El Edificio Celanese de la Avenida Revolución, fue obra del arquitecto mexicano Ricardo Legorreta Vilchis en el año 1968, cuya estructura destacó por tener un aspecto elegante para su época. Como tal fue construido alrededor de una gran columna de concreto, mientras que el el resto de la construcción se fijó alrededor de este punto fijo que lo sostiene. Dicha columna es el único punto de anclaje de todo el edificio al suelo.

Funcionalidad: El museo está enfocado al aprendizaje, la comunicación y convivencia de los niños a través de exposiciones interactivas de ciencia, tecnología y arte, su tarea es propiciar el aprendizaje significativo a través de experiencias que acercan al niño a comprender el mundo que le rodea por medio de herramientas que le permiten experimentar, participar, conocer, explicar, vivir, sentir y cuestionar su entorno. 
Paisajismo: El humedal es un cuerpo de agua con una superficie de 655 m2, proyectada para contar con un nivel de superficie libre del agua constante, su batimetría cuenta con tres profundidades generales: 30 cm, 60 cm y 1.20 m, con un volumen de almacenamiento de 393 m3. Se realiza la representación de 5 ecosistemas que hay dentro de la ciudad de México, como el humedal, parque húmedo, bosque tropical, matorral y pared rocosa. Se encuentran chinampas, las macro jardineras de ahuehuetes el cual fue seleccionado como árbol nacional de México llegando a medir hasta 40 m de alto. Se pueden ver gaviones rellenos de piedra braza, la península de sauces los cuales puedes llegar a medir entre 8 y 12m, vegetación acuática, ahuejotes que tienen un crecimiento rápido y su altura oscila entre 1 a 13 m, y por último se encuentran las estacas de madera.

RICARDO LEGORRETA Ricardo Legorreta Vilchis (Ciudad de México, 7 de mayo de 1931 - Ibídem, 30 de diciembre de 2011) De 1948 a 1952 estudió la licenciatura en Arquitectura en la Escuela Nacional de Arquitectura de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México y trabaja en el taller de José Villagrán García hasta 1960, año en que funda su despacho en sociedad con Noé Castro y Carlos Vargas. La obra de Legorreta se basa en el manejo de las proporciones, en la creación de espacios elementales, en el color intenso y la contundencia de elementos estructurales y arquitectónicos, los cuales son integrados en escasos materiales y una escala monumental. Su arquitectura es regional y responde a las necesidades de su entorno cultural.
