Yet I hope that the east wind will come early, as long as there is faith, there is hope. Clear are the waters of the Yangtze, always emerald are the mountains, there are birds returning to their nest, there are fishermen singing their evening songs. This is our home, our beautiful native land. Everyone is protecting her regardless of life or death, how can I stand idly by? I have already been carrying our child Ping’an for three months, I never told you as I feared it might distract you. I think, we cannot care just for our child, and neglect the children of Eastern Wu. I wish to see them grow up together, to have a future where they can play by the river, swim, admire the flowers, and plant rice in peace. Do not worry about me. I will bring Ping’an home.

TN: 平安 (píng ān) means “peace, safety”. The last sentence can thus be understood in two ways: 1) Despite walking into danger, Xiao Qiao will bring their child (Ping’an) home safely, or 2) By going to Cao Cao’s camp, Xiao Qiao will do what she must to help restore peace.
