Esses números, geralmente medidos por relógios digitais, ajudam quem quer perder peso ou simplesmente ter uma vida mais saudável. Essa mesma tecnologia que fornece esse tipo de medição está sendo usada para salvar o mico-leão-preto, uma das espécies de primatas mais raras e ameaçadas do planeta. Ao contrário dos seres humanos, os bichos não usam relógios, e sim, mochilas, colocadas por pesquisadores que estão estudando o comportamento do animal na região de Presidente Prudente (SP), no Oeste Paulista. O objetivo é usar os dados em favor da preservação da espécie, que vive em pequenos fragmentos de vegetação no maior e mais preservado remanescente de Mata Atlântica do Estado de São Paulo, no Pontal do Paranapanema, na divisa com o Paraná e o Mato Grosso do Sul. Através do equipamento, os pesquisadores vão conseguir analisar, por exemplo, o movimento migratório dos micos, a velocidade em que eles estão transitando e quanta energia está sendo gasta para eles se deslocarem. Tudo isso é medido por um GPS e um acelerômetro (usado para mensurar a aceleração de um objeto). Até a primeira quinzena de fevereiro, quatro grupos de micos já estavam com as mochilas. A expectativa dos pesquisadores é de que mais três grupos recebam o equipamento ainda no primeiro semestre de 2021. Com base nesses registros, os pesquisadores vão traçar estratégias capazes de melhorar a qualidade das florestas e apoiar os planos de ação para a conservação não só do mico-leão-preto, mas de primatas do Brasil e de todo o mundo. Doutoranda e mestre em Ecologia, Evolução e Biodiversidade, a pesquisadora Gabriela Cabral Rezende diz que o objetivo é obter dados mais específicos – e cada vez mais precisos – sobre o mico-leão-preto. “Será possível reconstruir o movimento deles e calcular, por exemplo, o gasto energético diário a partir dessa movimentação”, afirma. Ela fala ainda que as pesquisas feitas em campo revelam as necessidades da espécie, “possibilitando a elaboração de estratégias para sua conservação”. O trabalho é realizado em parceria com o Laboratório de Primatologia (LaP), da Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp), em Rio Claro (SP), e com o Laboratório de Movimentação Animal (SLAM), da Universidade de Swansea, no País de Gales. O equipamento A mochila colocada nos macaquinhos – que, quando adultos, pesam em média 600 gramas –tem apenas 18 gramas e é o aprimoramento do colar de GPS, usado pela primeira vez em animais desse porte pelo IPÊ, no Brasil. Alguns grupos serão removidos para outras áreas de floresta, que estão sendo conectadas pelos corredores ecológicos, conhecidos como “corredores da vida” – outro renomado projeto do IPÊ que prevê o plantio de árvores em meio ao agronegócio. Trata-se de um dos maiores projetos de restauração florestal em execução no Brasil. Com o desmatamento que devastou todo o Estado de São Paulo ao longo das últimas décadas, sobraram poucas áreas de florestas no Oeste Paulista. “Isolados”, os micos passaram a se deslocar cada vez menos entre os fragmentos e, com isso, sobraram pequenas populações desses animais. Os corredores ecológicos têm a intenção de resgatar essas conexões entre as florestas. Com indivíduos espalhados pela região, evita-se assim a reprodução entre parentes muito próximos, conhecida também como consanguinidade genética. Na prática, os pesquisadores almejam que os micos “mudem de casa” mais frequentemente, explorando diferentes áreas, e encontrando-se entre si. Projeto Corredores Ecológicos restaura paisagens, beneficia animais e possibilita geração de empregos no Pontal do Paranapanema Interpretação dos dados Com os dados do GPS e do acelerômetro em mãos, os pesquisadores vão conseguir avaliar, por exemplo, se os micos estão gastando menos energia na movimentação em florestas de mais qualidade, com mais recursos e alimentos, o que, segundo os cientistas, é fundamental para a sobrevivência da espécie. Será possível verificar, por exemplo, em que áreas os micos gastam mais energia para se deslocar. Segundo Gabriela Rezende, é importante saber o que representa obstáculo para os micos. “Se em algumas áreas dessas florestas identificarmos, a partir dos dados, que o gasto energético é maior, significa que ele está tirando essa energia de outra atividade; energia que ele poderia ter investido, por exemplo, para se reproduzir. E isso pode interferir, de fato, na conservação da espécie no longo prazo. Como os micos precisam dos ocos para proteção contra predadores e adversidades climáticas (frio e chuva), a ideia é instalar essas caixas. Para monitorar o bicho, os pesquisadores também estão instalando câmeras trap, que servirão para gravar a movimentação deles. A ideia é utilizar a espécie como um símbolo ou ‘guarda-chuva’ para a conservação de áreas florestais prioritárias. O objetivo é recuperar áreas degradadas e/ou criar corredores que conectem os fragmentos de matas onde famílias de micos se encontram isoladas”, cita, em nota, o instituto, um dos mais importantes do país. Dia do Mico Neste domingo (28), comemora-se no Brasil o Dia do Mico-Leão-Preto, instituído pela portaria nº 4, de 17 de setembro de 2018, do Ministério do Meio Ambiente. Primata considerado “em perigo de extinção”, nas listas de espécies ameaçadas internacional, brasileira e estadual, o mico-leão-preto (Leontopithecus chrysopygus) existe apenas nas porções oeste e sul do Estado de São Paulo, nos remanescentes de Mata Atlântica de Interior e matas ciliares, e tem um papel importante nessa porção florestal. Devido à intensa devastação dessa floresta e à fragmentação de seu habitat, a espécie sofreu uma redução significativa da população a aproximadamente 1.500 indivíduos. Para se ter uma ideia, o mico-leão-preto foi considerado extinto por 65 anos, devido à ausência de registros na natureza, até sua redescoberta em 1970. Com os esforços de conservação de organizações socioambientais e governamentais, hoje o mico-leão-preto tem um futuro mais promissor. Assim como outros primatas, o mico é uma espécie sentinela, que indica a saúde de um ambiente (por exemplo, se uma área é afetada pelo mosquito da febre amarela, são os primeiros a sentirem o impacto), e também é um bom dispersor de sementes, auxiliando na manutenção das florestas dos locais onde vive. Por ser uma espécie tão especial, que no mundo só existe em uma área restrita de São Paulo, o mico-leão-preto é considerado a espécie símbolo do Estado. The polycrystalline crystal or polycrystalline aggregate is solid matter which is made up of an infinity of crystals, called grains or crystallites, with a randomly-oriented, randomly-spaced internal structure that fills the entire volume of the solid, conferring the nuances and internal "clouds" of the crystals, most noticeable in transparent quartz crystals; conferring internal cracks and separation of crystalline or metallic aggregations, as they are made up of various crystals or grains, each with different spatial orientations, having different internal contours, and not grain segmented.
