#pov: u get 3 spinoffs and a sequel or u get ch4 smut

okay soooo. i've come to the decision to axe the smut in dragon bkg ch4. hear me out tho LOL. it does not really add anything to the story and idt it fits in the way i want it to. i want it to be more... emotional?? meaningful?? ig?? and with the way ch4 is going as i'm writing it, it's just. not hitting that mark for me

when i originally made the outline for holding out it was with the intention that there would not be any continuation... however.... now i have found myself writing 3 spinoffs and a sequel so i've decided to change things up a bit. here are the options i am giving all of u, my readers:

make u all wait until the middle-ish/end-ish of the sequel to have any sort of smut lol (pros: it'll hit harder with all the tension and buildup. cons: u have to wait)

write the og smut i was gna write in ch4 in a separate one shot that i'll release and label as non canon to the fic (pros: u get the smut sooner. cons: it's non canon)

write a completely separate smut shot tht takes place after the events of the sequel (pros: u get smut thts canon sooner compared to option 1. cons: it may be very disjointed as i try not to spoil the sequel)

i'm offering these options bc some of u may be disappointed ig at no smut and i feel bad for saying i'd include it in ch4 and then just deciding to cut it all out pfft. since tumblr HASN'T GIVEN ME POLLS YET please use this quotev poll to lmk what u think!
