Aaravos bit back a sassy retort about the genie not making much effort. But whatever...this may benefit the elf in the long run. He kicked off his boots, then dove in. It made a splash, but unfortunately the genie was probably too far away to get hit.

The Startouch then used his stars on his skin and night vision to see better to find the target.

What is the meaning behind their name? Do they have any nicknames? -For any muse you want

OHOHOHO YESS!!! I SPENT /FOREVER/ PICKING THEIR NAMES

(However, I am dumb and lost the exact reasons i picked their names so I am going to go off what I remember with their names.)

Lyra Reha: Her first name is based on a constelation because she is a startouch elf and Ishaan actually helped me come up with her middle name which translates to destroyer of enemies and star in Assamese.

Iclyn: Relating to Ice, I was looking for a name relating to ice or winter or snow and this name jumped out of me.

Adrian: His name I think I was in the middle of a rp and just made up for Lyras boyfriend and then Whoops i got a whole new character.

Helios: His powers revolve around the sun, so his name is based on the Greek word for the sun.

Nerida: Her name revolves around Oceans and Seas and I thought her name was beautiful

Celiban: Relating to the moon and celistial objects.

Castor: Also named after a star, because his luck magic is connected to the sky arcanum.

Florus: Relating for the latin word for flower.

Aella: Her name relates to wind and breeze.

Name: Peccantum Nickname(s): Star Crazy, The Broken Star. Age: 20 ish Race: Startouched Elf Gender: Male 

General info: Peccantum is known for his ‘sin’ against his nature by breaking his magic. Peccantum is desperate to find a way to fix his magic, and that weakness can be preyed upon. He’s smart and studious, but generally very cold to most and can be standoffish. Curiosity is his calling and often gets him in hot water. 

Temperament: Cold and standoffish if he feels he has been wronged, but isn’t rude to those who show kindness to him. He’s mostly all bark and no bite, and will run from an interaction where he will lose. Not a coward, but smart.

Rumors: To most who hear the rumors, he’s known as the Broken Star, or Star Crazy. There are whispers that he was cursed, or committed some sort of great sin to have his magic taken away. He’s a bad omen if you see him, and talking to him will give you bad luck for weeks.

Why I made him: If Callum can connect with a primal source, why couldn’t the opposite happen to an elf? Plus, having it be a startouched elf is extra ironic... if a bit sad

Backstory: Peccantum used to be a student of a prestigious magic school, before pushed to his limit and waking up to find his magic broken. He was expelled and the headmaster spread ‘information’ about the Broken Star, hiding his accomplishments from before. Because of these rumors, most people dislike him and he generally tries to stay away from large crowds of people. He’s desperately looking for a way to restore his magic and will do anything to get what he needs.

Weaknesses: -Peccantum has no magic, and he’s not very physically adept either. His only exercise comes from walking and he doesn’t know how to use a weapon well. -His desperation makes him easy to manipulate, if you can prove to him you can help him, he will follow you like a starved puppy. -Peccantum has many rumors that follow him around, and does not have any support structure or home. - His curiosity and passion of learning can be strong enough that he forgets to be rational.

Strengths: - Peccantum has learned not to trust easily, he’s wary of others and tends to avoid those he’s certain would hurt him. - He is smart. He’s spent his whole life studying magic, he understands how it works and can teach others. - Peccantum has been on and off the road for three years, he’s gathered some books and information on things he shouldn’t know about, and can usually put together long dead mysteries. - He’s self sufficient and can survive in the wilderness without needing much in the way of supplies. -Very good at running and dodging when he needs to.

Why did his magic break?

That’s not an easy question to answer, and it’s something even he doesn’t know. Long story short, he was pushed by one of his teachers to a point of misery great enough that he was no longer himself. Peccantum believes, however, that it is his own fault his magic has been broken, after all it is his magic. There’s more to it than this... but I’ve spoiled enough for today.
