i'd love to read research on when and why non-english speaking subrepresented groups (living outside of english speaking nations) started identifying with color terminology for race, like "preto" "amarelo/yellow" etc. 30 years ago if you called someone "preto" or "amarelo", that used to be offensive. I dont think its a bad idea to reclaim words as they are indeed constantly evolving but there is a damage that is not yet too known about importing social fights and terminologies from other countries without the social movement themselves reclaiming it. the context is off, the purpose is off.

#politically speaking they are irrelevant its just a word its not changing anything material #always keep an eye out to when the corporate world is too open on accepting these “diversity” inovations & whatever #if they do its because it has zero impact on them and its just perfumarie #mr #like the lgbt civil movement in brazil still goes by just lgbt #while companies are out there using a soup of never ending new letters #and what is that gaining anyone #absolutely nothing #um tempo atras a empresa em q eu trampo compartilhou com geral uma cartilha de palavras a serem evitadas #por terem conotação racista e etc #e entre elas tava “denegrir”#enqnt isso... na each-usp tem um coletivo negro chamado denegrir #uma pegada bem rincon sapiencia
