In Pokemon Red, Cooltrainer Fs actually have code that lets them switch their Pokemon if they go below 1/5th HP. But the dev made a mistake - unlike almost every other AI check in the game, their code doesn't properly branch after the random number check and so they ALWAYS choose to execute their AI if possible. What that means is, if you get two of a Cooltrainer F's Pokemon under 20% HP, they'll switch endlessly between them until you defeat one or otherwise chance the conditions. This even applies if the Cooltrainer has another perfectly healthy mon, because AI Trainers only know how to switch between their current Pokemon and the next alive Pokemon in order. This also means, by the way, that Cooltrainer Fs will ALWAYS use their Hyper Potions under 10% HP, because it shares the same random check. Isn't that interesting?

so the latest twitch plays pokemon hack is a memefest hack of yellow where the main pokemon is a chatot. it has this thing where it markov chains together bits of the chat input to replace unimportant npc dialogue. also, its on "turbo anarchy" which means it duplicates random inputs to try to get that feeling that the old red runs had

the main character appears to be a robot and we nicknamed it x-man

so anyway i tried to make lore really quick no idea if people are gonna like it but i gotta have hope
