Yelling at the top of her lungs. Now that was a rare sight for Meredith. Then again, this was a dire situation. Meredith is a kindergarten teacher, after all, it is her job to look after her class and make sure they grow up to become happy, healthy, responsible people.

This, of course, cannot be achieved if someone from her class goes missing.

How did everything go so wrong? This was meant to be an ordinary field-trip to the local park, a chance for the kids to run around and get some fresh air. No kids were meant to go lost, obviously, but just how did that happen? Meredith is so attentive! She called out again, loud enough to drown out the bustle of the park and probably scare away a couple flocks of birds.

“Oh, dear Heavens above, Ms. Matsumoto is going to murder me.”

But the question remains. Where exactly IS the missing girl?

Why, she is with none other than Doriane “Makes People Shit Their Pants” Argyros herself.

Tip-Tippity-Tap. That there is the sound of Doriane typing away on her phone, texting with a still-panicking Meredith, while the adorable little Mirai was sat right next to the giant woman. All that Doriane saw was a lonely little girl all on her own with no guardian in sight. Gaining the little girl’s trust was easy, too, a sure-fire sign that things would have gone south very quickly had Doriane not found her first.

More typing, more turning down any calls Meredith attempted. Doriane was in no mood to listen to her little sister’s panic-yelling.

Doriane looked away from her screen and down at Mirai, her voice surprisingly gentle and soothing for such an intimidating person.

“Tell me, kid, how did you get lost in the first place?”
