what was first just a simple attempt for me to use aesprite - ended up allowing me to create one of the coolest ocs ever and liking him a bit too much 😭 shaped to be the best brother to an unfortunate brother f/o, i wanted rhys to be someone worth looking up to and appreciating but apparently it just got too good for me that i ended up crushing on him (+ me and my friends made him so goofy that i ended up liking that part too HEHEHE)

and because of that. layla briar was born ‼️‼️

they're currently one of my favorite side ships to visit from time to time - they're so silly and cute to me - it brings more lightheartedness to how dark the actual story is, and while there's not much complex stories about rhys and the others in general, im super happy to have created them and rhys got fuckin certified as the Cool Brother™ on twt pkpst perdition 😭😭 what an honor

also shoutout to SOMEONE who thinks rhys is hot because ure so right bestie HE IS GOTDAMN‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️🩶🩶🩶🩶

figured id make a bigger post about carmine and my insert/oc rhys :]] he's exclusive to the pokepasta perdition mod only

i do have a little story cooking right now, so here it is vvv (dont feel obliged to read it idm! i also like archiving my stuff here)

initially i was incredibly sympathetic over carmine's status as the tormented trainer. i was very interested with how the devs reimagined creepy black to look like because carmine is a character made for the mod only so i just looked at carmine and went :] aw lil guy...

I wanted to try to copy the perdition artstyle... so i chose creepy black's color palette and accidentally made a brother along the way 💥 told myself eventually that - yeah I think carmine needs a nice big brother

rhys is a relaxed, laid back kanto champion. red - or should I say, PROFESSOR REDwood is a retired trainer so his champion days are over for sure, and rhys is the current champion in whatever year it's taking place.

i haven't thought too deep to really stitch the story together but as the story goes, carmine goes on an unexpected rampage to curse every trainer and pokemon (which kills them in the process) which prompts professor redwood to really investigate what's going on. rhys, who's learning about the casualties as time goes on - puts his champion duties on hold to also investigate what's happening - he doesn't even know that carmine was the one partially responsible for this - so at the same time, rhys is looking for carmine to protect him from this mass genocide...

he feels regretful, perhaps he shouldn't be too relaxed and reassured that his little brother can do things on his own. but then again, it's not like rhys has all the time either to be with him. being a champion is such a chore, isn't it?

i imagine a sequence where redwood confronts carmine and ghost as the mod plays out, taking place in the abandoned pokecenter. rhys would hear this commotion and try to look into the place, and would soon discover that the perpetrator is carmine and the horrid ghostly entity that plays puppet on his poor brother. even if it was his first time seeing them, the strange aura was all too familiar because rhys swears he feels that sensation everytime he witnesses another accident. it's definitely gotta be them, but why carmine?

love the idea of a one on one confrontation with rhys and carmine tho... it's your brother but you need to stop this madness, what're gonna do?

redwood and rhys probably band together to figure out how to stop this thing (but we'll never know if they're successful or not)

okay, i am quite curious about you too so i have a question: how did you land on working for the perdition mod? since its just the demo, should we probably expect more updates or nah? if you can't answer that last part, it's all ok!!

As for how I joined the mod, unfortunately I joined years ago when I was still friends with Rightburst, and he was in the mod at the time and got the devs to add me :[.

Def expect more updates to the mod!! We're planning on going way more in-depth with the lore, a lot more cutscenes and stuff like that, plus lots more songs!! (I've got my own special lil' guy that I've been given direction privileges over that I think people are going to enjoy very very much ;D)

i honestly can't help but adore the way rhys looks (the one made for me) because i already had the concept in mind that despite rhys appearing as someone who's enjoying the life as a worldwide winner (he's the current kanto champion), he's still very humble, calm and he tries his best to attend to others needs' (he's the type of guy to give his signature to any fan who finds him and he doesn't get mad. he may be a busy guy but he's willing to give time to others)

there's rarely ever a time where you see him get mad, he's not that kind of person. he would just nod his head and smile. it's almost passive-aggressive but you wouldn't be able to tell, only he does. perhaps carmine too.

the only time he genuinely does get mad is if it has something to do to risk with something he loves dearly. it could be his pokemon, or his friends and family. but he wouldn't be able to be harassed that way with a worldwide high status, no? definitely not.

it wouldn't be the case until he hears about the rumors of a dangerous event going on, and several cases of missing people.
