The Duke of Wellington is a pub in Southampton that dates back to the 12th century. It is one of the oldest pubs in the city and is a popular tourist destination.The pub is named after the Duke of Wellington, who was the victor of the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. The pub was originally called the Bugle Inn, but it was renamed in 1820 to honour the Duke.The Duke of Wellington is a Grade II listed building and is known for its historic interior. The pub has a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, and a fireplace that is over 400 years old. At the rear of a small L shaped bar is a large dinning area. 6X on tap. Not the friendliest pub I’ve ever been. Review 2023.
