Remember the Prenderghastly AU in which Aggie and Norman have their roles swapped, with Agatha being a hotheaded outcast raised by her single mother Mildred, while Norman was a fire ghost who just wanted to be left alone? And Salma was Aggie's lab partner?

Idk if you've ever heard of the prenderghastly au (norman and aggie switch roles in the film) but what would your canons be for modern aggie as a mystery kid and/or ghost norman?

Oh wow, I’ve sort of heard of that AU. A modern Aggie is sort of hard for me to imagine, but I would think that she would be a really quiet girl who is very close to her mom. For some reason, I imagine that she would be even more shy than Norman is. 

I also think that she would have more offensive ghostly powers, like that lightning ability. In my head, I imagine that if Norman were to have those powers, they would develop a little later for him. 

I also imagine that as shy as Aggie is, she has an intense temper and when this happens she loses control of her powers. The MK have learned to duck and cover when that happens.

Prenderghastly AU Drabble

Aggie was running. Running as fast as her legs could carry her. She was terrified; scared out of her mind! (But by what?) Branches snagged at her clothes and tore holes in the fabric. Every rock and tree root seemed perfectly poised to trip her up, and when they weren't she was sure to stumble over her own two feet. But none of that mattered right now. All that mattered was getting away. Getting far away.

            But where could she go? She didn't know this place. Or...she thought she didn't. Almost unconsciously she made mad dashes from tree to tree, turning this way and that in a wild sprint. Caution had been thrown to the wind ages ago. It didn't matter if they could hear her frantic blundering through the starlit woods; if she could get to that place she'd be safe. If only she could get there before they... No! She couldn't think about that. (Think about what?)

            She was nearing it now - her sanctuary, the place they could never find. She'd finally be safe, finally be able to catch her breath.

            Aggie made a single mistake.

            She glanced back. Just for a split second, but she did it. Flames followed her - torches to better find her in the dead of night. Torches to burn her once she was captured. (What? Where did that idea come from?) Oh no. No! She was almost there! She could make it. Just a little farther and -

            She tripped. The rock she had kicked rolled lazily away from her and she pitched forward onto her hands and knees.

            Closer now. They were so close. "Get up, stupid!" She thought to herself. "You can still make it if you just-"

            "Aggie! Time to get ready for school, sweetie!"

            "-just get up! AH!" Agatha Prenderghast gasped as she was torn back into the waking world, struggling against the sheets that had tangled around her ankles during her nightmare. "What in the world...was that all about?"

I just have so many feels for Aggie, ugh. I've not even seen the movie yet and I have feels!! AUGH

Jer eventually, in the series he's from, becomes a sort of herder or shepherd of the dead and lost souls throughout the realms. He's given passage to go through each realm as if it were his own, allowing him to guide Reapers and other beings to the correct souls so they may pass on. The hardest ones for him to guide are children, since he has such an emotional attachment to children, and some don't even know they're dead. He tries his best to help them, but sometimes they can't do much beyond wait until they're ready to accept what happened to them and pass on.

It's sad, really. So he feels for Agatha - wanting to do his best in helping her as well as just keeping her company during this rough time of her life. Mostly RP stuff, since obviously this is nowhere near canon for either, but... it's still just as sad.

The "Prenderghastly" AU was originally created by Zakeno (I believe?) and is something I've loved a lot ever since I found it. The idea is pretty simple, but really cool: Aggie and Norman swap roles, with major people in their lives also switching as appropriate. Norman is a Puritan kid from the 1700s, Aggie is a modern kid. It's a really cool character study to show you how differently the two handle the same situations.

I've made a little archive of all the stuff Zakeno did for it, which you can download here! It'll get you up to speed on the basic concepts and stuff in it, so if you see me do stuff with it on this blog again, you won't feel lost or confused!

The Prenderghastly AU is an old setting where Aggie is the modern, living one and Norman is the dead one, with other characters having their roles swapped as appropriate. As far as I know, nobody's played with this AU in years so I'm officially taking over it doing stuff in it.
