative, though the usual 3rd person perspective is to be expected. Take the time to set the scene, explore their emotions and really describe the power. Did it come in with a bang or start out small? The information regarding the limits of their power in their basic form can be found on their info. post. 

This can take place anytime either before the start of the roleplay or since the first event, it’s down to your judgement of when you’d like your character to make the discovery. There are no structural requirements for the task and this can be completed at any time. It can only be completed once to be considered for AP submission.
