having a bit of emotions rn. today is the day I’m sending out my Pokemon cards that I sold for a hefty sum of cash. I’ve already shown off some of the beloved ones that I’m selling, but I never talked about this one. this was the very first rare card I got in my first ever pack of cards that I bought when I was 12. back then, finding a Chansey in game was like finding a golden ticket to Wonka’s factory. I spent hours trying to hunt and catch a single Chansey in my Yellow game. so when I ended up getting this card, I thought I was really lucky; like the card says, it brought me a lot of happiness to “catch” it. I’ve treasured this card my entire life since then, and I’m finally ready to let it go. it’s definitely not the most valuable card in terms of money, but it’s super valuable to me because of the joy it brought me when I found it in that little pack of cards I bought when I was 12.

thanks for the memories, Chansey. I’ll try to spend the $7 you’re worth wisely 💙💙💙💙💙

Today I found a drowning butterfly that was just alive. I saved it from the water and decided to dry out it's wings in hope that it'd fly again. About 20 minutes later after walking around, it flew away. Such a precious moment, awh.

been thinking about it and I think I know why I like the SV main cast more so than any other Pokemon game

it's cause they all got signs of being neurodivergent

like Penny is stereotypical autistic for sure, but the others give off vibes as well

Nemona has ADHD. Arven has RSD. Kieran is also autistic, along with anxiety and depression. Carmine even has AuDHD vibes imo

overall this group has been the most relatable by far, which is why I love them so much 🥰

soooooo I finally got to do the League Club interactions 👀

I got lucky and had Drayton there from the start. he asked me for a battle and I once again crushed him. he responded by giving me his spare jumpsuit ROFL

which I immediately put on of course 😁

then I invited the bae over. he immediately started complaining that the AC was too high, poor bby. he also said THIS:

anyway, we battled and I crushed him thanks to Skeledurge and Ogerpon. he gave me some vitamins for my Pokemon. and then… THIS HAPPENED

he also talked about how he met some fans who wanted to take their picture with him. however…

my dad requested more art for his custom Pokemon cards this year for his birthday, and this time I chose my favorite lazy bean Fuecoco! 🥰

like the Charmander art I drew him last year, I wanted to have a "realistic" background. so since the region of Paldea is based off Spain, I looked up photos of actual Spanish deserts for inspo. I chose the Monegros desert cause I liked the splashes of greenery, and I'm a sucker for pretty rock formations 💙

GUYS IM SHAKING

four years ago, I was stuck in my room for an entire week while I was sick (it was the beginning of covid so my fam wanted to be safe). I decided to replay one of my favorite games, Pokemon SoulSilver. during that playthrough, I encountered my first shiny Pokemon EVER in a handheld Pokemon game. it was an Arbok.

I was on the phone with my fam at the time, so they got to witness my excitement. they also got to witness my heartbreak…

I accidentally killed it with a critical hit before I could catch it. I was literally inconsolable (cause nobody could even come comfort me at the time). I set the game aside and haven’t touched it since.

BUT

I made it my vow to one day find it again. no matter what it took, I would get that shiny Arbok back.

fast forward to today. I have an Ekans outbreak in Scarlet. I’ve perfected the art of shiny hunting at this point. I spend roughly 2+ hours, longer than I normally hunt, trying to find this dadgum green snake in a large grassy field inhabited by Bellsprout, Sewaddle, and Spiniraks.

I was legit close to giving up. but I kept at it, telling myself to be patient. I was going to find it.

and sure enough…

I immediately broke into tears when I found her. I cried tears of sorrow when I lost the Arbok, but now I was crying tears of pure joy. I freaking did it.

I wanted to name her something to represent all the time I spent waiting to find her. I chose the Japanese name “Shinobu”, which means patience/endurance. she was WELL worth the wait.

the best part?

this is her description. “good endurance”. I gave her the name before I’d even seen this. she’s absolutely PERFECT 💙

OMG

I brought out Ogerpon to battle Terapagos as an act of “motivation” to get Kieran to help me

he ended up joining the battle after Ogerpon was in the red zone (I healed her afterwards), and he even ended up getting the final blow on Terapagos!!

I didn’t plan this at all!! I had no idea what was gonna happen!! the poetic cinema of it all is making me crazy!!!!

growing up, Pokemon Snap was one of my favorite video games. my favorite spot was the volcano, specifically the group of Charmanders that would dance to music and fight over apples LOL

I used to dream of actually being there with them, just hanging out with one of my favorite Pokemon of all time 🥰

so I bought the Pokemon SV DLC yesterday and have been playing through Teal Mask; I actually am almost done with it already and am about to do Indigo Disk

I have opinions™️ about Carmine and Kieran, but I don’t wanna talk about them rn, I wanna talk about these two other things!!

firstly, thanks to those Litwick outbreaks, I was finally able to get one of my most desired shinies of all time!!! 💙

and secondly, I knew I was gonna love Ogerpon based off what I’ve already seen but OMG. OOOOOOMG. I LOVE THIS SWEET BABY SO MUCH 🥰🥰🥰
