hi khajiit! this is devildevotee.
baffy, he/him, the question you asked me is actually something i want to know too! in that i want to know "what is my next step?" and "what am i not seeing?" (if you don't want to/can't do two questions atm, feel free to choose between them).
for context, as you know i've been doing a lot of researching and resource gathering for the sake of knowledge. i've also been trying to get my environment to a workable state as my depression let things get dusty, messy, all that kinda stuff. i've also been trying to be balancing working hard and resting. i wanted to know if your deck or guides had an opinion for when all that is over, what is the next best thing for me to do? just generally.
additionally, i've been learning a lot of lessons from both my guides and the material i've been researching that have been giving me a lot of positive change in my mentality, but i want to know if there is anything i have failed to register that would also bring about positive change (i hope that makes sense). basically for the second question, i want to know if something has flown over my head that i should be implementing in my life.
thank you so much for offering readings! sorry this is so long haha.
Long asks my beloved. [ shoving all this context into my mouth ] /positive. Well met, internet traveler!
The spirit guide here to help is Minamitsu Murasa, from Touhou Project. She is the captain of the Palanquin Ship, and before that was a vengeful spirit who drowned ships out of essentially boredom, before being saved by Byakuren Hijiri.
The decks used are Citadel Oracle by Fez Inkwright (Dragoste, they/he/xe) as a significator - so not important to the reading itself - Seed and Sickle Oracle by Fez Inkwright (Dragoslav, he) with the Dusk guidebook, and Herbal Astrology Oracle by Adriana Ayales and Joséphine Klerks (Bonamie, she/qe).

Let's first tackle the first half of your question: What is your next step?
Pimpernel speaks about a crossroads, where no matter what the road you take, it's the right one. Ayahuasca speaks of divine message and guidance.
I think, ultimately, that means that, really, as long as you're earnest and listening to your spirit guides and all that... bit hard to fuck up!
We can also take what the rest of the meanings of Ayahuasca, which talks about rebirth, mastery, revelation, and more. Focus now on your growth and just changing into something new for growth and progress.
Your path has no wrong roads before you, and what you need to work on can be as simple as listening earnestly and moving forward. It can also note that no matter what you do, you got this in spades! No wrong answers this time.
And then: What are you not seeing?
Poppy speaks of grief, often unseen grief. Reversed Rue speaks of anger, self-criticism, and judgement.
Okay... hard question to ask: How are you feeling? You being kind to yourself? Are there emotions you're neglecting as you move forward with studying and researching? How does what you're learning make you feel, as well?
As the answer, I'd say it's that you're not recognizing your own depression very well. Perhaps you're being too hard on yourself and not focusing on self-compassion enough. You mention trying to balance working hard and resting, so I think this is a resounding "Rest more.", even if you're resting a lot already, and a "Ask yourself why you're depressed.", even if the answer is just "I just am".
Focus more on taking care of yourself during this time, and perhaps in moving forward as well. The right roads are ones lined with compassion and kindness.
Hard times can affect us and the steps we take. Make sure you heal fully before you make any major changes.

[ snaps fingers ] DANG. Got read for filth.
Ahhhh, further context so my munching and crunching makes sense. I'm currently in a difficult situation of reconnecting with my spirit guides after my haunting putting a very large gap between us that neither of us are wholly certain how to close, but we all mutually want it closed, y'know?
And I admit... that I lost a lot of trust and faith in my spirit guides to be able to provide for me thanks to it. I think that's what the advice of "simply move on" is referring to. As I've been told so many times now and as I say it myself, trust has to be given to be earned. I need to put my trust in them in order for them to earn my trust again, and I need to remember that it's not their fault my trust got damaged the way it did.
It's good to hear that it's not as drastic as it feels like it is. But not so fun about the "You gotta take action", aaaaaaugh. (lighthearted scream) I think it's again, "trust has to be given to be earned", and I need to get back into the swing of prayers and actually asking for help consistently instead of only when I'm, well, feeling up to it or desperate.
I think with the "don't let it imprison your mind part", I think it's most likely a... don't focus so heavily on the haunting and what it did to me. It's not... officially over, but I can hold it at bay for the next several years or until the end of my days (gods. I fucking hope that's not needed) if I need to. And it being held at bay still leaves me the room to do my faith and practice as necessary.
Y'know, I got scolded by my own cards yesterday about something like this, lol. So I just got bonked part 2.
Also, can I just say, I love the art on this deck. Tasty.
Here for the free readings!
Khajiit, they/them. My question is what should my next step be?
As for a fun fact about me... uhhhh. I'm incapable of whistling. Dunno why. Just have never been able to whistle. RIP me
hello khajiit! the cards i drew for you were the eight of swords, and death reversed. how this deck works, is there is a little blurb telling a story about the card, and i felt it would be worthwhile to give you the blurb as well as my own personal interpretation.
Tumblr media
VIII – eight of swords
“ a fox was tied up and its eyes were covered. it does not dare to move at all due to the swords surrounding. ”
death
ending the old and starting something new, all has an inevitable cycle of life.
what should my next step be?
the cards are saying that you're in a position currently that causes you a lot of discomfort, and like the blurb says, you're not getting a lot of wiggle room. from this, you potentially have been hesitating to process things or work through it, even when the best thing to do right now is to simply move on and let things go. move onto your next goal, your next point of focus, don't devote any more time to this and continue to let it freeze you to the bone.
eight of swords particularly says, the problems are not as difficult as you think - meaning you are capable of getting through this, hard as it may be. it may seem like a gargantuan task, but the reality is, it only seems difficult in this particular context. you are still capable of freeing yourself from this rumination, no matter the seeming impossibility.
sometimes, however, the only way out is through. it may be brutal in nature, it may be unforgiving, but you can do it. in such a case as this, you're simply going to have to bite the bullet and stop ruminating and favour action above all. it is time to do something that will leave this discomfort in the past.
and above all, do not let this imprison your mind, only dedicate enough time to think as necessary and not a single second more. it's going to be okay.

A Kipper Grand Tableau reading for @devildevotee. This was a special offer offered because of being mutuals, 'cause I need to practice it. This is currently not offered on my shop.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The chart is read via this: The italics on top is the house, and the non-italicized text is the card visiting the house. It's provided to help paint the picture, but ultimately isn't necessary for understanding as I list every card in what house below.
As a note, because the querent faces the right, so it's read left-to-right.
Kipper is also quite literal, so if this comes off more matter-of-factly than a Lenormand grand tableau, that'd be why.
⛤ ⚬ SIGNIFICATORS.
You are the Siren labeled 2, as seen in Row 2.
The significators are read in quite a few ways – First, let’s start with the row the Significator is in. This row is the most important to the Querent (That’s you!).
Gift, Good Outcome, Mediator, Sorrow, Long Road, Brief Illness, Querent, Theft, False Person.
I note Sorrow, which is a card that indicates severe pains. It sits across from Brief Illness, Theft, False Person. It is separated by Long Road, Brief Illness, and Querent. This all together essentially lays the following story: You've been through something very harsh and painful, and it's been a quite long road. It sometimes brings you periods of unwellness, physical or mental. Now, you, as the querent, feel as though something has been lost, thanks to a false person who put you through the harsh thing.
Let's look at what Gift, Good Outcome, and Mediator which sits before all of that, though. It can indicate that there's still something good in there, a kindness that you've built up for yourself or had someone else entirely build up for you.
Above you, we have your thoughts. Good Lady. The Good Lady is usually a person, but when not, she is joy, harmony, and compassion. Despite everything, you're focusing on the good things in life as much as possible, your thoughts want to be moved towards these things.
Below you, your emotions. Child. Again, when not a person, Child represents innocence, naivety, something new, and childishness. You're embarking into something new, and your emotions are swept up all in it.
In front of you, we have what you're focusing on. Theft (and also False Person which I feel is important here). Has someone been a bit of a jerk to you in the past, and did they make you feel like you've lost something thanks to what they've done?
Behind, what you're struggling with. Brief Illness. Things aren't great or necessarily happy right now - There's an air of unwellness and pain.
As well, all cards near you are more important to you: Prison, Good Lady, Rich Gent, Brief Illness, Theft, Deep Thoughts, Child, Expectations.
The people in your life are important to you - the people who support you in various ways, some of which aren't necessarily always helpful. But at the same time, you feel stuck in place sometimes, stuck in your own head, which leads to times of illness. You're prone to having high expectations, both in the form of "I must do great" and in the other form of this card, which indicates waiting for something... you're waiting for things to just get better and improve.
In your row placement, you're in the second row. While things aren't super easy, they're easier than you originally think they would be.
In your column placement, you're in the 6th column. Before you lies two rows, which is a more negative omen of how difficult it will be. The more rows ahead, the easier time, but you have two rows ahead of you.
Now, we consider your companion. I should note that the companion, while often seen to be a romantic partner, is not always. It can be a platonic partner, a friend, a coworker, a mentor, a guide, all sorts of things. This here signals down who it might be.
Surrounding the 01 Siren, the Companion, is Expectations, Hope, and Marriage.
Not many cards to grasp them this time, but this Companion is someone very near and dear to you, who has been by your side for a while now, and brings you positive things and hope for life.
You share one card around you, which can indicate a shared zone of interest: Expectations. That card means both our expectations of ourselves, and that which we are waiting for. It could simply be saying you have similar expectations of life and all about it.
⛤ ⚬ CENTER CARDS.
These cards represent the "heart" of the reading.
Long Road and Murky Thoughts. This is a neutral-lean-negative reading, with the advice within intending to help you overcome and finally finish the last leg of this journey, and to help soothe your thoughts moving forward.
⛤ ⚬ HOUSES.
This is the longest part! The drawn card visits the House of the card that belongs there and “mirrors” them, but they’re louder than the House.
Odyssey | Siren 01 / Companion. The Siren cards don't really mean anything, so in this case, Odyssey is speaking about the Companion. You've been through a lot with your companion, and can trust them to provide for you and guide you forth.
Wealth | Siren 02 / Querent. This card adds more context to you: You have a wealth of something, even if I can't say directly what it is. But this wealth supports you and is, in a way, there for you. It doesn't have to be a physical, monetary wealth.
Occupation | Marriage. Do you find your bonds to feel like obligations more than anything else as of late? Do you seek to engage with them, do you want to be near them? Or are they just another "occupation" to you right now? ...
Get Together | Get Together. ... But at the same time, do you crave being near them and being with them above all else?
House | Good Gent. The Good Gent, when not a person, represents self-confidence and stability. This can indicate a steady, stable home life right now, in some way or another.
Prison | Good Lady. The Good Lady, when not a person, represents compassion, joy, and being experienced. Where you feel stuck... you've been stuck there a lot of times before. You're used to it. It's a second home for you now, even if you wish it wasn't.
Good Lady | Letter. However, talking to others and your friends does make you feel better. It brings you peace, it brings you joy.
Rich Gent | False Person. Rich Gent is already the snarky, (usually younger, and usually a) masculine individual. He's not always necessarily pleasant, but he is rich and he is influential. He represents monetary wealth, and a successful career. In the house of False Person, it becomes a warning to stay away from less than pleasant people, because they will sap away at you and make you unhappy.
Military | Change. This is a piece of advice more than anything else. Change has to be fought for. You can't just sleep and wake your way into major life changes, you need to get up and put in the hard work for it.
Gift | Odyssey. A journey is a gift. We all embark on constant journeys, some for better, some for worse. It's time to take one of those better roads.
Good Outcome | Wealth. This is more of a reassurance piece. That you will be okay, that you'll figure it out. Wealth shines bright as a guiding star, but you'll follow it regardless of if you even try, thanks to Good Outcome.
Mediator | Rich Girl. Now, Rich Girl is typically unpleasant. A (usually younger, usually a) feminine individual who is snooty, snobby, but also very, very innocent and often immature. She sometimes intends harm, sometimes doesn't. In this case, I'd say Mediator is the Rich Girl, who is in a more favorable aspect this time. Seek out the innocent ones, for they can help you with your problems.
Sorrow | Rich Gent. I think this is emphasizing how someone like the Rich Gent is really, really bad news. Sorrow is the deepest pain you can feel, and is not something you want to be going through at all. Avoid the person like the Rich Gent at all costs.
Long Road | Woe. The Long Road is tiring. It is exhausting. It's not fun to be on, but it is a necessary road to undertake and endure going forward.
Brief Illness | Good Outcome. Whatever it is you're suffering from, it will end up okay. Do not worry so much. Peace and prosperity is around the corner.
Siren 02 / Querent | Deep Thoughts. You're in a state of a lot of thoughts and ruminating lately. Thoughts on many topics, many areas. This isn't necessarily good, or bad. It's neutral, more than not.
Theft | Gift. An odd combo, because they're essentially opposites. What has been lost has led way to something new being gained. What has been gained has led way to something being lost.
False Person | Child. The False Person, the Rich Gent indicating person, is fairly immature and naïve. They can be dealt with easily, and you should do so.
Rich Girl | Endings. I think this is indicating that your old mediator (remember back to Mediator | Rich Girl) isn't going to be the same mediator as this time. Your support system will be someone different this go around.
Parlor | House. Two very similar cards, each saying safety. House talks more about foundations, whereas parlor speaks more of privacy and secrets. You are safe and have good, strong foundations, and you should do well to protect your privacy and secrets for this time being.
Unexpected Money | Parlor. Your secrets are powerful, and will bring you unexpected boons moving forward. As well, these unexpected boons will support your home life.
Endings | Military. Military isn't always about a military officer, and can instead represent blockages, constraints, duty, and discipline. You won't be having to deal with blockages for too terribly much longer, and the things that hold you back will be resolved.
Murky Thoughts | Court. Court speaks of jealousy and conflict. I think Murky Thoughts here is just plainly pointing at that and going "Yup, that's what the thoughts are about!"
Deep Thoughts | Theft. What has been lost to you has been bringing forth many emotions and thoughts. You may be spending a lot of time thinking about it.
Child | High Honors. High Honors speaks of that which we are recognized for, and Child remains about innocence, and naivety. I think this is saying that you're not recognizing yourself enough. Give yourself more credit: You are more capable than you think of. You are doing better than you think. Be kind to yourself.
Expectation | Good Fortune. Do you find yourself waiting for the best possible moment before doing something? Or, rather, are you waiting for things to improve for you? You needn't wait, things are already good, if you look in the right places.
Hope | Unexpected Money. I often read Unexpected Money to mean any unexpected kindness. There is a lot of kindness around you, and you are supported. Have hope, and have faith in those around you in all forms. As well, this card combo could be saying to have faith that your spirit guides are there supporting you and are there for you.
Woe | Expectation. Do you often find yourself assuming the worst possible outcome? Do worries overtake you? Do you believe good things can happen to you?
Good Gent | Prison. I think this card gets a bit metaphorical - The Good Gent in your life, the kind, caring older figure is a bit lost and stuck away. Maybe you are the Good Gent, and you're not tapping into that part of you very much, and you need to rely more on that part of you.
High Honors | Mediator. Someone who has accomplished a lot will mediate for you and help you figure out what you're trying to figure out. Rely on them.
Good Fortune | Brief Illness. Despite any troubles coming your way, you will find peace and prosperity.
Change | Sorrow. I think this card emphasizes the above point. As much as things hurt and are painful, they can change. Things will get better, it's truly inevitable.
Letter | Murky Thoughts. Letter speaks of communication of all forms. There's something now muddling communication and making it harder for you to express yourself.
Court | Occupation. Work might feel like one hell of a chore lately. This refers to more than just the work we do to get paid to survive, but also work of passions, among other things.
Marriage | Long Road. Your close ones are in it for the long haul. They're not going anywhere anytime soon.
Siren 01 / Companion | Hope. Your main companion is a hopeful sort... there's not much else to this one, lol.
⛤ ⚬ THE FOUR CORNERS.
The left corners represent the past. Odyssey and Woe. It's been a very rough journey to where you are now.
The right, the future. Military and the Companion. In the future, you'll be dedicated to your companion still, but it may feel somewhat like a duty being performed than much else.
The top corners represent things out of your control. Odyssey and Military. You don't get to control what journey you're on and the duties you have to fulfill because of it.
The bottom represent things in your control. Woe and the Companion. But, you do get to control how you feel about it and who you take along for the journey.
⛤ ⚬ ROWS.
The first row depicts future circumstances. There's definitely a journey to be undertaken, that will bring you wealth of some form. You will be supported by people all around you, but it may feel somewhat stifling and like you have a duty to fulfill.
The second row depicts the present circumstances. You are most present now than you are in the past or future. There's a lot going wrong right now, but you're having hope for it getting better. You might be dealing with an unpleasant person, where another person is trying to help you with it.
The third row depicts past circumstances. Not as rough, but still fairly rough. But there is a very clear bit of hope in there. But you've been so rough on yourself out of expectations. You may have not let people in very well.
The fourth row depicts your "bottom line". You are supported by your Companion, as well as by the Good Gent. Things will change for the better, and communication will be the key. Pain is kept away from you.
⛤ ⚬ COLUMNS.
Moving from left-to-right, we see the next 8 months of your life. (Note: I'm not a fan on the "destiny is set in stone" thing, so this may come true, may not!)
Starting with the present, there's definitely a struggle, but it's one mitigated by the journey you're undertaking which is overall positive for you.
April: This is a great month for you! Wealth and Good Outcome shine kindly upon you, and Parlor protects your secrets and the parts of you you'd rather not share with others.
May: It's a heavy work month, but you will be recognized for your work. Something positive and unexpected will come to you.
June: This is a hard month - Something ends and it brings with it great sorrow. You'll find yourself relying on others, which will help you feel better.
July: The change of a long road is upon you here, even if not necessarily the end of one. Just a change. A turn or a fork, if you will. Foundations are built, but you might find yourself doubting them.
August: A harder month, with Prison and Brief Illness locking you in place and harming your wellness. It's a time for lots of thinking, and lots of communicating.
September: You'll be in the center for a while this month, with at least one supportive figure behind you. You might be trying to figure something big out.
October: Something is lost this month, but a new union is made.
November: Your companion will be at the center this month, and it's a time for high hope, even if things might not be very pleasant.
