On the train home reviewing photos from a site visit on the UES this morning. It's an excellent space and classic example of the traditional Irish Pub, but the aesthetic, which is reminiscent of Cheers was clearly overtaken by clutter and failed attempts by the previous owners at transition to a sports bar and embracing *rustic* design. What they ended up with is a careworn pub bedecked with TV's, speakers, random cables, a mishmash of design elements. In other words it's tired and as @jecadis said "it's a pretty girl in an ugly dress. We can fix this." This is our specialty - transforming the tires abs forgotten bars and restaurants of NYC into vibrant new spaces! • We were given a mandate of #midcenturymodern as our guiding aesthetic!
