You know what..I am gonna say it
I don't know how everytime Ishan makes it to the trending page on Twitter, some negative PR pops up.
Also people who are saying that him training with Hardik Pandya is ass licking. Then where are these people when Surya and Bumrah show support to Rohit. Surya's love for Rohit is considered loyalty but Ishan's love for Hardik would be considered ass licking. Such hypocrites.
Also Ishan had made it clear very early on that the Hardik took him under his wing pretty early on. So it is rather Ishan is very loyal to Hardik despite Hardik getting so much hate. Also people saying Ishan should spend more time with Rohit instead of Pandya speaks so much about the obvious favouritism in Indian Cricket Team.
Also I want to just say, I personally consider IPL as a cricket fest. Players come together to enjoy cricket for once and here our Indian team is fighting like cats and dogs for a mere IPL team captaincy. I mean Rohit should understand he is the captain of the Indian Team and this childishness of following-unfollowing is just kind of pointless. I never see Virat doing so. And I AM A ROHIT SHARMA FAN TOO. He was the reason I am part of MI Paltan.
Calling Hardik Pandya 'chappri' and 'disloyal' and what not for franchise cricket when he has given a lot to the National Team is so toxic of the fans. Why do we forget that before IPL...WE ARE THE INDIAN NATIONAL TEAM.
Pulling in a youngster, a 25 year old in this fight is almost like pulling in Abhimanyu in the Chakravyuh and ruthlessly killing him. That kid has always been humble and never failed to praise Rohit's captaincy. But now when he chose to train with his family in cricket...He is being brashly hated for it. That kid has performed whenever he got a chance yet he is being played around like a toy. Even Sunil Gavaskar considers him a "a rare talent".
WHY ARE WE LETTING AN IPL CAPTAINCY BREAK DOWN ICT WHICH IS LIKE A FAMILY. THIS TOXIC INDIVIDUAL PLAYER SUPPORTING FANDOM HAS BEVER BROUGHT GOOD TO THE GAME.
So I think Ishan is absolutely right for training with Hardik because he never wanted this war and he never wanted to pick sides. He is being caught in the crossfire and people telling him to side Rohit for a place in team actually speak a lot about favouritism.
THAT WAS ALL FROM MY SIDE AND THIS IS JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION. PEACE OUT✌️
Hoping Ishan come back stronger than ever and God is with him🧿🧿🧿🔱🔱🔱

Fandom: Cricket RPF
Characters: Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Shahneel Gill, Mentions of other Gill family members, Cameo by Rohit Sharma
Genre/Tags: Sickfic, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Indian Cricket Team
Warnings: Descriptions of illness and vomiting
Summary: A delirious Shubman with very high fever calls Ishan when the team is in Delhi for their match against Afghanistan and babbles in punjabi thinking it to be his didi on the line
Notes: Many many thanks to @ispeakmorelanguagesthanyou for encouraging my randomest ideas and also for beta reading, and to @textrovert-01 for helping me with the Punjabi parts, this fic would not have been possible without both of your love 🥰
Enjoy, and please let me know how y’all like it :)
Shubman curled up morosely in the covers. The team had left for Delhi, and Ishan had gone with them, leaving an aching void inside him. Logically he knew that they'll meet again, but at that point he felt like crying.
Reaching his hand out to the adjacent bed, Shubman grabbed the blanket from Ishan’s bed and held it close to his nose, hoping to breathe in the scent of Ishan's perfume, gagging as the scent of the hotel laundry detergent hit his already over sensitive nose. He grabbed onto the bucket kept at the side and dry heaved over it several times, unable to bring up much but strings of saliva, his abdominal muscles crying at the intensity of the heaves. God how he wished Ishan was there. Ishan would have rubbed his aching back in soothing circles and whispered soft reassurances to him just like his Ma used to do when he got sick as a child. His eyes burned with tears as he remembered the warmth. He missed her so much.
After several more minutes of dry heaving, he straightened up as the nausea passed, and fell back onto the bed feeling absolutely drained. He grabbed his phone, seeking to mindlessly scroll through social media for a while, hoping to distract himself.
The edits of Ishan and himself on Instagram only made him miss Ishan more, tears trickling down his eyes as he remembered those moments. He had been so happy during those, blissfully unaware of their pictures being clicked. He cried silently, feeling all alone and lonely in the cold hotel room. He missed everyone so much, his dada, dadi, mumma, papa, didi, Ishan, everyone on the team, but didn't want to worry them any more.
As if on autopilot, he opened his call log and hit the first contact, his Di. The one who had tolerated him crying and whining all afternoon after the one time one of his petty squabbles with Ishan had got too personal and they had both angrily decided “never to talk to each other again”. Of course they had both cried to each other and made up the same evening, but the fact remains that he did so only because Di had told him to, because that's how well she knew him.
*
The sound of his phone ringing woke Ishan from his sleep, and he squinted against the glare of the screen to look carefully at the caller. He winced when he saw it was Shubman who had been calling him, because he knew he had to be feeling really horrible to give up and call him, after being determined to toughen it out by himself.
Heart beating faster than a rabbit, Ishan swiped across the screen to pick the call. He hoped it wasn't anything too bad.
“Hey Didi” Shubh whispered exhaustedly, his Punjabi accent completely unmasked.
Ishan winced. Shubh really had no clue that he had called the wrong person, and seemed way too out of it to even realize.
“Tussi ki kar rahe ho?” (What’re you doing?) Shubh asked in Punjabi. Ishan’s heart broke at the vulnerability in his voice, and he debated whether to let him know that he had called the wrong person. Rohit bhaiya raised a concerned eyebrow from the opposite end of the room they were sharing, and Ishan mouthed the matter to him, looking at him desperately for an answer.
“Didi, ki tussi mere toh naraz ho ke mei tuhanu kal phone ni kitta? Sorry behn mei so gya si.” (Didi? Are you mad at me that I didn’t call you yesterday? I’m so sorry, I’d fallen asleep)
Ishan’s heart shattered at how heartbroken Shubh sounded. He had seen it several times firsthand how emotional Shubh got when he was sick, and how prone he was to overthinking the littlest things. But should he break the news that he had called the wrong person? A head shake from Rohit bhaiya told him “No”, and Ishan agreed. No need to make him panic more than he already is, Ishan reckoned.
"Bilkul ni pagal , mere tere son krke tere to naraz kyo howangi jadke mei hi tenu zyada son layi keha si ?"(Of course not, you idiot, I wouldn't get mad at you for sleeping when I was the one who asked you to sleep more? ) Ishan replied back in Punjabi, trying to replicate Shahneel Di’s way of speaking.
That seemed to satisfy Shuh, who hummed and sniffled on the other side.
“Ki hoyea Subhi? Das menu”(What happened, Shubhi? Tell me.)
“Kuch ni, bs sabdi bohot yaad ari si, khaas karke ma di, ohnanu keho ke meri zyada chinta na karan thik he?” (Nothing… I just miss everyone so much.. Especially Ma.. Tell her not to worry too much about me though, alright?”)
Ishan sighed. He was sure Aunty was worried like anything, and she definitely had reason to worry as well, given how Shubh was so delirious he could not even recognise the fact that he was not actually talking to his Didi..but he did have a point though, Aunty did tend to worry a lot behind her always smiling persona, and she also had problems with her blood pressure, and she'd probably worry herself sick if she knew exactly how terrible her son's condition is.
“Thik he, par tu ohnanu phone zrur kar lai, oho kaafi chinta krde ne.”(Alright. But you make sure to call her, okay? She's been really worried.)
“Oho bohot hi zyada chinta krdi hein, vese oh kr ki rahi hei?”(She worries too much…what's she doing anyway?)
Ishan cursed under his breath. Fuck, what Does aunty do at this time anyway? He had played along all this time, he just hoped this would not give him away.
Remembering something Shubh had told him ages ago about Aunty loving historical documentaries, Ishan answered as casually as he could.
“Oh koi etihasik documentary ja dekh rahi hei…” (Oh you know, watching some kind of historical documentary…) Ishan prayed desperately that Shubh wouldn't ask him to hand it over to Aunty, because then he'd be Screwed with a capital S.
Shubh hummed over the phone, apparently satisfied with the answer. Ishan breathed a sigh of relief, glad his cover had not been blown yet. However he was not sure how much longer he could keep this act up.
Shubman on the other hand, had fallen dangerously silent over the phone, and that worried Ishan. His worry grew tenfold when he heard what seemed like Shubh being sick over the line. Why weren't the nausea medications working, Ishan wondered for the nth time that week.
After a while, Ishan heard Shubh exhale shakily over the phone.
“Haye rabba jo kuj vi ho reha menu kuj acha ni lag reha..” (Oh God I hate this…) Shubh choked out, his voice cracking towards the end.
Ishan sat helplessly with the phone pressed to his ear. It broke his heart to hear his friend cry over the phone, and be unable to help him anyhow. How he wished he could be there by his side, comforting him when he needed it..
Shubman also seemed to reciprocate the same idea, because after a while Ishan heard him brokenly say “Menu Ishaan di vi bohot yaad aari he, kaash oh mere naal hunda” (I wish Ishan was there with me, y'know?..)
A pause. Ishan was starting to reconsider his decision of playing along when Shubh started speaking again.
“Mei onhu bohot yaad kar reha ha, Didi” (I miss him so much, Didi)
“Fer tu onhu phone kyu ni krda? Menu pura yakeen he oh bohot khush howega” (Why don't you call him, then? I'm sure he'd love to hear from you..” Ishan suggested, completely immersed in his character.
“Nahi, Di...bohot der ho gyi he is velle mei osnu pareshan ni krna chahunda. Kal oda match he, Onhu aram di bohot lor he. Jado da mei bimar hoye ha vichara thik naal soye hi nahi, adi raat nu jado mera bukhar vaad janda ta oh thandi pattiya karda, meri pith ragarda, jad mere lai bohot hunda ta oh mera sahara banda. Tohanu pta he di, ohda moda bohot hi sukoon dayak he..”(No, Di…it's late, I can't disturb him.. He has a match tomorrow, he needs to rest.. Poor dude has not slept properly since I got sick, y'know? Kept waking up to put cold cloths over my forehead when my fever got too high in the middle of the night, rubbing my back when I got sick, letting me cry over his shoulder when everything got too much… He has such a nice and comforting shoulder, y'know Di?)
Ishan smiled through the burning of his eyes. Shubh was so adorable when he rambled in Punjabi, completely oblivious of whether the other person was understanding or not. It melted his heart that Shubh had noticed everything, but also made him sad that he was being so hard on himself for that.
“Mei tohanu bohot yaad karda ha, didi. Papa te mummy nu keho menu ohna di bohot yaad aundi he. Par oh zyada pareshan na hon, ohna di tabiyat kharab ho jawegi.” (I miss you so much, Di..Tell papa and ma I miss them too, okay? And ask Ma not to worry so much, she'll get sick)
“Ha thik he. Tu vi hun son di koshish kr. Mei tenu jaldi milan awangi, thik he?” ( I will. Now you try to sleep, okay? I'll meet you soon, alright?” Ishan continued in his best Shahneel Di impression.
“Thik he, bohot sara pyaar tohanu didi..” (Okay.. love you, Didi..)
“Tenu vi bohot sara pyaar Shubhi, hun son di koshish kar thik he?”(Love you too, Shubhi. Now try to get some sleep, alright?)
“Han ji didi” (I will, Didi) Shubh replied, stifling a yawn. He felt absolutely drained, but atleast Di was there, and she didn't seem to mind listening to him.
“Papa te mummy nu vi mere vallo bohot saara pyaar dena, thik he?” (Tell Mumma and Papa I love them too, okay?)
“Han han zrur, chal theek he good night.” (Yeah, yeah, sure. Now goodnight.)
“Goodnight, Di”
Ishan cut the call, feeling a weird mix of drained and comforted. It felt wrong to provide false comfort, but false comfort was also comfort, right?
Rohit bhaiya dragged him to sleep, putting a stop to his spiraling thoughts. “So jao aur sone do,” (Sleep and let me sleep) he muttered sleepily, before turning over and going right back to sleep. Ishan smiled at the childishness that came out of a tired Rohit bhaiya before going back to sleep himself.
*
Meanwhile in a hotel in Chennai, Shubman slept like a log, his heart warm as he recalled memories of the good times with Ishan.

Bollywood Movies Part CCVIII
Tumblr media
Inspector Jatil Yadav (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) investigates the murder of the influential Raghubeer Singh (Khalid Tyabji) on his wedding night to his young second wife Radha (Radhika Apte). As Jatil investigates, he learns more about Raghubeer’s proclivities and about family secrets long left undisturbed, including the truth about the death of Jatil’s first wife (Natasha Rastogi).
CW for movie: human trafficking, rape, sexual abuse of a minor, some gore. Raat Akeli Hai is a good whodunnit that gives us a satisfying ending, while also being a love story. I enjoyed Jatil and Radha’s interactions, but I loved the performances of Shivani Raghuvanshi and Padmavati Rao as the combative Vasudha (Raghubeer’s niece) and the reprehensible Pramila Singh (Raghubeer’s sister-in-law) respectively. Ila Arun was also good as Jatil’s mother who wants him to get married. Favorite song is Ghoom Charkhya (no subtitles).
Tumblr media
Kaajal (Bhumi Pednekar) moves out from her cousin Dolly’s (Konkona Sen Sharma) place when Dolly’s husband Amit (Aamir Bashir) makes a move on her and leaves her hated factory job. To make ends meet, she starts working at an adult call center as Kitty and begins an affair with “Pradeep” (Vikrat Massey), one of her callers. Meanwhile, Dolly deals with trying to make ends meet for her and Amit’s new luxury apartment that under construction and with the backlash against her son Pappu (Kalp Shah) liking girly things.
CW: corporal punishment. Dolly Kitty aur woh Chamakte Sitare is a good film about two cousins and their lives. It does a good job talking about women experiencing sex and desire without punishing them for it. It also doesn’t shy away from showing the realities of the society they live in, but doesn’t make those realities disheartening. A great example of this is the call center and how all the women there support each other. Favorite songs are Neet Ve and Khwabida (audio only). Neither song has subtitles.
Tumblr media
Akash (Aditya Roy Kapur) goes to local crime lord Sattu Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi) to help take down a sex video made of him and his ex-girlfriend Shruti (Sanya Malhotra) without their knowledge. Meanwhile, Aalu (Rajkummar Rao) tries to help the woman he loves, Pinky (Fatima Sana Shaikh), when she comes to him to help get her husband out of jail for being prime suspect in a murder Sattu Bhaiya committed. After being released from prison, Bittu (Abhishek Bachchan), Sattu Bhaiya’s former second in command, meets Mini (Inayat Verma) who has run away from home and agrees with her plan to pretend to kidnap her to get her parents’ attention. Rahul (Rohit Saraf), after being taken by Sattu Bhaiya for being near the murder, manages to get Sattu Bhaiya’s money with the help of nurse Sheeja (Pearle Maaney), but Sattu Bhaiya sends his goons after them to get his money back.
Ludo is an entertaining dark comedy that is structurally based on the board game ludo (more recognizable to Americans as Parcheesi). It was quite entertaining and funny, while also being heartwarming. I loved Bittu and Mini’s story because of how cute it was, especially when Mini prompts Bittu on how to make ransom calls to her parents. Overall, a fun romp. Favorite songs are Qismat Ki Hawa Kabhi Naram (originally from Albela), Aarbaad Barbaad, and Meri Tum Ho. None of the songs have subtitles.

After poor IPL 2024 start, MI players reach for planned break in Jamnagar
After their poor start to the IPL 2024 campaign, MI have reached Jamnagar for a planned break ahead of their next fixture in the IPL 2024 season against DC. Having lost their first three matches of the campaign, the five-time IPL champions will be hoping to get their season back on track when DC arrive in Mumbai for the match on April 7 at the Wankhede stadium. This will be the second one in their 4-match home stretch, which will end on April 14 with a mega clash against CSK.
Tumblr media
The video shared by a fan on X showed Rohit Sharma and his family being pictured arriving at Jamnagar. It was shown in recent videos on MI's social media handles that they were set for a trip ahead of the match against DC. It was in one of these videos that Ishan Kishan was spotted in a superhero outfit as punishment for being late for a team meeting.
Jamnagar was the same city where the Ambanis hosted Anant Ambani's pre-wedding bash with a lot of cricketers being in attendance.
R Ashwin, on his YouTube channel, recently revealed that MI are on a break after their match against RR.
"Mumbai Indians have gone to Jamnagar, the place where the (Ambani) pre-wedding party happened. They are going to chill there," said Ashwin.
Ashwin said that they gave a similar break to Kieron Pollard in 2014 or 15, as he was going through a slump in form. MI made the all-rounder spend time in Goa and upon return, he struck form. This could be the exact mantra MI will be hoping to use to inspire their side to turn things around this season.

"A Lot Happened Between 500 And 501": Ravichandran Ashwin's Wife Pens Emotional Note
One of the finest spinners to play the game, Ravichandran Ashwin showed his true character as he returned to join the Indian team on Day 4 of the third Test against England, after taking a leave post conclusion of the second day due to a family emergency. Ashwin reached the 500 Test wickets milestone on Day 2 of the Rajkot Test and even attended the press conference after the end of the day's play but had to fly back home because of an emergency. Ashwin returned from home on Sunday and bagged his 501st Test wicket, prompting an emotional note from his wife Prithi.
Tumblr media
It isn't yet fully known what the emergency was for Ashwin and his family but his wife Prithi summed up the nature of the situation, saying those were the longest 48 hours for the family.
"We chased the 500 to Hyderabad, it didn't happen. To Vizag, it didn't happen. So I just bought a ton of sweets and gave it to everyone at home at 499. 500 came and went quietly. Till it didn't. A lot happened between 500 and 501. Longest 48 hours of our lives," Ashwin's wife Prithi wrote in a post on Instagram.
"But this is about the 500. And the 499 before that. What a phenomenal achievement. What a phenomenal guy. I am insanely proud of you Ravi Ashwin. We love you!" she added.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had confirmed in a press release on Sunday that Ashwin will be available to rejoin his teammates in Rajkot on Sunday.
"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is pleased to announce the return of Ravichandran Ashwin to the squad after a brief absence due to a family emergency. Ashwin had to temporarily withdraw from the squad after Day 2 of the 3rd Test in Rajkot to attend to a family emergency," BCCI said in a statement.
"Both R Ashwin and the team management are pleased to confirm that he will be back in action on Day 4 and will continue to contribute towards the team's cause in the ongoing Test match," the statement further read.
The BCCI arranged a chartered plane for Ashwin to help him reach Rajkot in time for India's bowling in the second innings. Despite the tricky situation, causing mental trauma and fatigue due to constant travel, Ashwin looked on-song when he was handed the ball on Day 4 by skipper Rohit Sharma.

R Ashwin's Emotional Rollercoaster: From 500 to 501 Wickets
Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin’s recent Test match in Rajkot against England was marked by a whirlwind of emotions, from celebrating his 500th wicket to facing a family emergency that forced him to temporarily leave the match. Amidst the highs and lows, his wife, Prithi Narayan Ashwin, took to Instagram to share their rollercoaster experience.
Tumblr media
Ashwin, one of India’s senior spinners, achieved a significant milestone by claiming his 500th Test wicket during the match. However, the joyous occasion was overshadowed by a family medical emergency, compelling Ashwin to leave the game abruptly.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) swiftly released a statement, expressing support for Ashwin’s decision to prioritize his family’s needs. Despite the unexpected departure, Ashwin later rejoined the team on Day 4 of the match, displaying resilience both on and off the field.
Prithi Narayan Ashwin’s heartfelt Instagram post shed light on the emotional turmoil they experienced during those critical 48 hours. From eagerly anticipating the 500th wicket to grappling with unforeseen challenges, the journey was a testament to their strength and resilience as a family.
In her poignant message, Prithi reflected on the moments leading up to Ashwin’s milestone, highlighting the bittersweet contrast between celebrating his achievements and navigating personal crises. She expressed immense pride in her husband’s accomplishments and unwavering support for him through every triumph and tribulation.
India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, echoed Prithi’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing family above all else. He commended Ashwin’s decision to attend to his family during a critical juncture, acknowledging the character and integrity that define him both as a cricketer and as a person.
In the world of professional sports, where accolades and victories often take center stage, Ashwin’s journey serves as a poignant reminder of the human elements that underpin every triumph and setback. His unwavering commitment to both his craft and his family exemplifies the values that transcend the boundaries of the cricket pitch.
As Ashwin continues to leave an indelible mark on the cricketing world, his recent experience stands as a testament to the enduring power of resilience, love, and the unwavering support of family amidst life’s unpredictable twists and turns.

[ad_1] The spotlight will be only on the returning Rohit Sharma as his long-time colleague Virat Kohli pulled out of the opening T20I against Afghanistan due to "personal reasons" ahead of the first ever white-ball series between the two teams, beginning in Mohali on Thursday. Kohli, though, will be available for the second and third T20 International. India head coach Rahul Dravid attributed Kohli's pull-out to "family reasons" before he addressed media. Both the stalwarts are returning to the shortest format after 14 months and will be keenly observed in the three-match rubber, which will be India's last before the T20 World Cup in June, giving the team more clarity on where it stands ahead of the ICC event in Americas. However, the final 15 will be picked on the basis of core group's performance in the IPL, which precedes the World Cup.Dravid said Rohit will open the batting with young Yashasvi Jaiswal against Afghanistan.Rohit and Kohli, after he returns, are a certainty in this squad but the accomplished duo would first like to get the most out of the games against Afghanistan, who would be without their star spinner Rashid Khan.Khan underwent a back surgery in November last year and is still recuperating."He is not totally fit. We will miss him in the series. We will struggle without Rashid but one should be ready for any kind of situation," Afghanistan captain Ibrahim Zadran said on the eve of the series-opener, hoping that others in the side would step up.The focus, however, will firmly be on Rohit, easily among the biggest crowd-puller. His presence on the field would be a big reason for the Mohali crowd to brave the prevailing cold wave.Rohit, who will also captain the side, will be expected to carry on with his ultra aggressive approach in the powerplay like he showed in the ODI World Cup.The team, having returned from South Africa last week, only assembled on Wednesday evening for the series. The likes of Jaiswal and Tilak Varma remain in the squad after performing top-order duties in the drawn series against South Africa, and so is Shubman Gill.Across formats, Gill did not have the easiest of times in the Rainbow nation and will be looking to pile on the runs against Afghanistan with the others breathing down his neck.In his toughest test yet in a blossoming T20 career, Rinku Singh proved his worth in the South African conditions and will be a key player for India in the middle-order, especially in the absence of the injured duo of Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya. With Ishan Kishan interestingly left out, Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson are the two wicket-keeping options for the squad.Having donned the gloves in the previous two series, Jitesh is expected to start ahead of Samson, who finds himself back in the fold after the short series in Ireland last August.Shivam Dube too is back and can feature in the eleven as a pace bowling all-rounder while three specialist pace options are Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar.Kuldeep Yadav will lead the spin attack and other options to choose from are Ravi Bishnoi, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar.PredictionIndia would be expected to win comfortably in their own conditions but Afghanistan will give them a run for their money.Having recently exceeded all expectations in their giant-killing run during the ODI World Cup in India, Afghanistan will be high on confidence in a format that suits them the most.Barring Rashid's injury-forced absence, the team is at full strength after the likes Mujeeb Zadran, Naveen-Ul Haq and Fazalhaq Farooqi sorted their contractual issues with the country's cricket board.Squads:India: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar.Aghanistan: Ibrahim Zadran (captain), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (WK), Ikram Alikhil (WK), Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmat Shah, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Karim Janat, Azmatullah Omarzai, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Fareed Ahmad, Naveen Ul Haq, Noor Ahmad, Mohammad Saleem, Qais Ahmad, Gulbadin Naib and Rashid Khan.Match starts at 7pm (local time).(Except for the headline, this story has not been edited by NDTV staff and is published from a syndicated feed.)Topics mentioned in this article [ad_2] Source link

For Skipper Rohit Sharma, South Africa Tests Perfect Opportunity To Heal World Cup Pain
The captain of team India, Rohit Sharma, has not played for India since losing the ODI World Cup final against Australia.
As the echoes of India’s heart-wrenching defeat in the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia continue to resonate, Rohit Sharma and the Indian cricket team find themselves at a pivotal juncture with a chance to etch their names in history with the maiden Test series win in South Africa.
Tumblr media
The devastation of the World Cup final loss lingers, especially for Rohit Sharma, the captain, who led the team admirably throughout the tournament. But, with steely determination, Sharma can set his sights on a slice of history as India confronts the South African challenge anew.
The tours to South Africa for the Indian Test teams have been fraught with challenges. The teams of the previous eras have particularly struggled to acclimate to the pace-friendly pitches and conditions. Not only the Test series but even Test match wins have been hard to come by, with India managing just four victories in the rainbow nation from the previous eight tours over three decades. However, Rohit Sharma’s resolve to rewrite history appears unshaken, especially after spending some time away from cricket following the loss in the World Cup final.
The Indian captain remarked on social media following the heartbreak of the World Cup 2023 final loss. “I had no idea how to come back from this (loss in the World Cup final) the first few days. My family and friends kept me going and kept things pretty light around me, which was quite helpful. It wasn’t easy to digest, but yeah, life moves on. You have to move on in life.”

Wtf!
i just felt that he read my notes. But i was sure that now he doesn’t even touch my phone so i didn’t lock my notes. He just told me that u want divorce, u’re free from my side, u can leave. i felt he read my diary. And in that i wrote so so so bad about his parents and the family. i feel like i am the worst wife, infact the worst person alive in this whole world. i know he told me everything about his family before we got married but i was so blindly in love with him that i just said ya okay i’ll adjust. But when reality hit, it hit me hard on my face! His family, their way of living, they eat expired food, they never declutter, infact keep everything like harpic bottles and use them, they never let me use the dinner set which my parents gave, they keep even potatoes and every single thing in the fridge, eat everything microwaved etc etc. i have to hide and bring new clothes if i buy, can’t buy anything i want, there’s no space to keep anything as they keep their kachra everywhere. Because of them i started becoming more negative, before marriage i never prayed for anyone’s death, i never gave baddua to anyone, i wanted to live only with Hemant and Nivaan so that i can use better utensils to cook, eat healthy, keep the house hygienic and most importantly live happily which is impossible. This is the time when Hemant needs a support because he’s going through a very rough patch. He everyday tells me that right now in this tough situation all i need is ur support Guddu, and look at me, all i want is the worst for his family. There are reasons why i became like this. 1. Hemant broke my heart, 2. The way they shouted at me during my pregnancy when i wanted to go to the college, 3. They stole/lost all my jewellery in my absence, 4. They just want me to giving birth to children but they never help in anything.
i have lost all my happiness, hopes and what not. Whole time in-laws and daughters are on the phone doing panchyti about every person who wore what, who ate what, infact they even commented on how Rohit Sharma’s wife wore mini skirt and came to see the match!! i am fucked up, i am just living for my son there’s no other reason. My parents my family my friends were right not to marry here, i fought with my parents, made them cry. Making ur parents cry is the worst crime i believe and god is giving me punishment for that!

Rohit Sharma's Move Against England In Rajkot Test Is A Massive First In 'Bazball Era'
Yashasvi Jaiswal hit an unbeaten double century to help India to its biggest-ever win on Sunday, crushing England by 434 runs in the third Test to take a 2-1 lead in the series. The match in Rajkot also saw India becoming the first-ever team in the 'Bazball era' to declare their innings against England. The Bazball era is referred to as the time that started after Brendon McCullum took over as England's Test team coach in May 2022. Talking about the game, India were solid at the score of 430 for 4 with a lead of 556 runs when captain Rohit Sharma decided to declare the innings and ask England to bat.
Tumblr media
Chasing 557 for victory, England's batting fell like a pack of cards with the loss of eight wickets in the final session to be dismissed for 122 on day four in Rajkot.
Ravindra Jadeja got Mark Wood out for 33 as the final wicket -- and his fifth -- and he kissed the pitch as India registered their greatest win in terms of runs.
It was England's second-biggest Test loss since their 562-run defeat to Australia in 1934.
England lost their openers, including first-innings centurion Ben Duckett run out on four, before Tea and Jadeja then rattled the middle-order with his left-arm spin.
Jadeja was named player of the match for his seven wickets in the Test and 112 with the bat in the first innings.
The 22-year-old Jaiswal, who hit a match-winning 209 in the second Test, remains the leading batsman in the series with 545 runs.
Indian bowlers set up victory after they bowled England out for 319 in the first innings, after the tourists' batting collapsed from 299 for 5 despite the absence of star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Saturday.
Ashwin, who left the Test midway on day two due to a family emergency hours after taking his 500th Test wicket, returned to the field and got his 501st wicket on the fourth day.
Off-spinner Ashwin, 37, became only the ninth bowler in Test history and the second Indian after fellow spinner Anil Kumble (619) to reach 500 wickets.
Skipper Rohit Sharma's 131 and his 204-run stand with the left-handed Jadeja steered India to 445 in the first innings after they elected to bat.
