Chloe was not the kind of girl to stand up for herself unless she really didn't have a choice. She preferred to let things go if possible. So even when someone, in this case some drunken asshole, started getting a little too forward, she usually just... ignored the situation, let the fear settle inside of herself and walked a little faster in the hopes that they'd leave her alone if they didn't get a rise out of her. But Shay was her antithesis, it seemed. Because although Chloe had convinced her to ignore the man's cat calls ("there's no point in stirring things up, Shay. If we ignore him and keep walking, he'll stop."), when the man had suddenly grabbed Chloe by the arm and yanked her back, Shay, apparently, had decided that enough was enough. And Chloe wasn't going to stop her this time. When the confrontation was over, however, her first thought was to check on her friend- physically, mentally, emotionally, "Hey? Are you alright?" She couldn't heal herself, but if Shay had gotten herself hurt Chloe could take care of it- though she'd have to do so subtly. After all, her friend didn't yet know about her little "gift", "Thanks for that. He kinda freaked me out. Usually if you walk away they get bored and leave you alone. I didn't think he'd-" She felt her skin crawl. Nothing had happened, exactly, but she was still pretty shook up over it. She was also thankful that she hadn't been walking home alone.

Chloe was silent for a moment, letting the words settle over her. He wished he had known how much she'd loved him. She'd thought she'd made it clear, but apparently she'd been wrong. Then again, she'd been wrong about a lot of things in their time together, "If you had, would it have made any difference?" The nurse finally asked, a small shrug joining her words. She'd done her best to move forward, and she'd assumed the same of him. She cut him off before he could even open his mouth to answer, "It's in the past. It doesn't really matter now, does it?"
