a bit late to this game by internet standards, but! your posts convinced me to get the new LiS, and i think the most flattering thing i can say about it is that despite being a lesbian, and despite coming in already attached to steph as a character, there was a moment in chapter 1 where i very sincerely considered letting the big stupid mountain man sidekick's big stupid mountain man sidekick romance play itself out

It's really a testament to how well the game was written that so many lesbians love Ryan Lucan. I also stuck with Steph on my first run but at some point during one of my replays I'll check out the Ryan romance! I think he and Alex are really cute together.

Honestly, the fact that it feels like they wrote both Steph and Ryan as friends first makes a big difference for me here? Steph is overtly very flirty, but it's clear that that's part of her personality so it never feels like there's pressure on Alex/the player there to commit. Likewise, the fact that Ryan's clearly interested but never puts Alex in an uncomfortable position over it was really appreciated. I also love how goofy they are in the bar scene with Diane! I love that there's no jealousy and they're just supportive of each other! If it had been an option I probably would have dated them both!
