would like to throw out there that, as someone who only watched s1 of invincible, i didn't mind amber / don't think she's comparable to maws lois only bc she dumps marc when he literally keeps ghosting her on dates. and yeah, the audience knows that he's got all these important superhero things to do, but he lies to her about being able to do stuff with her, and even after she gives him the benefit of the doubt multiple times, he continues to not show. much more of a spiderman type issue then whatever was happening with MAWS. (it's not the superhero identity that's the problem; it's that he still led her on and made her feel like shit. hardest part of their whole dynamic was buying they could get back together after it went so poorly, knowledge of his secret identity or no)
fellas,,,if you want to defend a fictional character from a show I don't watch, then brave the comments section and talk there with someone who knows what you're talking about for I have very little horse in this race other than "this character sure gets brought up with MAWS Lois every time superhero secret identity discourse happens, and I'm sick of seeing both their faces frankly".
I don't think this is really the whole picture. I can't trust either way unless I watch the show myself (which I'm not interested in, Martian Manhunter isn't in it, etc etc) but I feel a character getting this much hate is the result of a logical narrative dissonance. Sure there can be other variables at play, but my spider senses are telling me that's not the case here. And I'd rather not continue any Invisible discussion beyond that.
