To be honest, I really like the idea of Sanji being 100% consumed by his modifications in the last arc, but NOT the idea of him having to be put down or killed as a result.

I think instead.. his story should end with him being freed of them, at least the emotional repressions, for good.

After all, what does Sanji fear most about the modifications if not that they’ll take away his freedom? His freedom to emote. To show compassion. To love. To cook.

Now, I may just be a simple resident genius scientist-for-hire, but I don’t think that a life of imprisonment and slavery is too fitting for a man on the crew of the future freest man in the world. Even less so a tragic end. You're telling me the Sun God of Freedom wouldn't move heaven and earth like a rubber set of curtains to set his friend free of anything and anyone who ties him down? You're telling me that Sanji, the cook of the crew that leaves nothing but sheer miracles in their wake, would be so far gone that they'd only be able to put him out of his misery? Even if scientifically, it should be impossible for them to rescue him, I'm never one to count guts and hope out of the equation, and no crew has more guts or hope than the Straw Hat Pirates themselves. If anyone can bring about a miracle, it's them.

Sanji’s crew won’t kill him. Of course they won't!

When it all comes down to it, they'll do what they do best.
