IMPORTANT CHANGES/ANNOUNCEMENTS!

Firstly, we want to thank everybody for their valuable input in our group discussion last night/this morning - we've taken everything on board, and discussed the finer details with a smaller group this morning, and have come to some agreements that we feel will be very helpful for the group as a whole moving forward.

Currently, we have 72 muses in the group, but only 22 members. We agree that this is a bit excessive, so propose the following:

We are, at this time, inviting everybody to "cleanse" their muses - this means you are welcome to drop any muses to help you with your "workload" on the dash going forward—this is not supposed to be "work", after all. To add, you are welcome to drop any muse at any time, but we think encouraging a small purge right now will be beneficial with the rest of this post taken into consideration, and encourage you only to bring/keep those you will be able to be active on and develop.

From now on, there will be two sections of the application count: a "new member" section and a "current member" section. New members are welcomed in on either acceptance day (Wednesday or Sunday), while current member applications will only be accepted on Sundays. This will ensure more time for people to flesh out their current muses before working on any others. Additionally, current members may only apply for one muse at one time.

Current members with more than five characters are now on a temporary muse freeze, in which we won't be accepting further muses from you at this time. We will lift this shortly, but for now we feel adding new muses will be detrimental to overall activity and development.

There is now a starter limit of two starters per member per week. The week will run from Sunday-Sunday. It is up to you whether you spread the starters out between muses or post both on one, but two is the maximum. Please note it is not a requirement for you to post any starters if you don't want to! Just make sure that if you do, it's no more than two per week.

This is not a new addition, but we want to call everyone's attention to starters and remind you to reply to all recent starters in the tag, and especially those with fewer notes. As admins, we will repost any starters in the allocated discord channel that we feel aren't getting enough attention, but also remind you to continue to link your own starters in there when you make them.

We know this was a very long post, but we do hope everybody will read it and comply. If each member could reply to this post letting us know you have read and understood, that would be fantastic.

As for our muse purge, please message the main with any characters you would like to drop at this time, and we'll post the unfollow list later today.

We hope you all feel seen, heard and appreciated here at Privilege, and we can't wait to see how the group progresses moving forward! We have a bunch of tasks, prompts and events coming up, and we hope you're as excited for them as we are.

Hey everyone! We are so excited with the thriving, active dash (and OOC discord!!) right now, and wanted to take a moment to remind everybody that this RP should be just this: a place for you to have fun and enjoy yourself, as it seems we all are doing, which we as admins are so grateful for! A large part of this is you not feeling uncomfortable, self-conscious or guilty when it comes to dropping, switching or changing muses.

We know many of you were here for the issue we had with a former player making people feel negatively for doing what's right for them and their muses, and have had a few people coming to us lately saying they've been worried about dropping/changing/etc since then. We have to admit, even as admins, we have been feeling the same way, but we want to remind everybody how we have said from the start, we will never penalize anyone for needing to drop/change their muses for any reason—honestly, you don't even need a reason. Muse isn't musing? No problem! Drop them and bring a new one, etc. We have admined a few groups over the years, and we have always made it clear to our members that we understand that muse is fickle and fluid, and that we will never judge you for dropping or changing.

Much like with the member before, we will not stand for other members making anybody feel guilty for doing so. To add at this time: nobody has done this since then (to our knowledge), but just to reiterate that people have been feeling uncomfy since the one member before, and again, we won't tolerate it. This is a creative outlet and should be enjoyed in whatever way is working for you. Please never feel guilty for dropping any and all muses, bringing new ones, changing FCs, whatever needs to be done to keep this a fun place for you!

Additionally, please don't feel guilty for dropping a muse because it will affect a connection—nobody's muse should rely on anybody else's to continue on. Connections can easily be dropped, changed or moved over to another muse, and anybody who doesn't agree with that might not be the best person to plot with anyway. (We say that with love to all—if you need other people to make your muse work that might not be the best in a group setting!!)

Lastly, if anybody does make you feel uncomfortable about this (or anything else for that matter) please always come to us and we will do everything we can to help.

Hi, everyone! With things going so smoothly with our starter rule implemented, we have decided we're going to open up acceptances to everybody, both new and existing members, on both Wednesdays and Sundays again! We will be keeping the rule that those with more than two current muses will only be allowed to bring in one new muse at once, but we like the idea of keeping the environment relaxed, which to us means not having to wait too long if the muse is musing!

Our two starters maximum per week rule will stay in place, as will our only one application per acceptance per member (for those with 2+ muses already). We do, of course, reserve the right to switch back to only Sundays for current members if things get too much, but we don't see this being a problem.

A COUPLE OF NOTICES!

REGARIDING ACCEPTANCES

When we started the group last week, we said we weren't going to have a set acceptance schedule. Truthfully, however, that was because we didn't expect the group to do so well (this is the absolute opposite of a complaint!!), but since it has, we've decided we're going to accept on set days and at a set time to make things a bit easier on us as admins. With that said, we'll be testing out an acceptance schedule from here on out of: TUESDAYS, FRIDAYS AND SUNDAYS at 10PM GMT/5PM EST. This may decrease to two days depending on how things go, but ideally we'll keep the three as we don't want to keep anyone waiting too long to bring their character(s)!

REGARDING OUR FIRST EVENT

Yesterday, Andie posted in the member feedback channel in the OOC discord asking who would be around for this weekend's event* and is interested in participating in the small, simple task we have planned. Most people have responded, I think we're just missing maybe three or four people, so if you haven't responded yet and you're interested in taking part, please do so ASAP so we can get things set up - we don't want to leave anyone out! We'll be posting further details of the event later today, then will make a post in the morning when event interactions can begin. *You're still able to participate in the event without reacting, however you won't be included in the task as it'll be quite specific to each member.

Hello PSU! 

Our second event is about to begin! This will be a two part event, with the first part being a scavenger hunt, and the second being a party. 

Scavenger hunt! 

The scavenger hunt will take place today 8/9 through Friday 8/16 11:59pm - you have until then to send us what you’ve found. The scavenger hunt is simple and works like this. Every character that signed up will be given a list of questions about fellow characters (Keep an eye on your disocrd DMs). These questions must be answered in character through dash convos, texts, ftfs, whatever you like but asking the player ooc is cheating, (and while we have no way of really knowing if you’re cheating, because we likely won’t be able to read every post that happens on the dash, it’s an honor system so don’t ruin the fun.) however, you are welcome to message players ooc to try and suggest connections or plots to get your characters talking and therefore able to get your answers. Also, try not to make it obvious, if your character replies to a starter with a completely unrelated question people will likely know why you’re asking. It’s not against the rules, but again, don’t ruin the fun.  Each question you get an answer to will gain that character points. Points come into play at the party, and there will be more info on that closer to party time.  While we can’t watch the dash 24/7 we will be monitoring it, and we don’t want anyone being penalized because they couldn’t get an answer to a question due to another player not being around. That said, different questions could hold different point values based on certain factors and how hard we see people working with others to get their answers, so please don’t worry if you’re just unable to get an answer but tried as hard as you could. Feel free to make note of your efforts on any unanswered questions when submitting your answers to us!  On the topic of submitting your answers, please submit all answers together to @ediemccourt. 

Zodiac Bash 

PSU will be hosting a Zodiac Bash, on Saturday 8/17. Come dressed to represent signs of the zodiac, your own or others, however inspiration strikes you. More party details to come!

PSU would like to welcome you to the beginning of the year mixer! This event is held each year to give students, faculty, staff and alumni a chance to meet before the start of the semester. Food and beverages will be available, as well as an open bar for anyone over 21 (writst band provided) Where: The ballroom of The Empire Hotel When: Saturday 7/13 @ 8PM Attire: Casual While the event takes place on Saturday evening IC, interactions can begin as early as Saturday morning (we'll make a post when they can begin) and last through the weekend. Please use the tag #psueventstarter for all starters that are taking place at the event, and #psuevent1 for all event posts. Dash interactions, texts, and ftf are all welcome, however, if an open ftf is posted, a player should claim that post by liking it and no other players should respond. If you need further explanation on this, please feel free to message us! Additionally, we did ask those willing to participate in a small task to let us know in discord and would like to fill you in on the task now. In order to encourage a bit of extra mingling we’ll be pairing up participating players to do ONE ftf with their partner. It can be between whatever characters you choose if you play more than one, and it can be completed on the dash or in discord and can be as long or as short as you’d like. We promise, we’re not trying to torture anyone, just want to give people who may not always interact a chance to branch out! You are, of course, welcome to do as many ftfs with as many characters as you’d like for the event, but will just need to do at least ONE with your pair. Hi friends! We are happy to announce our upcoming event: Let’s Get Sheet-faced, a Halloween bash!

Where: The Spare Room

When: October 31st, 8pm

What: A Halloween party, or course!

In addition to music, drinks and food, we’ll also be having a costume contest! So get thinking about your costumes! (We’ll set up a channel in the discord for people to post their costumes and we’ll announce when voting can begin, when it ends, and the winners!)

Additionally, we’ll be voting on group superlatives! Please submit your votes to the main for each superlative (one vote per player - use your OOC knowledge to vote for which character you think fits best IC), by Wednesday 10/30 at 12 noon EST. The finalists will be posted on discord for everyone to vote for the day of Halloween.

Did you feel that? It felt like the ground shook! Uh oh! There’s been an Earthquake just outside the city that has taken out the power and cell service all over the city. Emergency services have been dispatched and have forced everyone into the nearest building to shelter in place until the damage can be fully assessed. 

All characters are now on LOCKDOWN. While we recognize that these locations may not be realistic for your character to have been near, we’re going to bend reality and pretend they might be. There will be no leaving your location until told otherwise, and there will be no communication with any other characters or NPCs outside of your group. 

We have created a discord server for the event with each location to interact in, the dash will be strictly for self paras, ftfs with those in your group, or unsent texts. Discord ftfs are also allowed with those in your group. All groups have access to functioning bathrooms, plenty of water, food, blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, first aid supplies, and anything else they may need while on lockdown. 

If your character has children, that child will be with their parent for the entirety of the event. If your character has a child with another player and the players are in different groups you can discuss OOC which parent the kids are with. If you’d like to discuss OOC with another player to have your character’s child be with someone else, that is also fine. If your character has pets and it is realistic for them to have their pets, like a dog, they can have their pet with them and can assume that they have all the supplies they need along with very limited access to the outside for bathroom breaks. It is up to each player if they want their character to be worried about other pets, or suspend disbelief and pretend they don’t have pets for the length of the event. 

More announcements will come, as will changes. Please tag all dash posts with #psulockdown and #psu(lockdownlocation) with the corresponding name of the group that character is in. Additionally, we will be pausing all acceptances until the event ends. 

We will be working on giving everyone access to the correct channels now and when the event is ready to begin we will make an announcement here letting you know you can begin interactions. There is a list pinned in each category channel with the list of characters at that location. All interactions in the channels should use tupper.

Hi, everyone! A reminder to our current members that our group-wide event will begin after acceptances today, which will be taking place at the usual time of 10 PM GMT/5 PM EST. For the duration of the event, which will end 10/20, regular dash interactions will be paused—as will acceptances. For those who are not yet in the group but might be lurking, things will go back to normal after the event, and we will gladly take applications then! We will make a post later today when the event begins, so please feel free to post and interact as usual until then. A disclaimer for anyone who may be concerned about the event, as we know we have kept the details quiet, we promise that absolutely nothing sinister will happen to anybody's muses! Nobody will be put into a situation they shouldn't be, and nothing traumatic is going to happen. We have only kept things quiet because 1) the event has taken a lot of planning and setup behind the scenes and we wanted everything to be perfect, and 2) we're doing our best to keep things as authentic for everybody as possible, including character reactions.

Hi, lovelies! We're in the middle of redoing all of our pages and adding in each muse one at a time (hence the low number of characters over in our "character count" and on our pages), however we're going to have to pause and do the rest tomorrow. If you're a member already, your submissions have been received and will be dealt with ASAP tomorrow! If you're new and wondering what's going on, don't worry, we'll have everything updated by tomorrow and we'll be getting back to normal. If you're new, please hold off on applying until everything is updated, so you know which roles/FCs etc. are available. We'll make a post when you're free to send in new member applications.
