(Also as someone who's had my own Sol character ideas and not posted them at all, I'm completely unbiased when I say Sol!Knuckles being a Binturong is a cool idea. I found out about them while making my idea of a Sol!Knuckles and think they're cool as fuck now. In a completely unbiased way, obviously.)

I was thinking that since blaze's dimension is more fantasy than sonic's sci Fi aesthetic, she (who when describing the concept to my brother I called "Frost", when Rime is so much fucking cooler) would be some kind of witch or vampire, because what would the ultimate lifeform be in a fantasy setting? A sorceress or a vampire lord, as either could be immortal depending, and given that ice thematically is associated with prolonging life (or at least preserving bodies after death), her ice powers have double effectiveness in theme as a contrast to blaze. Love that you also thought about the ice skating too

Hmm. Rime could have been created by a sorceress, similar to Shadow being created by a scientist (Gerald). Maybe she didn't even originally have ice powers but a side effect of being frozen for years meant she.. absorbed them?? From the magic that kept her frozen or smth?? Or maybe a parting gift from her brother before he dies 👀

Headcanon: Rime is a prankster and her favorite prank is to freeze the people's drinks in the very second they look away.

Her favorite target is Blaze's teas, the firey meow meow gets really peeved whenever it happens

If I'm not mistaken, you've already shared here that Rime has no interest on becoming a parent herself... But considering the polycule, how would she deal if in a point Blaze & Amy expressed this desire and decided to adopt a kid themselves? How supporting would she be? Would there be a chance of her get emotionally involved with this child as much as Blaze & Amy eventually, thus feeling like a parent to this child as well?

Or even, if they used some magic or advanced science stuff to have a child following the whole pregnancy process themselves, how would Rime feel about it? How supporting would she be in that case? How curious would she be about Blaze or Amy's experience of being pregnant?

I've got the feeling that this ask got a really weird turn... If so I apologize and say you to feel free to delete and disregard this ask if it somehow makes you uncomfortable

Not weird at all!! Honestly I think this is a fun topic to address.

If Blaze expressed interest in having children earlier on in the relationship, Rime would be kinda disgusted and shoot the idea down. But, by the time the polycule is in place she would actually be pretty supportive! She's conceded by this point that her issues with parenthood are due to her own upbringing, but being a third party is more manageable for her.

In this au at least one of Amy and Blaze are trans, so they could have a biological child! However it works, I'm leaning more towards Amy carrying the child. At this point Amy and Rime's relationship is... maybe a little strange to outsiders, given the circumstances. They're amicable towards each other but not extremely close, but the pregnancy would actually bring them closer! Blaze would be the protective and fretful one, while Rime is perfectly assuring that Amy can take care of herself and the baby and doesn't treat her any differently to usual, which Amy likes.

Once the kid is actually born, Rime would be basically that wacky family friend who always has wild stories to tell and takes you on fun trips. Except ofc she's also dating one of your parents. She'd be the type to be like "oh your moms said no sweets? Well what if I bought you ice cream anyway? I won't tell if you won't!" She'd probably also try sparring with the kid when they're only like 5 LOL

So yes! She would be involved with the kid's upbringing, just not as a traditional parent. In general, she doesn't care too much about kids but because she just treats them as little people and doesn't baby them, they usually take a liking to her, and the blazamy kid would be no different!

Suddenly got wondering what a Sol!Silver could be...

Would she be solely a hydromancer or an aeromancer, as water and wind are two known ways to put fires out as well as one of the main advantages Silver got over Sonic is that his power can nullify Sonic's main power? (Although, wind itself uses to boost fires as it is generally full of oxygen and we just can blow candles because we exhale carbon dioxide in our breath, thus depriving the little fire of its necessary oxygen)

Would she be like the Avatar and have control of air, water, earth and fire all together?

Would she also be a psychic, but with focus in a different side, such as telepathy and extrasensory abilities?

Would she get to control gravity, with the object tossing being a secondary use of her power instead of her main power? (Much like Blaze to Sonic, her main power is pyrokinesis/pyromancy and her speed is rather boosted by it, on contrary to Sonic who's got speed as main power and everything else is derived from this)

Would she get portal generation? (Unrelated, I just think portals are cool)

I guess she would still be from the future, and seeing as I've changed Eggman Nega to be from the sol dimension too she could have been chasing him back to the past. Well I don't need to worry about that now lol I can come up with plot later.

In terms of her power... Hm. Rime already has the perfect powers to be opposed to Blaze, with her ice and nullifying magic so I don't want sol Silver to have anything too similar (although I do love all your ideas!) I actually want to go the opposite way and make her more tech based rather than having innate powers! That way she can have a literal portal gun LMAO. Ok maybe not quite, but some sort of tech that lets her travel to the past, where she can actually control where she goes.

While Silver is from a future where having powers is the norm, sol Silver's future may have lost all powers. Which can give Rime and Blaze something to worry about! (I imagine in the present time, about just under half the sol population has some sort of magic).

Not uncomfortable at all, I don't see mobian "nudity" as anything comparable to ours, they're little animals after all. All the male characters go around mostly naked anyway, I see it as just a cultural thing that girls tend to wear more clothes.

Rime would probably keep her skirt on as she likes the swishy feeling of it, but finds tops quite restrictive. She has a lot of chest fur (and bust lol) so trapping it all under a top doesn't feel that great!

Hi, hello! Binturong anon with a lot of word vomit here, so be warned. I just read your reply to my ask and I'm so happy right now! I was slightly worried for a bit that you didn't like my silly little story, but hearing that you put off posting it because you liked reading it made me feel warm inside. And you want to draw it someday??? 😳 I can't believe this I'm hdhdjgk

As for my Sol OCs, I do have a few that are specifically parallels, but I'm never quite happy with them. There's always so many good ideas and I sometimes end up finding other people's takes on them that are SO cool (like Rime!) or that have ideas I was thinking of and I'm suddenly paranoid that I'm ripping off somebody else's character...

I absolutely get the struggle of deciding things like species, there's so many cool animals to use and I freaking struggled deciding on ones for mine. The Knuckles one is probably one of the most complete actually, but unfortunately I cannot show you her or any others because I'm not an artist. 😞 So I just rotate them all in my head until I think "Nice" and put it down on a digital notepad. I'm always interested to see others create their takes on them though! I'm certainly interested in all of yours!

I never considered Team Dark, apart from my Sol Shadow, who's definitely the least thought out. There's so many other cool ones out there, so I never really bothered. The few I have, if you're curious, are supposed to be Knuckles and Amy, to round out Blaze and Marine's Classic Quartet basically. And also a different Sol Eggman, because Blaze's nemesis being Eggman in G-major feels like a kick in the face to both Blaze and the actual Eggman 😒. (I also have a Sol Big but she's technically a joke character. She's also really small. I gave her a dinosaur though, as all women deserve.)

Anyway, basically just wanted to let you know that Rime is cool and I'm going to be thinking about that reply for the foreseeable future. Have a good week!

But! Yeah!! I think it's cool seeing other people's ideas for stuff like this, like I know for sure there are other versions of Sol Shadow out there that are ice powered cats like Rime!! I don't rlly think it's the end of the world if people independently come up with the same ideas as long as you don't purposefully copy anyone.

God you're so right about there being so many cool animals to choose from... Sol Rouge was easy for me but everyone else is being a pain skfjfhdgd. Eventually I'll figure them out though. (One day I promise...) Also! It seems like you have the descriptions of characters down even if you can't draw them, so you could always commission someone!!

I love the idea of Sol Amy too, I personally have 0 ideas for them so might not design my own version tbh. But having a Sol Classic 4 is super cute! You could have a lot of fun with their designs too, the way classic Amy looks pretty different from modern Amy. Sol Eggman too... I've just kinda retconned Nega and made him actually be from the Sol dimension idc about canon LOL I haven't thought about it too much.

Also TINY SOL BIG??? I'm in love that's so cute and such a fun alt version. With a dinosaur too FUCK yes.

I really love how imaginative people are when it comes to the Sol dimension, actually giving it more characters and lore! If sega won't give it love then at least we will 😤

Sol!Knuckles could also be a thylacine, as they are also called "tasmanian tigers" or "tasmanian wolves" due to their similarities to said species despite being from different family and genus

Also, like the real life echidnas, they inhabited Australia prior to their extinction

If Knuckles and Sonic are creatures that look sorta similar irl (spikey) but are extremely unrelated, maybe sol Knuckles should look like a cat but be smth very different too... Hrm. Thinking and pondering

The Sol Omega could be made by Eggman Nega or Captain Whiskers since they're both Blazes main antagonist and Whiskers is able to build his own robots too. The only catch would be a Sol Omega built by Whiskers would be pirate themed.

Being pirate themed could be very cool 👀 I do like that. I thought Eggman and Nega built all the badniks I didn't realise Whisker built any himself but either way... Pirate sol omega could be the way to go... It's not a catch it's a bonus!

And yeah I imagine (via the comments by @transgendershadowthehedgehog :3 ) that the sorceress would be trying to preserve his life (maybe with the hope that in the future they would have a cure), and end up going down the crygenics route! With Rime being an experiment towards that, like what sort of being would survive being frozen.

Interesting interesting, I love the idea of her too with a big fuck off crossbow instead of guns idk. This would definitely be expanding on what little lore the Sol dimension has by adding vampires and stuff. Although Sonic turned into a werewolf so why the hell not!!

Question about Rime and Blaze’s relationship, is Blaze also aro? Then again you have mentioned that she gets together with Amy as well at some point so maybe she’s some flavor of aro? Demiromantic maybe, idk

Ngl, I never really put much thought into it! As some vague flavour of aromantic myself I tend to just handwave the details LOL.

I would have said no but demiromantic does fit well, as while Blaze finds her aro relationship with Rime freeing (eventually lol) she also happily develops a romantic relationship with Amy. So she sits in the middle of Rime who is very much aro, and Amy who very much isn't. Luckily, they end up getting along rlly well!
