SAKADAYS TRIVIA
Nagumo's tattoos in SakaDays 153 are actually quotes by Anton Chekhov & Arthur Schopenhauer.

Right arm: "Although you may tell lies, people will believe you if only you speak with authority." – Anton Chekhov
Rib: "The doctor sees all the weakness of mankind; the lawyer all the wickedness, the theologian all the stupidity." – Arthur Schopenhauer

SAKADAYS TRIVIA
According to Yūto Suzuki's comments, the "invisibility" ability itself is fun (to draw) and cool. He also says that in Metal Gear Solid 3, the stealth camo is his favourite stealth suit. That's what likely inspired him to create Natsuki Seba's invisibility suit.

SAKADAYS TRIVIA
Tumblr media
Chapter 98 of SAKAMOTO DAYS, titled "Tora Tora" (とらとら -translates to Tiger, Tiger) is actually a reference to a Japanese ozashiki game (party/drinking game) that geisha will engage in with their guests. Suzuki-sensei has creatively directed part of this chapter to be in such a way that Osaragi vs the maiko was, indirectly, playing this game.
Tumblr media
Also regarded as another version of "Jankenpon" (じゃんけんぽん) -Japanese name for Rock-Paper-Scissors game, this game requires a minimum of two players (guest & maiko), who will be separated from each other's view by a rice paper folding screen. A geisha will play the music and sing the Tora Tora song while the two players will also perform hand gestures or a small dance. Once the song nears the end of the "Tora Tora" bit, the players will emerge from behind the screen and reveal which one of the following 3 roles they've chosen to play:
Watōnai (Samurai, aka the hero) -> Player does the spear-stabbing pose
Old Woman (Watōnai's mother) -> Player does the hunched-over pose
Tiger -> Player does the crawling pose
How to win: Depending on the choice, Watōnai will defeat the tiger, the tiger wins over the old woman & the old woman will defeat Watōnai. You can watch an example of the game here. Naturally, the loser of the game will have to drink a shot.
-
During the battle between the two ladies, they crashed into a room where the geisha were incidentally already singing the Tora Tora song. The maiko then suddenly brought out a folding screen and placed it between herself & Osaragi, symbolising that they're players in the game.

As soon as the "Tora Tora" portion reaches the end, we see Osaragi used her buzzsaw & threw it long-range to attack the maiko which sent her flying out of the room. Later on Osaragi extended the cord from her buzzsaw to lasso the maiko & reel her back before she finished her off. From these two occassions, we can assume Osaragi as the Watōnai and the maiko as the tiger based on the Tora Tora song lyrics -"Wearing a gold headband and cord, Watōnai, with much effort, has captured a beast."

SAKADAYS TRIVIA
This may be a hit or miss but I strongly believe the painter assassin John Paichy, in chapter 137, is modeled after the real-life serial killer, John Wayne Gacy. The clown painting in the chapter might also have been inspired by Gacy's costumed clown persona self-portrait "Pogo the Clown".

Those who watch STAR WARS would probably know that the naming of the ORDER in SakaDays is most likely inspired by the Jedi Order -guardians of peace & justice in the Galactic Republic; which is akin to the roles & responsibilities of the ORDER members in their assassin world.

SAKADAYS TRIVIA
Before going to battles, Osaragi tends to perform her own superstitious ritual, that is to eat foods that bring good luck – such as Kit Kat (キットカット) and Katsudon (カツ丼). Reason being, they contain the characters 「カツ」 (katsu) in their names, which means "win" or "victory."

While Shishiba calls Sakamoto "Mr. S" in the Viz English translations, he actually addresses Sakamoto as "Saka-san" in the Japanese version.

The ceiling of the Shrine where Osaragi battled against Dump is most likely based on the Hakusetsuzanzenko Temple located in Kurobe City, Japan.

In the past, Gaku called Slur/Uzuki by his first name, "Kei" and he never used any honorifics. But now, Gaku calls Slur "boss." The only other person who also calls Slur "boss" is Uda.

The JAA building has a very similar design to the Beaver Building, located at 1 Wall Street Court in the Financial District of Manhattan, which was also used as the setting for the exterior shots of the Continental Hotel in the John Wick movies.

In chapter 102, young Kanaguri was watching the movie "Roman Holiday," which happens to be his favourite movie at that time. The scene shown on TV was an exact scene from the film.

The name of the JAA orphanage, Al-Kamar or アルカマル in Japanese, is possibly derived from the arabic word "Al-Qamar" -which means "The Moon."
Interestingly, Slur's/Uzuki's family name – 有月 (Uzuki) – not only contains the kanji character 有 (u) which means to exist or to have, but also 月 (tsuki/zuki) which means moon or month.

The Okutabi Science Museum is most likely based on the National Museum of Nature and Science located in Tokyo's Ueno Park, Japan. Even the Okutabi Station sign bear similar resemblance to the JR Ueno Station signage.
