It's so uneventful these days except I almost damaged my right eye. I can't open it properly now.
There's nothing going on with my crush/muse. I could barely squeeze out any inspiration and will to write and there's just two days remaining of my freedom.
All I'm saying is that I want to say sorry in advance.

Sleepless Nights
I prefer those sleepless nights when I just bawl my eyes until I get tired
I prefer those sleepless nights when I worry about everything
I prefer those sleepless nights when I overthink about anything my mind wanted to
I prefer those sleepless nights when my heart won't stop pounding against my chest
I prefer those sleepless nights when I procrastinate over some things due the next day
I prefer those sleepless nights having debates with my teammates about our project/thesis/report
I prefer those sleepless nights when I just wanted to die because I feel like I'm not doing anything right
I prefer those sleepless nights thinking over my day and how I just always accept all the blame without anyone to talk to
I prefer those sleepless nights when I feel everything all at once colliding with my raging thoughts
I prefer those sleepless nights when I still feel something
I prefer those sleepless nights when it just proved that I'm human too
I prefer those sleepless nights than these sleepless nights I get nowadays
I hate these sleepless nights where all I want was to be able to sleep but can't
I hate these sleepless nights where all I see is darkness but not wanting to see any light either
I hate these sleepless nights where all I hear is my fan's rotation and nothing else that I can almost hear my own breathing
I hate these sleepless nights where I just stare into nothing, thinking nothing, feeling nothing
I hate these sleepless nights

24 Hours; 1, 2…My Wish
(이십사 시간; 하나, 둘…내 소원)
“Chungha unnie!” Sejeong ran down the flight of stairs towards the first floor of their dorm room. She ran with all her might as if her life depended on it.
“Chungha unnie! Yah! Chungha unnie!!!” She is now running towards the entrance screaming for her best friend’s name like a lunatic.
“Chungha unnie! Yah!” Sejeong reached her best friend just on time.
Sejeong bent down to catch her breath because Kim Sejeong, being the one with the most busy schedule among all her friends, cannot just use her remaining energy into something so extreme and out of routine. But you can say that when it comes to her best friend and favorite unnie, Kim Chungha, she’ll be willing to spend her remaining energy or even use her tomorrow’s energy just for the sake of one mighty Kim Chungha.
“Hey, Sejeongie. Are you okay? Why were you even running and screaming my name?” Chungha asked Sejeong with a soothing rub on her back to help her regain her breathing with a little chuckle as the girl knows how her best friend is always tired when it’s already night time, given her overloaded extracurricular activities during the day. But that didn’t help Sejeong at all for every time they have any sort of skinship, she forgets how to breathe. So Sejeong stood straight still panting but with a slight smile and an additional light tint of pink on her already flushed face.
“I told you not to forget to bring your coat. It’s gonna be cold tonight, unnie.” Sejeong said with a pout as she hands over the coat to Chungha who’s gratefully smiling at her friend for being so attentive and caring to her.
She can’t be more grateful to whoever is up there for giving her a best friend like Kim Sejeong.
“Thank you, Sejeongie. Sorry for making you waste your energy, my baby.” Chungha said to Sejeong with a hug and a kiss on her forehead.
“You really are the greatest bestest best friend in the world!” Chungha exclaimed like an old lady with her hands in the air. Sejeong giggled at the cute sight while bowing her head. One is because Chungha just kissed her and she wants to hide her red as a tomato face, and two, because of the endearment Chungha just used to call her.
“You better go now, unnie. Better not to make your prince charming wait.” Sejeong said to Chungha with a slight push towards her car, teasingly.
Before Chungha hopped on the car, she kissed Sejeong’s cheek. “Bye, Sejeongie. Don’t forget to eat your dinner. And do your assignments, you lazy head. Bye!” And then, Chungha drove away after waving bye to Sejeong one last time.
It’s not on Chungha’s knowledge that the moment she kissed Sejeong on her cheek, Sejeong has been floating on air and that she’s not with her anymore. That Sejeong didn’t hear nor understand a thing Chungha was saying. If Chungha kissing her forehead makes her face go red, what more if she kissed her cheek?
Because it's not just the rule of resting after school Sejeong has defied, even the rule of ‘not falling in love with your best friend’ Sejeong has already disregarded. But what can she do? If the great Kim Chungha has presented herself openly with her highs and lows, flaws that are not even flaws to her, first love, new loves, heartbreaks, failures, accomplishments, tears, smiles, laughters, and everything, being naked with her emotions and whole being, but still managed to be beautifully...just beautifully...beautifully...beautifully perfect, or is it perfectly...perfectly...perfectly beautiful? Who cares really. For her, beautiful and perfect are the two best words to describe Chungha and there’s nothing more for just a mere Kim Sejeong to do than to fall deeply in love to a mighty highly Kim Chungha.
Let’s clear it, it was not even falling that had happened to Sejeong. It was crashing. Crashing deeply into the darkest pit of love. Because first of all, Kim Chungha is straight as a pole and second, Kim Sejeong is just the best friend of the epitome of living perfection that is Kim Chungha.
Sejeong didn’t know when or how she fell in love with her best friend. Okay. That’s a slight lie. It was all still clear in her head when she suddenly felt weird towards her best friend. Or you can say that her heart acknowledged the feeling. It was one morning when Chungha woke her up and cuddled with her when she was finally awake like they usually did ever since they were kids, Sejeong’s face became red and her heart thumped loudly in her chest that she didn’t have any choice but to run fast towards the bathroom to hide her face and to calm her fast beating heart. But she’s not sure if that really was the first time she felt that way towards her sexy but still manages to be cute best friend. Because even before that, she has been looking at Chungha differently.
Truth be told, Chungha has an exceptional charms. And a beauty that you’ll never get tired of admiring. A beauty that is indeed long lasting. A height that’s perfect for Sejeong. And her body that's hot as fuck. And God. Her dancing skills. Her killer moves really kills. And you’ll be surely dead the moment Chungha winks while doing body rolls. Or when she smiled at you sincerely that her dimple shows with her eyes disappearing.
With all those descriptions, Sejeong can’t help but to admire and stare more than she intended to at Chungha whenever they eat, about to sleep, at classes, doing homeworks, watching movies, cleaning their dorm room, washing dishes, cooking food or anything that will make Sejeong look at Chungha more than she’s supposed to. But much more when she’s not doing anything because when it comes to Chungha, the bundle of energy melts away. And even before that morning happened, Sejeong has been feeling something weird whenever Chungha holds her hand or touches her face or hugs her or even just smiles at her. She even finds herself blushing when Chungha compliments her or anything that Chungha does towards her that it came to a point that she had to make up an excuse about them being old enough and it will be inappropriate even if they’re both girls to take a bath together.
The when did Sejeong fell or crashed was not really on point. Maybe because it also happened when Chungha sang to her to sleep whenever Sejeong had a hard time sleeping while Chungha’s caressing her hair. Or when Chungha stood up to her when the bullies teased her for not having her father by her side. Or when Chungha first kissed her forehead when she cried because she lost her only doll that was given to her by her mother on her seventh birthday.
But she knows when she had her first real heartbreak. It is not when Chungha introduced her to her first boyfriend. Neither when Chungha admitted to her that she already lost her first kiss to her said boyfriend. Nor when Chungha cried the day after because her boyfriend broke up with her after saying that she was just a pastime and that the guy has been cheating on her since day one. Neither it’s when Chungha accidentally lost her virginity to some senior in their highschool days over a drunken night. It is when she saw the well-reserved and calm Chungha lost herself the day her both parents passed away after involving in a mass car accident. It hurts her to no end seeing Chungha so lost and out of it for a month. It didn’t help either that after Chungha got over it the next month, it was her birthday. Though still having her older sister and younger brother, it won’t ever feel the same way again. And them being far away with each other didn’t do any good either for her siblings lives on their own while Chungha’s living in the dorm because of university. Chungha just has Sejeong and so is Sejeong for her mother and brother is living in Anyang. They only have each other. That’s why it breaks Sejeong’s heart over and over again every time she had to go visit her own family and Chungha has to fly to America alone.
As much as she wants Chungha to go with her, she can’t be selfish for Chungha has responsibilities and obligations towards her family as the company that was left behind by her parents was passed to her and her older sister to take care of in the states. Besides, she still has to look out for her younger brother even though her brother’s living on his own as he’s been training to be an idol and is currently living in the dorms with his future members.
“Yah! Kim Sejeong!” Someone snapped Sejeong out of her own world. Like literally snapped for that person just slapped her head to get her attention aside from just screaming her name.
“What the hell, joker?!” Sejeong exclaimed while holding her chest where her heart is.
"Unnie, between us two, you know you're the joker."
"Well, your big mouth says otherwise." and with that said, Sejeong ran like her life depended on it.
"Yah! Kim Sejeong! I'll tell Chungha unnie that you love her!" the one chasing Sejeong shouted.
"Then I'll tell Yoojung that you keep on chasing away the guys who want to court her because you like her!"
And the two hopelessly in love girls kept on running while shouting each others' secrets. Little did they know, someone, more like more than one heard all of it.

Let’s Play A Game Called Love
II
Jessica
“Okay. Pair up now and do stretching! Hurry!” Our Physical Education teacher, Mr. Park, yelled at the front.
Of course, my partner would be my best friend, Tiffany. It’s obvious, I mean, who would want to partner up with a nobody like me aside from my best friend, right?
I laughed as I saw Tiffany excitedly made her way to me only to trip on her own feet. And who would partner up with my clumsy best friend aside from her best friend, right? I laughed again as she glared at me before continuing her walk—calmly this time—towards me.
“5 minutes!” Our teacher yelled again.
Does he really want to mess up his vocal chords or he actually thought that the class would be scared of him if he kept on shouting? I mean, there’s a megaphone for P.E class teachers to use for asdfgh!@#$%’s sake!
Tiffany and I started our warm-up before our teacher yelled again. “Gosh! It’s hot! Tell me why did I take track and field as my p.e again when I can just take golf or bowling or swimming instead?” Tiffany whined just a minute since we started our warm-up. The girl’s really not into outside sports and swimming. Wait. Swimming? Did I hear her say swimming or did I heard her wrong? No, I heard her clearly. She definitely said swimming.
“Did you just say swimming? Really?” I asked her half amused, half teasing as I stopped doing my stretching. I looked at her with my left eyebrow raised. If she hates this sport that we’re about to do which requires running, or anything that has to do with sports, she hates swimming the most. Why? She’ll explain it herself in 3...2...1
“WHAT?! SWIMMING?! NO WAY IN HELL, JESSI! YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I HATE THAT SPORT. OR WORD. OR ANYTHING RELATED TO THAT. OR THAT--THAT MANWHORE! LIAR! CHEATER! UGH!” Tiffany lashed out on me before walking away from me towards the dressing room.
I was left dumbfounded. I mean, she’s the one who mentioned that thing first—I just confirmed it—or him. I didn’t even mention anything about him. It’s really just like her to point out every single thing as related to him. As much as she hates that guy who broke her heart, I hate him too. Not just because he broke my best friend’s heart, it’s because I hate players like him in general—not that I was in a relationship before, I just hate the thought of playing with girls’ hearts. And the fact that I’m the one who saw him cheating on Tiffany on the day of their supposed-to-be anniversary. And the guy’s been cheating on her since day 1. I know we were still kids then. 14 is really not an age to date nor fall in love or whatsoever—for me at least, but the guy’s oh-so-charming that Tiffany fell head over heels in love with him.
“Hey, rat. What’s with your friend? Got fed up of your blabbermouth?” And speaking of the devil, Yuri whispered to me as he passed me by.
I was glaring at his back, hoping that my eyes could throw daggers at him when Hara, my other best friend approached me.
“Woah. For an ice princess—and if you do really have powers—instead of melting in this hot day, you are almost setting this field into an ice rink. What’s with the mood? You’re throwing icicles everywhere.” She teased as she placed her elbow on my shoulder and looked at the direction I was looking at. “Oh. Mr. President got in your nerves again.”
“Ms. Jung and Ms. Goo. Why are you two not in position to do sit ups?! Move! Now!”
“Ugh! What’s with--” I was about to say something when Hara just pushed me at the top of my head to sit.
“NOW!” Mr. Park yelled at us as I glared to Hara.
Hara just laughed at me. My friends were already used to my glares, and me—being an ice princess. “Just do the sit ups, Sica. We both don’t want to circle this whole field 5 times. Do we?”
I started doing the sit ups with Hara to support my feet and legs. “Why I am the one doing it and not you?” I asked her not even minding to count my sit ups. She just smiled at me.
Okay I know that smile. Just great. I’ll also be the one to do her set. Ugh. And here I am thinking that I’ll be saved today. I just sighed still doing the sit ups.
Author
Jessica already forgotten her encounter with Yuri. As much as she wanted to throw a comeback to Yuri at that time, she won’t risk her best friend’s secret to be out in this wild called school. If the students were to know that ms. out-of-this-world-but-rich-that-is-why-she-is-also-popular girl and mr. president-who-is-just-as-rich-as-miss-popular-but-is-so-arrogant-and-such-a-player guy, used to date, it will cause a commotion in our school. And maybe, the so-called fangirls of mr. president will finally have the reason to bully Jessica’s best friend. And if it comes to worst, she will get the bullying too if that guy turned the story upside down.
Jung Sooyeon or much known as Jessica Jung, but not really known for she is actually a nobody in their school. It’s her own doing. She kept herself low profile even though two of her best friends are quite popular. Or maybe, the reason why the two didn’t make it to the next level of being popular was because their clique composed of nobodies or came from low statuses that didn’t deserve much attention or didn’t really deserve any attention at all. Despite being a low profile and a nobody, she’s actually the president of their school’s music club. But still, no one pays attention to her, for the girl doesn’t sing in front of the audience. The officers of the clubs were chosen based on skills and talents, not popularity. And the audition was done privately with just the panel and the one who is auditioning. Which was in her favor for she’s quite an introverted person. As for her situation, nobody knows about her background except her friends and maybe Yuri—if he’s quick to pick things up and putting puzzle pieces together—for they met in America when she and Tiffany were there for 1 and a half year to study about handling their companies’ human resources. Jessica is actually the richest girl in their school, not Tiffany. But that fact was kept ever since she was a child. Only her friends know that she’s actually rich. And only her best friends know that she’s actually beyond rich. Her family’s living in America with bunch of different businesses around the world, while she was thrown back and forth from America to Korea or other places in the world. In her credentials, the names that were used for her parents were actually the names of her butler and personal maid. What everyone knows is that the Jung Group of Companies has only one daughter and that is Jessica’s younger sister, Krsytal. Her identity was kept to the world for her safety and for her to just be in track without having to worry about the media. If you think that it would actually do good for her, it’s not. Krystal is always the favorite and the one who’s always favored, the one who can do anything she wants and be who she wants to be. Jessica on the other hand, had to always keep her grades good, not get into trouble, and she carries the burden of being the heiress of a humongous company since child. As soon as she learned to read, write and count, her father started to bring her to the company for her to learn immediately about every nook and cranny of the world of business. Kids should be playing, not balancing debits and credits nor organizing data sheets. Don’t get her wrong, she loves her family especially her sister. It’s just that she wants to live her life the way she wants sometimes. And she just wants to feel the love and care of her parents every once in awhile.
Stephanie Young Hwang or Hwang Miyoung or simply just Tiffany Hwang. She is the the heiress of Hwang Corporation for she is now the only child in the Hwang’s family registry after her parents disowned her older brother Leo. She is the princess and pride of their family. The issue about her older brother was long forgotten. As much as she wants to contact her brother, she can’t for she doesn’t know where her brother is. She is known to be one of the richest in their school that’s why almost everyone, except the ones who are as just rich, are afraid to make a mistake towards her. No one wants to feel the wrath of wealthy people. Her first love and first boyfriend is Yuri. They met in one of the Jung’s party in America when Jessica and her were studying there. Tiffany thought that they’re gonna last long but sadly, nothing lasts forever. She broke up with him after Jessica saw him kissing another girl in a restaurant. After that incident, Jessica and her moved back to Korea thinking that they won’t cross paths ever again. Much to her dismay and broken heart, Yuri’s attending the same school as her, and if it’s not enough for her heart to break, she just had to witness how playboy Yuri really is on the very first day of classes. She came crying to Jessica after classes and told her what she saw. Jessica and her were best friends since forever, that’s why they told each other everything. But what she doesn’t know is that her ex-boyfriend was actually bullying her best friend ever since they stepped foot on the school. Tiffany is the president of the English Club. English club may sound and look like it is not much, but it really plays a big part in their school for it has three units under it namely: Broadcasting, Journalism, and Tutoring. As much as she wanted to avoid her ex-boyfriend, she can’t because of her position in the English club and him being the student council president. If only she didn’t have a soft spot for Journalism, and being a president will actually look good for her curriculum vitae—not that she will ever need one, she won’t accept the position.
Goo Hara. She’s Jessica’s other best friend. Not to Tiffany’s level of best friend but a best friend, nonetheless. Hara’s not as rich as Jessica and Tiffany. Her parents may not have their own company but they play a significant role in one’s own company. They have many shares in different corporation. And being a Goo, she, herself has her own shares already in some companies. They may not have their own company, but the Goo family is just rich as it is. In fact, her parents can actually build their own company, but they just don’t want to for their real occupations won’t allow them to either. Her father is a movie director and actor while her mother is an actress, and she is a model. So even if the companies that they entrusted their monies to, closes down, they won’t have to worry for just a single smile, they can earn money. Because of her being a model, she proposed to the school’s administration that their school should also have a Ramp Artists Club for model aspirants and potentials. Being the one who proposed it, once approved, she was directly assigned as the president of the said club. Thus, her popularity in school skyrocketed to the top, but much to her fans and the popular groups’ dismay, Hara doesn;t really care about popularity. She sticked to her clique that has nobodies and almost populars. But it doesn’t stop the guys to court her and girls to fangirl over her.
-Lunch Time-
“Hello, Juhyunnie, did you see Tiffany?” Jessica asked the girl arranging the piano sheets on the grand piano using it as a table once she and Hara entered the music room. They placed the lunchboxes that Jessica’s personal maid made and delivered to school at one of the tables that had no music sheets. Their clique prefers to eat at the peaceful music room than to surround themselves with hormonal teenagers who prefer to eat each other than to eat their food in the school’s cafeteria, or the drama filled school’s park.
“Hi, unnies. She’s there, inside the recording booth with Hyomin unnie.” Juhyun greeted them before answering Jessica’s question with a smile while pointing at the recording booth in the right side of the room.
“Where’s Nicole? I haven’t seen her since---” Hara asked Juhyun but got cut off when a panting guy burst in the room with the door slamming, making the other two in the recording booth to come out rushing.
“NOONA! They’re at it again! Gyuri’s group is picking on Nicole again!” The music club’s drummer boy, Minhyuk, told them in panic.
Everyone knows how bitchy and highly Gyuri’s group think of themselves are. They act as spoiled brats rich kids who don’t know anything than to pick on others who are lower than them.
“Hey Jessi, what’s going on here? What’s with the door slamming, Minhyuk?” Tiffany asked them as she and Hyomin made their way to the group. The issue in pe class was long forgotten for Tiffany’s just being her usual self, a drama queen.
“Ugh! Those girls again.” Jessica murmured to Tiffany, and Tiffany already got what Jessica’s referring to. In their clique, if it’s not Nicole who’s being bullied, it’s Jessica. Simply because of Nicole’s low status and Jessica’s unknown family background.
“Let’s go.” Jessica stated as she was already making her way to the door for she’s actually protective of the maknaes of their group, especially Nicole, and for she also knows how it feels to be the target of that group.
“No Jessi. Stay here. You’ll get yourself in trouble. Can’t have HellSica at this time. Besides, they won’t even listen to you. You’ll just get mocked. Just prepare our lunch. You too, Hara and Hyomin. Juhyun, come with me. We’ll drive that girl crazy.” Tiffany said as she dragged Juhyun with her out with Minhyuk beside them.
Tiffany, Juhyun, and Min hyuk reached the hallway to the cafeteria in no time. Tiffany already discussed to Juhyun what to do on their way there, and told Minhyuk to go to his group for she didn’t want him to receive the bullying later when the populars saw him hanging out with them.
Once the entered the cafeteria, they were welcomed with a sight that made their insides boil with anger. Tiffany almost forgot their plan as she already was walking near Gyuri to give her a piece of hell. Thanks to Juhyun’s composed self and fast reaction, she grabbed a hold of Tiffany’s sleeve as she whipped out her phone from her uniform’s jacket pocket and immediately called her dad, signalling Tiffany to go along with their plan.
“Appa.” Juhyun intentionally loudened her voice to announce her and Tiffany’s arrival. They got what they wanted for Gyuri’s group alongside Nicole and the bystanders to turn their heads to them. Juhyun smiled sweetly at Gyuri as she looked directly at her.
“Appa, I miss you. You’re didn’t even visit me on my birthday. You owe me, appa.” Juhyun whined to her father on the other line but maintaining her smile and stare at Gyuri.
“Anything, appa?” She now smirks evilly at Gyuri as Tiffany glared to Gyuri and her group. Gyuri slowly gets a hold of what’s about to happen. Her eyes widened in fear, she let go of Nicole’s uniform jacket as it fell to the ground.
“Appa. What if I tell you I want to start handling our business but I would like to start as a Marketing Department’s Executive Director in XYZ Enterprise?” Juhyun now glared at Gyuri as the latter was shaking her head as if to tell Juhyun not to do what she thinks Juhyun’s about to do.
“Ne, appa. Arasso, I’ll think about it, and you better visit me before this month ends or I won’t cook your favorite food ever again. Bye.” Juhyun and Tiffany’s glare now can dig a hole in Gyuri and her minions heads.
Juhyun walked towards Gyuri as she continued to glare at the girl and bent down to pick up Nicole’s jacket from the ground, still maintaining her eye contact with the scared girl, at the same time Tiffany made her way to Nicole and helped her up to her feet and clean her face and hair as much as she can with her pink handkerchief.
“Gyuri-ssi. If you ever do this again—not just to Nicole or Jessica unnie, but to anyone else—you better get ready to say to your father that he has no longer job and to your mother to say bye to her just starting business.” Juhyun warned Gyuri.
“You all know I’m not usually like this. But if you keep on picking on my friends, I have no other choice but to be like this.” Juhyun said as she hardened her look even more.
“Now that all of you know what Juhyun can do, you better not mess up with our group again. You still don’t know what I can do. I may be labeled as out-of-this-world girl here in our school, you just know how rich my family is, but you still don’t have any idea what I’m capable of doing. I can bear with all of you people calling us names, but I won’t tolerate bullying up to this extent. You better never forget my words.” Tiffany added as looked one by one at the minions before finally glaring at Gyuri. After their warnings, they made their way out of the cafeteria towards the music room.
---
Seo Ju Hyun or Juhyun. But she’s known as Seohyun as she’s proud carrying her family’s name. Sometimes, her friends and parents call her Seobaby for she’s the only child in the family, thus, making her the baby. She’s actually loved by everyone. She’s beautiful, intelligent, talented, kind, she stands up for her friends, and speaks her mind when needed to. Though her parents spoils her so much, she’s not a spoiled brat. As a matter of fact, she’s really independent. She earns her own money by teaching kids privately how to play piano, and she donates two-thirds of her earnings to charities. She is only girl who’s REALLY allowed on Taeyeon’s group. Taeyeon saved her from the bullies when they were in middle school and from then on, he treats her like a younger sister, only to know that they’re actually cousins when the Kim’s throws a party for their newly opened company. No one’s allowed to court Seohyun or if they are brave enough, they have to get through Taeyeon’s group first. As for her relationship with Jessica and other girls in their group, they share same interest towards music. The girls were already together for they were all there last year at the same summer camp that’s for musically inclined teens when they met Seohyun. No more words to describe, they all just clicked.
Park Sunyoung or simply known as Hyomin. Her family’s not that rich, but they’re not poor either. Her father’s a doctor while her mother’s a lawyer. Everyone have a great deal respect for her parents for they’re one of the best in their own fields, putting a lot of pressure on her. Her parents set a high expectation on her. They anticipate her to be either a doctor or a lawyer or somewhere between those fields or as level as those at least. She wants to be a surgeon, actually. But she wants to be recognized on her own without all the pressures, and also not because of her parents. But how can she if she’s being labeled everywhere she goes that she’s the great doctor and lawyer’s daughter? That she wasn’t recognized as Park Sunyoung but Dr. Park’s daughter? Many of the people who know her don’t even know her name. Even though it’s her own work that she’s the Vice President of the student council, it doesn’t stop the people to mock her that she only got that position because everyone knows her parents. Despite being disrespected, she still respects people even if they don’t really deserve it. For her, respect is a virtue.
Nicole Yungju Jung or Nicole Jung. Unlike Jessica who is actually a Jung either, but is being kept in the dark and really is rich and is the heiress of the family, Nicole Jung has literally nothing. No money, no cars, no personal maids or butlers, no assurance, neither any insurance, no designer clothes, no traveling history, no anything. But despite all that, totally unlike Jessica, Nicole has a happy and loving family. They may struggle everyday to gain money, but they always eat together, sharing everyday stories, laughters, happiness, even struggles and pains. Nicole has an older brother, Yonghwa, who attends the same school as her, but he’s off the hook of all the bullying simply because his band CNBLUE which is pretty popular, and he’s also the co-captain of the soccer team which he got a scholarship from and that made him the right hand man of Yoong and also made him an extension of Taeyeon’s group. Nobody dares to mess up with that group except Jaebum’s group and Leeteuk’s group who are as powerful and popular as Taeyeon’s group. Nicole and Yonghwa are close, but Nicole never told him about all the bullying that’s happening to her. She just doesn’t want to depend too much on her brother, neither she wants to be mocked as a crybaby, making Jessica to be protective of her. Jessica treats her as her younger sister for she misses her real sister dearly. But all the unfairness in her family created a gap in their relationship. Jessica found herself almost every week over at Nicole’s household. Nicole’s parents treat Jessica as their own daughter much to Jessica’s delight and her fragile heart. Without anyone knowing, she’s actually the one who pays for Nicole’s school fees through scholarship that she named after her future own fashion brand, Blanc. Nicole’s family knows she’s rich but they don’t know how rich.
Jessica
After cleaning up Nicole and interrogating her while eating our lunch, the bell rang—indicating the end of lunch and the start of next period which is also my free period. The girls and I took our separate ways. Tiffany and Hara to the science lab, Nicole to the computer lab, Seohyun to the economics class, Hyomin to the faculty lounge as the faculty and student council have a meeting, and me to the library to sleep. I actually chose after lunch period as my free period for it’s the best time to have a nap. I mean, who doesn’t want to rest after eating, right? After getting a random thick and tall book to hide my myself, I took a seat at the corner of the last row away from the librarian, and I immediately placed the open book at the top of the table, making sure that it won’t crush my head as I made it to stand. I placed my head on my arms at the table, the book is just above my head. Already feeling comfortable, I closed my eyes. But just 5 seconds in my relaxed state, someone had to disturb my most anticipated sleep as he or she dragged the chair beside me producing a squeaking sound, and the person sat in the chair, talking to me. Now, I know that the person is a he. I kept my eyes closed. Why is he even talking to me? I’m just a nobody. And nobody should disturb the sleep of nobody! Ugh!
“Hey, the librarian is making her way here. You better open your eyes now.”  He told me in a whispering manner. And that made me want to open my eyes. Who wouldn’t? I mean, he’s speaking really close to me. I can even feel his breath on my neck and I can smell it too. It smells like mint and it’s intoxicating. Okay. What am I thinking? As I opened my eyes, I see him. It’s him. H-I-M! The school’s biggest player! Why is he here? Why is he even talking to me? And why is his face so damn close to me? Why?!

Let’s Play A Game Called Love
I.
Taeyeon
“Ahhh. When will this end? I’m so hungry, I’m gonna die.” A voice on my left exclaimed.
“You’re always hungry, Sooyoung. Nothing’s new there.” Yuri’s voice came from my back.
“Well, I didn’t get to eat breakfast today. I overslept. Some horny virgin kept me awake last night.” Sooyoung stretched his arms and back, pissing off the midget sitting at the back.
“Stop stretching! I can’t see the board, you hungry giant.” Sunny said as he smacked Sooyoung at the back of his head with his notebook.
“YAH!” Sooyoung shouted. The whole class looked in our direction including our history teacher.
“Yes, Mr. Choi? You have something to share?” Ms. Min said from the front. Her eyes fixed on Sooyoung.
“Uh. No. Not. No--not---nothing, Ms. Min.” Sooyoung stumbled in her words and I can’t help myself from laughing because of how nervous my giant friend turned out to be.
“What’s funny, Mr. Kim?” Ms. Min now turned her scary gaze to me.
I turned my laugh to a fake cough as I faced the front. If it’s being a scary teacher, Ms. Min is the scariest of them all. She even surpassed our principal at being scary. As I was about to answer Ms. Min, Yuri who’s sitting after me, slapped my back continuously.
“No, ma’am. He’s not laughing because something’s funny. You see, when his throat is itchy, it tends to tickle him, making him release a sound like a laugh before truly coughing. So technically, he’s laughing but not because of something funny.” Yuri said to our teacher who’s also by the way has a favoritism towards my best friend. Not because he’s the school’s student council president but because of his body. Don’t get me wrong, us six have good well-built body. It’s just the sport Yuri does shows a lot of skin. He sent a smirk to me as I turned my head to face him, giving him a deathly glare. “I’ll get you later for that.” I mouthed at him.
“Oh. Is that so? Okay then. Very well.” As soon as Ms. Min turned her back to us and picked up the marker, the bell rang, signalling the start of lunch period.
“YES!” Sooyoung exclaimed and packed up his things to his bag. Sounds of zipper closing, pens clashing, papers crumpling, and excited stomps towards the exit, filled the room. I, on the other hand just stretched and yawned loudly. I don’t have to pack anything for there’s nothing on my desk. I don’t bother taking out my notebook or even a piece of paper in this class. Hyoyeon records this teacher’s lecture every time. He’s not been caught ever since the day he started doing so. Luckily for me for I don’t even have to listen to this teacher’s blabberings about World War II or something.
By the time we’re all ready to go out, Sooyoung’s already at the door shouting to the people in front of him to get out of his way. “I’ll kill you if you don’t move! MOVE!” Sooyoung shouted as he made his way out of the room and I already lost sight of his tall figure.
“Dude.” Yuri whispered to me while looking at our right. There’s a girl looking and walking towards my direction. She was my latest accomplished dare which was just last week. The dare was just to have sex with her after one date. For a nerd, the girl’s an assfuck horny. She can’t really keep her hands to herself. No doubt she’s not virgin anymore and already had sex with me on just our first date. “You’re on your own.” He patted my back and walked away. My so-called 3 buddies ran after the choding shouted, “Race to the cafeteria, last one’s gonna pay for our lunch.”
“Hey, Taeng.” She shyly approached me. She’s different in dates. Especially in bed, I see. She’s like a leech last week and now, she’s a totally different person.
Kim Yewon. That’s her name. Of course, I know her name. My friends and I may be players and heartbreakers, but it doesn’t mean we forget the names of the girls we fuck. We still respect girls in that matter. That’s the least we can do for them. Remembering them.
“Hey to you too, Yewon.” I smiled at her. My killer smile, they say. Girls always fall for my smile. I’m not bragging or anything. I mean, at some point, I actually hate my smile, it makes me look like a kid rather than a man. Or maybe that’s the reason why girls collapse at the sight of my smile.
Yewon blushed after I smiled at her. “I’m thinking if...if we could hang out later again after school?” She said with her hopeful eyes. And I can see a pinch of lust there. This girl’s totally thinking about sex. I should feel sorry about her. That smile of hers was about to vanish.
“I’m sorry, Yewon. I enjoyed last time, but it’s just a one time thing. So if you excuse me, I’m hungry. Bye.” I said to her still smiling. Then I patted her head before taking my leave to the cafeteria.

That’s what they do. Break girls’ hearts like they’re just a piece of paper that’s so easy to crumple. Taeyeon’s their group’s ‘leader’. He doesn’t actually know how they came up with that. People just pointed it out. And when it comes to making a decision, Taeyeon always has the last say. He thinks that Yuri will fit the title more.
Kim Taeyeon. His friends call him Taeng. He’s the captain of their school’s American Football team. He’s taller than Sunny. That’s a fact. He’s the worst player in their group. Like I told you, he breaks hearts like they’re just papers to crumple. And by worst, what I mean to say is that he has different girls in his arms almost each day. Or sometimes, even each period breaks. He’s known for his reputation for being not just a two-timer, but an ALL-timer. All because almost all of the girls in their school, already claimed him as their boyfriend. And being a player that he is, he just goes along with the flow. What can I say? He’s quite the charmer.
Next is Yul. Kwon Yuri. He’s Taeyeon’s bestfriend. They’ve been friends ever since birth. Yul is the most flexible of them all. I mean, he’s the heir of the Kwon’s. He’s not spoiled nor arrogant. You think his life and the way he lives is quite boring. He actually has a way of getting out of his boredom. He loves to pull pranks with the ten-year-old-kid and the youngest. If those three came up with a prank, it’ll be a talk of the year. Yuri’s the captain of their school’s swimming team. He’s also the student council president. But it doesn’t change the fact that he’s the second worst in being the player. Being a tall, dark, handsome, talented and smart, it’s not that hard for him to get girls. He’s almost just as bad as Taeyeon. It’s just that he doesn’t do virgins.
Soo or Choi Sooyoung. Yes, his name means swimming. But the guy can’t even swim to give justice to his name, even Yul teached him how, he still can’t. His reason for immediately giving up? He’s hungry. That guy’s always hungry. He can eat all the foods in a buffet, I’m telling you, and all of that were still not enough. That’s how hungry he is always. But to make up for his nonexistent skill in swimming, he’s a total monster in court. He’s the basketball team captain. His height is a great advantage but that just adds up to how good he actually is. He’s the third when it comes to playing with girls. He treats girls like food. Eat it especially when being offered, just accept and accept. Sooyoung’s the tallest among them. And he uses his height for his own advantage. He does modelling. The guy’s handsome even if he stuffs food in his mouth every minute. He doesn’t approach girls, they just throw themselves at him. He doesn’t have time to court or woo anyone, he’ll always choose food over girls. But if the girl offers food with her body, there’s no doubt he’ll bite both.
Hyo. The king of dancing, president of the dance club, and co-captain of the basketball team, Kim Hyoyeon. But also the childish ten-year-old-kid, Hyoyeon. Don’t let him fool you, he may act like a kid when he’s with his friends, but when it’s about breaking hearts, Hyo is the worst. He’s not as much a player like the first three who pick and change girls like they’re just changing their underwears, but he’s actually a real jerk. It’s not that the three, were clean when it comes to breaking ups, it’s just they break up/reject girls smoothly. Hyoyeon doesn’t. He doesn’t just break hearts, he destroys them. He’s not contented in simple breaking ups/rejections, he humiliates the girl, gives the girl high hopes only to crush it again and again. He breaks the girl in the most drastic ways that’ll actually leave the girl broken and maybe forever scarred. And mind you, there’s nothing to break in the first place for the guy doesn’t do relationships. That’s the thing that hurts the girls most, you break up with them when there is really no relationship at all. It makes them feel used in every inch of their body.
Lee Sunkyu or Sunny. Just like his name, he’s a happy-go-lucky guy. And despite him being the shortest of them, his body is no joke. Being in American Football team does that to your body. He’s Taeyeon’s co-captain. His light aura always tricks their opponents, they always takes him lightly, just to be disappointed in the end that he really is not to the one to take lightly. Sunny is not a heartbreaker, nor a player. He doesn’t do relationships like Hyoyeon, but he fucks every girl he sees, but with their consent, of course. He may be a pervert, but he’s not a rapist. He makes sure that it’s clear to the girl that their fucking is only a one time thing. Or if the girl fucks good, then maybe he can do the girl twice.
Yoong. Im Yoong. The youngest in the group. Yoong’s the soccer team captain. He’s quite the gentleman. It’s not that he’s better than the other. It’s just that, he takes girls on real dates and takes care of them. He doesn’t fuck and tell. He’s the friendly type. But he’s no better for he’s also a player like them. Why? He too doesn’t take relationships seriously. Actually, he never do relationship. Just dates and sex. For him, girls are just pastime and a way for him to waste his father’s money. So if you’re that desperate to date and fuck or just fuck a good looking guy and still be respected, Yoong is the best choice.
It’s not that being a player is an actual requirement to be a part of their group. No. It just happened that they’re a group of guys with raging hormones. In fact, their group has extensions. Not because they’re popular and players, don’t mean that they think of themselves as high and mighty. They’re not bullies. Their school have another popular group who are also a group of bullies. There are many popular groups in their school but they’re the most popular. Not meant to brag but their group and them as individuals have it all. They’re handsome, they’re top students, they’re rich, their families are well-known, they’re athletic, and they’re actually kind despite being players.
Their title of being players heightened after Hyoyeon made a game for them. Not an actual game, but a game nonetheless. It’s a game of dare. It is just for their own fun. When it is someone’s turn to be dared, it is actually more torture than fun for him. It is funny for those who is not being dared. The order on who’s first to be dared was actually based on their age. So the first one who was dared was actually their leader, Taeyeon, next was Sunny, and then Hyoyeon, next Yuri, Sooyoung, and then Yoong, and the cycle repeated. The first dares were childish, but the more they play the game, the more they want to get revenge. The cycle won’t move on to the next person if the dare wasn’t done. So if they dared the one to do it for one year, they have to do it for one year.
-At the cafeteria-
“So who’s turn is it now?” Yuri asked the gang while eating his salad. It’s already been awhile since the last dare. Besides, they were busy with their school’s intramurals, being the athletes that they are.
“I was the last one. So it’s Taeyeon’s turn now.” Yoong said before burying his face in his food.
“Ah. Yeah. I remember that.” Sooyoung said. Despite having his mouth full of food, his friends still understood what he was saying. They were used to it anyways.
“Of course you remember it. You’re the one who dared me to do it.” Yoong said to Sooyoung with a slap on his back that made Sooyoung to cough out all the food in his mouth.
“YAH! You’re disgusting!” Sunny laughed out loud at Sooyoung’s face.
“HAH! I know what to dare that midget! It’s my time for revenge!” Yuri shouted over the commotion.
“What is it? Be sure it’s worth it. I never got the chance to take my revenge for that midget.” said Hyoyeon.
“It is. Now hear me, you all.”
***
“Yah! What took you so long?!” Hyoyeon exclaimed to Taeyeon as he approached their table.
Taeyeon just shrugged and stole fries in Sooyoung’s tray of foods. Sooyoung glared at him while he moved away his tray far from Taeyeon. “Tss.”
“Oh. Hey, beautiful.” Taeyeon said to a girl that’s passing by their table as he made her sit on his lap. “Do you mind buying me lunch? I’m quite tired.” Taeyeon told to the girl while stroking the girl’s thigh and kissing the girl’s neck.
Yuri just smirked while eating his food. “Player Taeng is on the loose once again.” Sunny said while rolling his eyes and continue his conversation with Hyoyeon.
The girl moaned quietly as she gripped Taeyeon’s shoulders. “Uh. Sure, Tae. What do you want to eat?”
“As much as I want to devour you right now, I’m quite hungry for real food. So anything delicious, babe.” Taeyeon whispered to the girl before sending the girl a wink. The girl was blushing as she made her way to the food stall.
“You really are something, Taeyeon. You better share your food with me.” Sooyoung said while still drowning himself in food.
“So. Taeng. It’s your turn to be dared.” Yul said after Taeyeon received his food, kissing the girl and whispering not so quietly to the girl that they should have some fun later.
“Is it? Okay. Bring it on.” Taeyeon just said nonchalantly. Afterall, he’s the king of dares, he did all the dares easily. He always won them. And if it’s his time to make a dare, the one to be dared always faced hell.
Hyoyeon just snickered at Taeyeon. “I won’t be easy this time, Taeng. It’ll be our revenge.”
“Psh! It’s easy. Just make this girl fall in love with you, take her virginity then bam! Break her heart.” Yoong said to Taeyeon as they already discussed the dare before Taeyeon arrived.
Taeyeon looked at Yoong as it was the first time that Yoong said anything about their dares. And he felt that Yoong’s aura had somehow darkened the moment Yuri brought up the dare. But he chose to just shrug it off.
“It’s easy as always. So a virgin, huh? Okay. Let’s level it up! I bet each of you a thousand bucks, I’m gonna make that someone fall for me and have sex with me within...hmmm...I say, 1 month? Or should I say 1 week?” Taeyeon smirked to his friends as he said those confidently.
“Not so fast, Taeyeon. You still don’t know who’s the girl. But okay. No turning backs.”
“As if I ever back out of a dare before.” Taeyeon scoffed.
“Shut your mouth first dude and let us finish. Here’s the deal and rules. Be her OFFICIAL boyfriend for THREE months.” Yuri started to say their dare Taeyeon. Taeyeon raised his eyebrows with interest.
“Means, no flings, flirts, sex or whatsoever in between with other girls. ONLY HER.” Hyoyeon stated further.
“But make sure that at the end of the 3rd month, you have sex with her then do what you’re best at next. Break her heart.” Sooyoung added next.
“Interesting.” Taeyeon smile arrogantly.
“Ehem. Strictly. You shouldn’t fall for her.” Sunny finished.
“As if.” Taeyeon scoffed. “Whatever. Just bring it on. It’s a deal. A thousand bucks from each of you.” Taeyeon smirked. “So who’s the lucky girl?” Taeyeon asked his friends.
All of them smiled smugly at Taeyeon.
And Yuri’s the one to speak, “Jessica Jung.”
“Not so easy now, is it?” Sunny smirked.

The Lost Wanderers
III.               FAST RIDE
Forgotten Playlist; now playing: Holler - Girls’ Generation-TaeTiSeo
“Jess, what did you say? I didn’t hear you.” Tiffany asked over the music, sound of the busy streets and the wind.
Jessica’s still in a hard time trying to go back to reality, she didn’t quite comprehend what Tiffany asked her and what she actually said the moment before.
“Jess! McDonalds! Let’s go there! I’m hungryyyyy!!!” Tiffany exclaimed to Jessica with a slap on her thighs completely forgetting her question to Jessica, and that made Jessica glare at her for a couple of seconds.
“Yah! Look at the road! Do you want to die?! If you want to die, die alone! Don’t drag me with you six feet under the ground! I still want to—”
“Yah! Yah! Shut up now! Geez! We’ll go to McDonalds okay? Knowing you, you just want to avail their Happy Mealssss to get those Hello Kitty collectibles.” Jessica cut off her best friend’s ramblings. It will just take her forever to finish what she’s saying.
“Still the same old Tiffany. Still childish.” Jessica wanted to add but she chose not to. It will just cause another ramblings from Tiffany.
“Yupppp!!! They’re all pink! And knowing you, you will just eat everything that I will order. So stop complaining, you sexy shikshin!” Tiffany exclaimed as Jessica slowed down the car, gently parking it in front of McDonald’s.
Jessica felt again like her heart’s gonna explode, she looked from left to right finding the car she saw earlier. Much to her dismay, she didn’t see any sign of the car.
“Jessi! Yah!” Tiffany shouted to her already halfway to the entrance of McDonald’s.
“I’m coming, Tiff. Hiiish!” Jessica shouted back as she made her way to the entrance with an almost visible gray cloud above her head starting to pour rain just on her.
“Haha! Jess! I can see a thunderstorm above your head! Or a snowstorm, my dear ice princess? Hahaha” Tiffany teased Jessica as they made their way inside the food chain.
  ***
Taeyeon excitedly made her way to the drive thru of McDonald’s with a sparkle in her eyes and smiling like a little kid.
She ordered double cheeseburger, large fries and monster mcfloat. As she maneuvered her way in the drive thru, she felt again that weird feeling like her heart is doing jumping jacks in her chest. She got her food after paying. She smiled at the server before driving. Her phone rang, she answered through her earpiece.
“Hello?” Taeyeon said as she drove away from McDonald’s.
“Taeyeonnie!!!” The person on the other line shouted enthusiastically.
Taeyeon knows this voice as much as she knows her own nails. “Yuriiiiiiii!!!!” Taeyeon shouted with the same enthusiasm in her voice. “What’s up?” Taeyeon asked already knowing what the answer would be.
It’s been a long time since she’s talked to her best friend. The last time they talked was also the last time they both saw each other. And that was three years ago in Tagbilaran, Bohol, Philippines. They went there because the city is known as The City of Friendship, and aside from that, Taeyeon actually loved to tease her best friend for her dark skin color, she puns that Yuri is actually the Goddess of the Chocolate Hills that can be found in Bohol. Yuri being Yuri, rode on the joke and said to Taeyeon that she might turn her into one of them someday, but soon took what she said back. She pointed out that everything should be in balance, hence, the world needs milk and chocolate.
“You know, the sky.” Yuri answered nonchalantly. But then she suddenly exclaimed, “Yah! My tracker said you’re also here in Vegas! Meet me! I don’t take no for answers! Or I’ll bury your peas in a pod plush toys collection alive! Or I’ll take Ginger with me and you’ll never see him ever again!” Yuri warned Taeyeon, her voice laced with seriousness you’ll actually believe that she’ll do all of those she said.
But Taeyeon knowing Yuri, she knew the girl is just kidding. Besides, she’ll agree to meet up even without those “warnings”. “Who said, I’ll answer no? Let’s meet at this bar we always wanted to go to. You already know where. At around, let’s say, 5-ish? I still have to check-in.”
“Okay. It’s settled then. See you, Erika.”
“I miss that name. See you too, Megan.” Taeyeon said before Yuri hung up the phone.
Taeyeon made her way to the hotel. She knows that it is the same hotel where her best friend is staying at. SImply because, Yuri’s father owns this hotel. Thus, having her own room without even having a reservation. She’s a VIP in each and every hotel the Kwon’s have all over the world. She went to her room which is actually a penthouse at the half of the top floor. Yuri got the other half which is much better than hers. By better, she means, Yuri got the one that has the view of the sunset while hers got the one that has the view of the sunrise. Both best friends love the sunset much more than the sunrise. They have their own reasons.
After she settled her luggages which is not much, she took a look at the clock which reads 1:39 PM, and she decided to take a nap first. Besides, all that heart doing exercises inside her chest and driving actually made her tired despite her being energetic.
“Maybe feeling all that weird things that my heart did is really tiring. How does it feel to fall in love? Is it gonna be that tiring?” Taeyeon thought before falling asleep.
  ***
“Let’s go to The Lost Bar, Jessi! My friend once mentioned it to me. She said it’s so cozy there. I know you don’t like crowded places. She said it’s not crowded there even if they always have an open-mic nights. I guess people here just like loud and crowded places. Don’t you think? Sooooo let’s sing too?” Tiffany suggested to Jessica while showing to the latter her eyesmile.
“You really know me, Tiff. Okay. Let’s go there, but I’ll pass on the singing part.” Jessica said to the now frowning Tiffany. “Some other time, okay? I promise we’ll go back there again someday. Now smile my eye smiling queen. You’ll get wrinkles if you continue frowning.” Jessica added to make the frowning Tiffany smile again which she succeeded in doing. She may be got over her crush on Tiffany but the latter’s eyesmile is still something she treasures and always wants to see.
“Jessi! That’s a promise! Oh! The bar’s on the outskirts of town. It’s not called The Lost Bar for nothing.” Tiffany guided Jessica to the outskirts of town as if she’s the gps. It’s just that Jessica is actually a GI or Geographically Idiot. No matter there’s a map or gps, she still can’t find her ways most of the time. One of the reasons she calls what she does as wandering. She’s actually lost. But that’s the point, she wants to be lost. It’s complicated. Let’s not talk about it for now.
“Ugh! Jess! We literally almost got lost. I keep on saying left and you keeps on going right. It’s already 5:56, we’ve been driving for 2 hours in circles. I feel bad for Mercy. You have no mercy!” Tiffany’s still nagging at Jessica until they were seated at the back corner of the bar which is slightly elevated and has a good view of the stage.
Jessica’s heart is beating erratically as soon as she heard the bell of the door rings indicating new customers. She looked at the entrance but all she saw was a tall sexy girl with a dark skin color having an argument with someone she cannot really see. “Is she crazy? Who is she talking to?” Jessica thought.
“What do you want, Jess?” Tiffany asked for the third time and she still got no answer. She looked up from the menu and then she slapped Jessica’s arms. “Yah! You’re zoning out again! I’m asking you what do you want?”
“You know what I want, Tiff. Just order my usuals.” Jessica just answered calmly. Because she really wanted to calm her dancing heart too.
  ***
“You said 5! It’s already 6! I can’t believe you, Taeyeon. You’re still the same. Still always late. You’re kind and all that but NEVER punctual.” Yuri keeps on blabbering about her not having a punctuality in her system.
“Yah! Stop nagging. You sound like my mother. You’re actually killing your femininity. So unlike you. Unlady-like. Let’s just go there and sign up for our performance. You’re gonna perform with me. Play the piano or guitar, I don’t care, your choice.” Taeyeon stopped her nagging best friend and dragged her to the side of the stage where the papers you need to sign up to perform was located.
To their luck, they’re the only ones who’re gonna perform tonight. Yuri asked Taeyeon what song they’re gonna perform. Yuri decided she’ll just play the piano for the better feeling and for the good ambiance and to match the song and Taeyeon’s emotional voice.
Jessica looked at the stage and saw two people setting up equipments. One testing out the piano, the one she saw earlier, the one with a dark skin color. And another one that made her heart stopped beating this time. She thought her heart literally jump out of her chest and ran to the girl with the light brown hair and even more glowing white skin with the spotlight shining on her. She saw the face of the girl as she starts on checking the mic getting all the attention of the customers and employees inside the bar. Even those who are walking outside the bar were looking inside the bar now. She guessed the bar has an exterior speaker to attract even more customers with the ones performing on stage.
“Hello? Mic test. 1, 2. 1, 2. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Hi?” The girl on the stage smiled at her audience.
Jessica can’t breathe. Maybe Tiffany’s eyesmile worth a million dollars but this girl’s smile worth a million of diamonds. It totally lit up the whole bar or maybe the whole world. That cute little dimples on her chin is an addition. A side dish to the main dish.
Jessica never believed at love at first sight. But she thinks it’s happening to her now. This girl is just mesmerizing.
“Wow.” She heard Tiffany said from beside her. They’re both facing the stage and sitting side by side, by the way. “That girl on the piano is…wow. Just wow.” Tiffany is totally drooling over the other girl. Too much to Jessica’s pleasure. She glared at Tiffany for a second thinking it is the other one she is daydreaming to.
“Uhmmn. Hello? I’m Taeyeon and that is my best friend, Yuri. We uhh. We’re just passing by.” The girl with the light brown hair named Taeyeon shyly said to the mic, talking to the audience. Jessica’s now stunned hearing her voice. And she’s not even singing yet.
“I’m just kidding. We’ve been dreading to visit this place for a long time now. And now, we’re gonna perform here. A dream come true, indeed. And it’s actually our reunion of my best friend here. We just met uhmmnn…Maybe 15 minutes ago after 3 years. So yah. Uhmmn. I guess we gotta play now. This song is called Blessed The Broken Road revived by Rascal Flatts. Enjoy.” As soon as Taeyeon ended her speech, Yuri started playing the piano.
I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn’t see how every sign pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
(Yes He did)
I think about the years I spent just passing through
I’d like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You’ve been there you understand
It’s all part of a grander plan that is coming true.
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
(Yes He did)
Yeah.
Now I’m just rolling home
Into my lover’s arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you.
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you.

The Lost Wanderers
II.                THE JOURNEY BEGINS
Forgotten Playlist; now playing: Blessed The Broken Road - Rascal Flatts
Taeyeon smiled as she rolled down the top of her car. "This time, there'll be no stopping by, not until my heart tells me to. I'll trust my heart this time. Not my feet nor my hands that's on the steering wheel." She thought as she steered her way through the traffic. She turned on her player, she clicked her wandering playlist. Life Is A Highway by Tom Cochrane started to play. She sang along to the song with her smile never faltering. Her car is in good condition so she didn't have to worry and her brother takes the credit for it. She's totally grateful to her brother for taking great care of her.
And speaking of the devil, her brother's calling her. She put her earpiece then she clicked the answer button.
"Hello? Oppa? What?" Taeyeon asked her brother faking her annoyance.
"Nothing. I just miss you already, my baby sister Yeonnie." Jiwoong said on the other line with aegyo.
"Ugh. Oppa!" Taeyeon exclaimed after hearing her brother’s aegyo. She hates aegyo as much as nuts can kill her.
She saw a detour sign not too far from where she's currently at. Her heart suddenly skipped a beat and she didn't know why. She decided to ignore it and took it as nothing as she turned left as the signage said. But as she took the detour, her heart began pounding in her chest and she forgot that she was talking to her brother for a second.
"---just want to piss you off." Jiwoong said while laughing. "You know, I really miss you already. Always take care, Taeyeon-ah. You'll always be oppa's baby sister."
"Whatever oppa. Miss you already too. You'll always be my annoying oppa. Always. ALWAYS. Bye." Taeyeon hung up while laughing. She didn't give her older brother a time to talk more as her heart pounded on her chest as she continued on driving.
"I wonder why my heart is like this. It's a detour, not really my heart telling me to go left. Maybe it’s just the adrenaline rush for being on road again after a while." Taeyeon wonders.
Is it the the thing she's been finding for a while now? Is it just a coincidence that her heart skipped a beat when she saw the detour? Is it just fate's doing? Or is it really it?
***
"Tiff, wear your sunglasses. I'm opening up the top." Jessica said to Tiffany as she herself, put hers on her own. She opened the top of the car after Tiffany found her sunglasses and put it on her own after a minute of finding it inside her messy bag.
"Where are we going, Sica? I have an idea where this road leads." Tiffany slightly yelped as she held on to the door and dashboard for her dear life. But you can see the adrenaline rush she feels in her facial expression. She's enjoying it as much as she silently prayed that they will arrive in their destination without any scratch. The same prayer goes for her beloved car.
Life Is A Highway by Rascal Flatts started playing on their radio.
"And I have no idea where this road leads to. We are actually going nowhere, Tiff." Jessica said as she looked at Tiffany for a second to make a point and then she began laughing.
"Yah. Tiff. Your nickname suits you now. Tiff. Stiff." Jessica teased Tiffany as she saw the way Tiffany's holding on to the door and the dashboard making her knuckles turn white.
Tiffany just ignored her and continued with her prayers while enjoying the ride. Jessica on the other hand, began feeling a little pumped up as the light on the stoplight turned red. She suddenly felt butterflies on her stomach and bulldozers pounding on her heart. She then turned in front at the same time a Dirty White Lincoln Continental 4-Door Convertible with its top down from the right intersection road turned right taking the same route they’re taking. Her heart pounded even harder to her chest and her ears started ringing. The light turned green, a signal for their lane to go. And as if her hands and feet had their own mind, they started driving on their own following the said car.
Jessica focused on the driver of the said car and she noticed that it’s a girl with light brown hair and glowing white skin. Jessica didn’t even realize it that she was actually driving side by side with the vintage car until she saw a glimpse of the face of the girl driver. Her heart stopped beating the moment she saw the girl’s smile. Suddenly, the girl sped up and turned somewhere as Tiffany woke her up of her reverie.
“Yah! Jessi! I knew it! Welcome to Las Vegas, Nevada, baby!” Tiffany exclaimed excitedly.
“Tiff, I’m in love.”
***
Taeyeon turned right at the intersection. Her heart starting to beat louder and louder as she continued driving she felt like she’s gonna die of the feeling she’s currently feeling.
She took a glance at her rearview mirror and she saw a Silver Mercedes-Benz Roadster being driven by a girl with dark brown hair and a girl sitting on the passenger seat with a red hair.
Taeyeon stared at the driver longer and her heart stopped beating. She didn’t know why she feels this way as she stared at the girl. The feeling’s new to her and she can’t quite figure out what it is she feels.
"Maybe this is it?" She thought.
She didn’t notice the girl on Mercedes-Benz is now driving side by side her car as her attention turned to a yellow M that’s standing tall not too far from where she is. A smile made its way to her face as she drove faster towards her favorite fast food chain. She might be afraid of clowns, but who can say no to McDonalds?
Again, she just brushed off what she’s been feeling since the detour and only focused on the road to McDonalds.

The Lost Wanderers
I.                STARTING POINT
Life Is A Highway - Rascal Flatts / Tom Cochrane
“When will you leave, Taeyeon?” Taeyeon’s brother, Jiwoong, asked her from the entrance of her current room which is the house’s guest room. “I don’t like you here. You keep on feeding my kids your Gummy Bears.” Jiwoong added teasingly. Taeyeon’s been in her brother’s house for about 3 days now. It’s unlikely her to spend her time in one place. Let alone inside the house and just laying on the bed. Her brother know just how much she loves to wander since she was a kid. He watched her grew up as much as their parents watched her grew up. Sometimes, Taeyeon would just disappear in a bink of an eye and will be missing for hours. There’s also this one time that their parents almost report her as a missing person to the police. They saw her happily skipping while singing some random tune on a pavement on their way to the station. They reprimanded her, but knowing Taeyeon, she just laughed it off and hugged both her parents while telling them what she discovered while wandering.
Taeyeon is laying down on the bed listening to country music when Jiwoong opened the door and spoke. “Oppa! I know this is your house and I’m just crashing. But don’t you know how to knock?” Taeyeon exclaimed faking annoyance. “And you should be thankful. I don’t really share my Gummy Bears to anyone.” Taeyeon commented teasingly too.
“Aigoo. What happened to Yeonnie and Woongie time? Don’t tell me you’ve become an adult now?” Jiwoong stated as he smirkingly approaches Taeyeon who’s now sitting on the bed. “But to think of it, you’re still a kid. You still eat Gummy Bears as your lunch.
Taeyeon and her brother shares a great bond. As much as their father is Taeyeons hero, her brother is her hero too. They’ve always been inseparable. Until Jiwoong married her wife, Hazel. Taeyeon cried that day and even told Hazel that she will runaway with her brother. Of course, she is just kidding. It’s just hard for her to let her brother go. Jiwoong reassured her that she will always be his baby sister. Even those words don’t even need to be spoken. Taeyeon is and will always be his brother’s baby sister.
"Yah! Yah! Oppa! Don’t come near me. Or I’ll kick your ass!” Taeyeon said while backing away from Jiwoong. She knows what’s on her brother’s mind.
“Aigoo. My baby sister Yeonnie’s still scared of the tickle monster Woongie. Here I come!” Jiwoong said as he got a hold of Tayeon’s feet.
“Ahhhhh!!! Oppa! Haha ha ha! O-oppa!! Stop! Oppa! Ahhh!! Hahaha hah aha! Unnie! Help! Ahahahaha! Rox! Nash! Help! The tickle monster is hahaha killing me! Ahhhh!! HAHAHA AHAHA” Taeyeon screamed and laughed as Jiwoong tickles her nonstop. “Unnie!!! Helppp!! HAHAH AHAHA!”
“Yah! Jiwoong! Don’t kill your baby sister.” Jiwoong’s wife, Hazel said while pulling Jiwoong’s ear.
“Aw! Babe! Ouch! Stop! It hurts!” Jiwoong exclaimed while holding his ear teary-eyed.
“Ha! Serves you right!” Taeyeon merong her brother who’s still holding is ear. “And unnie, I’m not a baby anymore!” Taeyeon said while pouting.
“See. You’re still a baby.” Jiwoong commented. “You just merong me and now, you’re pouting.” He teased more while still holding both his ears. Taeyeon kicked him out of the bed with a thud. “Aish! Still a kid.” Jiwoong saidd then merong her from the floor.
“You’re both just like a kid.” Nash and Rox said as they entered the room and plopped down on the bed with Taeyeon. Taeyeon just hugged them both and closed her eyes. She sighed happily then smiled. “This is life.”
—————————————————————————–
“Stephanie!” Jessica shouts as she saw her best friend waiting for her at the exit of L.A.X.
“Jessi!” Stephanie or Tiffany, exclaimed as she launched herself to Jessica, engulfing her in a hug. “Why didn’t you visit me in the past? Why just now?” Tiffany asked accusingly. Of course, she knows why Jessica didn’t visit her in the past. Identity crisis leads to family problems and complications. Tiffany knew about Jessica’s confusion when they’re young. She proved her assumption when Jessica kissed and confessed to her one night when they’re at a party. They were 14 then. Jessica was drunk. She’s not. She can hold her alcohol very well. It’s just a puppy love. No hard feelings. Besides, Tiffany is bi. So no problems there. And even if she’s not, there still won’t have any problems. They’re best friends. They should undestand, comfort and support each other. “I thought you’ve already forgotten you have a best friend here.” She added teasingly just for the fun of it. “Miss you too, Tiff.” Jessica said sarcastically after 5 seconds of staring into space. Same old Jessica. Still sarcastic and still out of it. “Just help me with my luggages, Miyoung.” Jessica teased Tiffany with her Korean name which she doesn’t like.
“Ugh. Sooyeon, stop calling me by my Korean name. We’re in LA, baby! Call me Stephanie! Or better, Tiffany! Call me Tiff! Anything that has a link with my real name. Just not that Korean name. Ugh! Just be-” Likewise. Still the same old Tiffany. Still the loud and exaggerated Tiffany. But still her best friend. Nothing’s changed. They just grew by age and some physical features became you know, more defined. Neither their personality nor their relationship has changed.
“Yeah. I get it, Tiff. Stop blabbering. Help me now. Where’s that pink Mini Cooper of yours?” Jessica cut Tiffany or they will spend their whole day standing on the exit of LAX with Tiffany complaining about her Korean name.
“There! You’re the first person who’ll ride the passenger seat of Princess.” Tiffany said as if it’s the best thing to be proud of while they’re putting Jessica’s luggages on the backseat.
“You name your car Princess?!” Jeseica exclaimed. “You name your dog Prince and now you name yur car Princess. You really are something, Tiff.” Jesica said while rolling her eyes. “And as if I believe I really am the first person to ever sit here” She added as she sit in the passenger’s seat.
“You really are.” Tiffany said as she settled on the driver’s seat and started the engine. “In fact, I just bought this car the other day.” She pointed out as she started to drive.
“What?! What are you, a collector of Pink Mini Coopers and other Pink cars? Rich people these days.” Jessica asked disbelievingly but quite amused.
“What?? So you can collect bags, shoes and perfumes but I can’t? What an unfair world.” Tiffany stated exaggeratedly.
“Whatever you say.” Jessica said nonchalantly as she laid her head on the window and closed her eyes. It’s a signal of the end of their conversation.
Anyone would think that Jessica is just jetlagged. But Tiffany knows her best friend better. And she understands exactly why the sudden drop of the subject and why Jessica seemed so depressed and also the sudden visit. Tiffany sighed as she looked at Jessica in her peripheral vision and she is sorry for pointing out how really is the world.
Jessica sighed as she opened her eyes, her head facing the window as she looks at the busy streets of LA, she mumbled to herself, “It’s the world. And it’s life. Of course, it is unfair.”
—————————————————————————–
“Oppa! Jiwoong oppa! The camera’s all ready! Come here fast!” Taeyeon yelled at her brother who’s checking the car that Taeyeon’s going to use as she decided to wander again after a 5-day break in her brother’s house. The wanderlust is getting the best of her and she just want to get lost again in the pleasure she gets from wandering while listening and singing along to music. And just like her every farewells to the places she visited, the last thing to do is take a picture. “Opppaaaaa!!!!” Taeyeon screeched getting slightly annoyed for her brother’s delay.
“Taeyeon, just another second. I need to check every crok and cranny of this granny car that you’ll gonna use. It’s better to be sure than sorry. Besides, you’re my baby sister. I don’t want anything bad to happen to that baby face of yours.” Jiwoong said with much care but of course, he didn’t forget to tease her baby sister for the fun of it. It’s just how the way they are with each other. Caring and loving but also cat and dog. Just how siblings bond. Jiwoong actually meant each and every word he said. Every crook and cranny of the car, he checked. He even put two spare tires and a 5L gas tank on the trunk. “There, I’m done!” Jiwoong exclaimed as he approached his family. “No need to be so moody, baby Yeonnie.” Jiwoong said while bringing Taeyeon’s head on a headlock.
“Ahhh!!! Oppa! Stop!” Taeyeon’s glare sent daggers to Jiwoong but Jiwoong just laughed it off. “Besides, Lincoln is not a granny. He’s a gramps! He’s a HE!” Taeyeon sulked more. She doesn’t like it when her brother calls her Dirty White 1961 Lincoln Continental 4-Door Convertible. “Okay! Let’s take a picture! Hazel, hon, click it!” “Okay!” Hazel clicked the camera with a timer that’s set for five seconds and she ran to their side then everyone posed a silly one except Taeyeon who’s still sulking while glaring to her brother who has an arm around her neck and the two kids who both merong at the camera.
This. This is what Taeyeon’s been looking for. This kind of happiness, this kind of love. ANother place to treasure, another memory to keep. This kind of feeling, love is in the air, and he won’t stop finding, roaming, wandering until she finds this kind of happiness, this kind of love. For her own. “My journey begins again.” Taeyeon said in her mind. And so the camera flashed.
—————————————————————————–
“Where are you going, Tiff?” Jessica asked Tiffany as she packs to satisfy her wanderlust once again. “You’re going somewhere too?” She added while looking at Tiffany zippering up her bag.
“I’m coming with you, Jessi! Besides, don’t you need a car? Taking public transportation to wherever you’re heading to will just limit you to go to places. Don’t you think so?” Tiffany grinned as she made a point.
“Ugh. I know whatever I say and whatever I do, you’ll end up just tagging along with me. But we’re not…again, we’re NOT to use any of your pink cars.” Jessica said as she smirked at Tiffany.
“What? Whyyyy? Jessi! Don’t tell me we’re gonna use Mercy? She’s the only who’s not pink in my garage.” Tiffany exclaimed not quite liking the turn of events. As much as she loves pink, her only one car that’s not pink is the one she likes the most. But despite it, she never likes to drive it. That’s because Mercy is a luxurious vintage car. It is a 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster. And it’s engine is converted to a modern sports car. She won it at an auction for a price she doesn’t want to reveal.
Jessica smirked at how Tiffany looked. “Yes. Your only silver car.” Tiffany looked at her already knows what her next sentence will be because as much as she knows Jessica, Jessica knows her best friend very well too. And that includes Tiffany having fear of scratching her cars, overspeeding and driving a fast one. “And I’ll be the one to drive, Tiff.” Jessica added as she zipped up her belongings. Tiffany’s looks changed from a teasing one to a hopeful one to a dejected look to a look of horror in just the span of their conversation. “Or you won’t come with me at all. Your choice Tiff, take it or leave it.” Jessica knows that as much as Tiffany is a scaredy cat, she loves thrill and adventures. Thus, she knows that Tiffany will definitely agree as it is a known knowledge to her that Jessica is a monster when it comes to driving. Just the adventure she wants. Tiffany finally got over her fear for her lovely car as she said, “Let’s go, Jessi. You’re in!"
"Okay. Wait for me in the front, Tiff. I’ll get Mercy.” Jessica said while she makes her way to Tiffany’s garage. As she open the door connecting the house to the garage, she still awed at the sight before her eyes for she will never get used to the growing number of pink cars in the garage. She walks to the cabinet that holds the keys and fish out the right one. Namely, Mercy. She made her way towards the out of place car smiling. “Perfect for a roadtrip.” She hopped in the driver’s seat and put the key to the ignition. The engine uproars to life and as she drives towards the automatic gate, it opened itself and the met the sunlight. Jessica drived her way to the front of the house and let Tiffany settle in the passenger’s seat after the Hwang’s butlers loaded their luggages to the trunk.
“Step on it, Jessi. I’m on for a killer advnture!” Tiffany exclaimed as they speed their way in Hwang’s villa towards the main gate and out the city.
Jessica smiled as she looked at Tiffany through her peripheral vision. She can’t be thankful enough for the girl that’s with her. Her another sister. Her best friend. She should be satisfied but somewhere between the lines, there’s still missing. Yes, she gets what she wants when it comes to Tiffany, but as being her best friend since birth, it is a given. And for that, she will never stop looking for that missing piece to be put on a bigger picture, she will never stop wandering to find that piece that will give her peace. All she wanted to feel is to be complete with people she loves, and be accepted by those people who she lost on the process of her finding out who she is. All she wanted is to feel belonged. “Let’s rock this journey.” Jessica said with conviction. And so the car zoomed to anywhere.
