This isn't my usual blog content but I need help! My mother has a opossum that comes to her house every night to eat the cat food and sleep in the cat box. 3 days ago it showed up and it's entire nose and snout has been ripped off. It's skull is visible. I live in West Virginia and there are no wildlife sanctuaries to take it to for help. I have been trying to contact a private wildlife rehabilitator for the last 3 days with no response. It is illegal to take it across state lines, even though there is a wildlife hospital only 2 hours away from me in Virginia.

Please if anyone knows who I can get in contact with who may be able to help please let me know!

I've been trying to get my hands on this book for awhile, and a few days before my birthday it was reprinted for only the third time. All my money went into the house and I couldn't justify a selfish purchase, but my friend got this for me as a birthday gift 😭 I'm so excited! 🖤

Earlier this week my sister and I closed on a house. Tonight, this happened AT OUR HOUSE.

TW; Graphic description & picture of a dog including- blood, post-surgery, eye removal, cancer/tumor.

My sweet old girl Lita has a tumor in her head that is growing and was pushing the eye out of it's socket. While our local vet couldn't do anything about the tumor he was able to remove her eye. We don't know if the tumor is cancerous or not but she is no longer in pain and that's what's important right now. She does have a cancerous spot on her lip but the vet didn't want to remove it because of how much he would have to take off around it.

Lita is home now and resting. She's feeling so much better without the eye. This all came completely out of the blue. She was fine one day and the next her head was so swollen her eye was popping out. She's 14 years old, so if her time is near we know she's had a good life with us where she knows she has been unconditionally loved 🖤

Since the closing date for the house was moved again 😒 I'm spending today going through personal belongings. I'd like to get rid of a lot of stuff and have a yard sale. But I do love my knick knacks. Anyone have some advice to help get rid of stuff? I have a severe case of "I don't need it, I don't have a use for it, it doesn't interest me anymore, but I want it."

Y'all it was a rough fuckin day.

They are now at an animal sanctuary being taken care of, and should hopefully one day be released back into the wild.

I cannot reiterate enough.
