May 27, 2024 - White-rumped Monjita (Xolmis velatus)
Found in parts of Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay, these tyrant flycatchers live in savannas, shrublands, and pastures, often near water. Usually foraging in pairs, they eat insects, dropping onto their prey from a perch or capturing it in short flights. They nest in old burrows built by flickers and parakeets.
