2. top 5 books of all time?
cue me forgetting every book i've ever read... don't hold me to this list i'm SURE there are some i'm forgetting and i don't have my library accessible rn. also not in order. but i do LOVE all of these!!
red white and royal blue is an obvious choice. bisexual poli sci major whore main character? he's just like me fr (whore is a state of mind). a TOTAL comfort read when i wanna just take a few hours to have an insanely high heart rate from thinking about alex and henry.
aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe is the first Queer book i read and so it will always have a special place in my heart. i re-read it earlier this year for the first time since high school and it made me soo happy.
the seven husbands of evelyn hugo absolutely BLEW ME AWAY the first time i read it and i can't wait to read it again when the time is right.
they can't kill us until they kill us idk if this counts bc it is technically an essay collection but i just. love music so much. and every single essay in this book is incredible and he covers such a wide range of genres and i was so engaged even reading about artists i don't have any interest in. it also contains the most beautiful essay about my chemical romance and death and love.
assata: an autobiography. assata shakur is obviously an Incredible writer and this was the first book that really introduced me to the reality of systemic racism and how much actual hatred the government had for black people in power. it's what got me really interested in politics. i read it for the first time in high school and then had to read it again in college for a class and it still taught me so much the second time around.
uh. so i like gay stuff basically.
3. what is your favorite genre?
hmmm i used to be really really into horror like just tore through stephen king books from like. middle school on. and i do still enjoy a horror vibe but mostly lately i've been gravitating toward queer ya romance.
6. what books have you read in the last month?
i am keeping a LIST of all the books i read this year. unfortch this month was very much finals lfkdgkj so i only read coming out to play by robbie rogers and one life by megan rapinoe. they're a memoir and an autobiography by two gay professional soccer players that i had to read for class and write my final on.
also working through dracula daily... obvi...
send me book questions!
