Since you're poking at DC twins, do you have any thoughts on Booster Gold and Goldstar? (Michael & Michelle Carter)

I'm a big fan of Michael and Miss Skeets Michelle Carter,,, I think (what is going on with their lore). I love that they have rhyme-y whime-y alliteration names as twins. As a fellow twin with rhyme-y whime-y names I respect the hustle and craft.

Oh, I love this interpretation of Goldie! It gives you a lot of room to play in the space, especially if you contrast it with Golden Boy. Absolutely love it 🤍

Thank you, I'm glad you like Goldie!! And that's true, Golden Boy could still exist in my reimagining since he's from an alternate dimension where he survived and John didn't. He'd be pretty amused at the thought of sentimentally clinging to a lost twin- since he believes in survival being "my right and due".

How would you handle the Livewire transformation? No offense to STAS, but Leslie's body turning into electricity because she was standing near Superman when struck by lightning does not make a lick of sense, even by comic book standards.

I actually like the Livewire origin in STAS, and think it's the best one! Apart from maybe tweaking details like Leslie having experimental concert tech that acted volatile in extreme rain, I'd still have it play out the same way with Superman being in contact with Leslie and the lightning strike.

What's makes this origin so great is not how it happens but why. Livewire was already antagonizing Superman through her radio show, but after the accident she's able to weaponize her victimization and literally control how the media perceives the situation (she pre-emptively primed her audience to victimize her even before she woke up with her powers). It's so ripe with potential for commentary on white woman self-victimhood and the way media can shape discourse surrounding marginalization, that any origin where she just has zappy powers to begin with doesn't hit the same way.

i LOVE how you draw j'onn and ma'al tiny in the booster gold comic. it's a little thing, but they're so expressive, and it shows off your design skills that they're so interesting when they're detailed but also they scale down well. perfect little guys. i wish i could make toys of them. (i also am constantly thinking about how j'onn only knew booster for like a month before being one of the only people at michelle's funeral so giving them silly twin shenanigans is healing me.)

Thank you! I think it's an important part of superhero character design especially, when they're still recognizable scaled down or at a distance. (also I didn't know that bit about Michelle's funeral, that's so sweet,,,)

I love ur Lois so much!!! Lois has always reminded me of my mom and so seeing your version of Lois, one that faces similar uphill battle when it comes to work and how you can start sanding yourself down to try and get further, is amazing and touching. Can't wait to see more of this Lois, especially as she works up the ranks!

Thank you! I think that part of Lois (becoming less of yourself in order to move ahead in an industry, especially as a woman [of color]) is so underappreciated and should be explored way more.

I wonder what your design of Conner Kent would be like? What his relationship is with Jon, Clark, and Lois in your JL universe?

Meet (don't call me) Superboy! He's a clone of Superman developed by CADMUS in secret collaboration with LexCorp, for the purposes of "just in case anything happens to Superman". He's made from the DNA of Superman and Lex Luthor. What CADMUS doesn't realize is that Lex planted a trigger in Project Superboy so that he would prematurely break out of CADMUS' facility in what looks like a freak escape accident.

When Project Superboy wakes up, it's with false memories Lex planted into his mind. Superboy doesn't know much- he has a photo of what looks like him and his younger sister, and a mysterious untraceable walkie talkie relaying instructions he should follow if he wants to see his family safe again. Also he has superpowers?!

From what he remembers, he thinks his name is "Paul Westfield". He goes around America doing undercover odd jobs (unknowingly) for Lex Luthor. Sometimes it means breaking into facilities to retrieve something Lex needs and dropping it off at an undisclosed location. Despite instructions to stay hidden, Paul can't suppress his desire to help those in need when he comes by them. As he travels from town to town, Paul tries to unravel who he is and what's going on.

He'll eventually choose the name "Conner" for himself, but that's after the big mystery of his origin story! I'm in the process of fleshing out his character so we'll learn more about his relationships with Superman's cast as we go.

How would you interpret his friendship with Damian as the Supersons?

And would Damian’s Robin suit take design ques from his heritage on Talia’s side of the family like Jon’s does with Lois?

I have drawn Damian within the JL remix before, but I think that's a fun prompt as a superhero design! Here's my re-visit of Damian's Robin suit, infused with his heritage from Talia's side (along with some casual wear):

Jon and Damian's friendship is still the Supersons dynamic, but they also find comfort with each other as fellow diaspora kids.

There's an admiration and respect they have for each other, culturally, that makes their dynamic different from their respective dads' teamwork.
