Just getting into SadSMP, how did you come up with the idea for Rams’ character?

I actually talked about it a bit today on a stream, but originally Rams (who is of course design wise based off my sona/mascot 'Rams' although their personalities are Very different) was supposed to just be a slightly antagonistic business/capitalist since a lot of the town was nature/natural/etc. so I figured it would be nice to have an oddly modern/industrial opposition.

However quickly with time and lore I adapted Rams to instead be 'The Actual Devil' that still fell into a lot of what they already were like, but now with the added twist that helped make Rams who they are today and expand things such as their backstory/add to lore to allow things like a casino (due to gambling being sin and in general the fact Rams is a sheep is supposed to be a mockery of 'lamb of god' kind of deal)

I really can't explain how much actually streaming and playing out things in the SMP actually make the characters who they are, since in the moment you are actually able to develop and come up with ideas in the moment rather that committing to one piece of lore!

I saw someone ask this in the discord server, but I don’t know if they got an answer or not.

Will SadSMP’s generated world ever get a reset? I myself have seen this happen around most servers before, for say: Hermitcraft.

Sometimes just to give people more space for better builds, others cause nobody knows what to build anymore.

Though I know placss are still under construction, and it’d be a bummer to reset and stuff so early and get rid of the unfinished builds, etc. But it’s a genuine question and I would like to know this aswell.

Honestly, I don't think so, at least not for a very long time, if anything we'd have a higher chance of moving a fair distance away and resetting the world spawn but still keeping our old builds (or even getting a new additional server (and say we just moved really far), if the lag is getting bad)! Since we are able to warp to locations making large builds very far away is very easy and something we already do! So it lightens the load on that! I don't know if I speak for all the members but even if a build isn't used the amount of time and detail put into a lot of these builds is a bit too much for me to get rid of.

How did Rams end up realizing that there was fun to do on the mortal realm?

Rams had seen the mortal realm back in their angel days, or more so the world in general, after being banished to hell they eventually gained enough power to pop onto the mortal plane and mess around. Honestly it was mostly Rams not wanting to do work back in hell and instead have fun while having their assistants do their work for them.

Hello! When you came up with Rams’ backstory, did you ever add anything from when Rams was a child? if so, how did they act? What were they like? Dislikes? Likes? Etc?

Rams being the devil was created as an angel, so Rams never was a child. They popped into existence one day already knowing who and what they were.

They were originally very fancy and by the book, before they fell Rams (Lucifer at the time) was relatively peaceful before they realized the horrors of 'becoming mortal' and 'losing their powers' and rebelled against the Emerald Wyrm (SadSMP's version of God)
