There was some speculation before that Sand has a history with drunk driving, and I was originally banking on his father being involved, but that could’ve been disproven last episode. It did get me thinking about how Sand reacted when Ray asked about his father though…and maybe there is some sort of a history there? Since Sand is confirmed to know who is father is, maybe he knows he had a history with drunk driving (possibly even killing someone in the process?).

Wild theory: when Ray is at the lowest of the low, he gets into a drunk driving accident. And who does he hit? Sand’s mom.
