Latest Salesforce Release – Top 5 features of the Winter ’20 Bundle
The latest Salesforce release is here and it’s about to blow your mind! With the Winter ’20 release, available worldwide October 14 onwards, you can expect innovative solutions across mobile with AI-power, so that you can connect to your customers more intelligently and deliver more experiences that matter.

Lightning Experience for all Users
One key highlight would be the enhancement and improvement of the Lightning Experience. The Lightning Experience allows you to create a user experience that improves workflow and productivity, and in turn, makes processes more intuitive and transforms your business. With the Lightning Experience made available to everyone, it’s no surprise that the Winter ‘20 release will provide a host of new features that are designed to accelerate easy adoption of this feature.
The Winter ‘20 bundle includes new tools that make the transition to Lightning even easier while enhancing several features we are already familiar with.
Here are the Top five features available with the Winter ’20 release:
Lightning Access to Recycle Bin
For users who were waiting to get this much-needed update, your prayers have been answered. If you’ve been apprehensive about switching to the Lightning Experience because you had to switch back to Classic to access the Recycle Bin your life just got easier. With this latest release users don’t need to switch back to classic just to undelete a record.
New Mobile App
Now get your mobile users working with Salesforce. The new mobile app not only reduces training time but also presents the familiar Desktop Lighting Experience on mobiles. The Salesforce Mobile App QuickStart gives you a glimpse of the new features available, lets you access the tools needed to optimize your Lightning pages and also provides your users access to the software.
Printable Views for Lists
Now, you won’t need to print your entire screen just to have a hard copy of your lists. The Printable Views feature will allow you to keep your hard copies simple by getting a list of and storing only the information you require. Click on the Printable View button and generate a condensed view of your lists and other related lists.
Count Unique Values in Report
Another new feature adding to enhanced function ability in reporting is counting unique values within your reports. This age-old Salesforce problem, that limited you while counting the number of accounts with multiple opportunities, finally has a solution. Just select “Show Unique Count” to count the number of different values within any particular column.
Start a Flow on Schedule
Flow is getting more and more powerful with every release. This amazing tool has the ability to solve complex business issues. Now you can schedule an auto-launched flow, and not just run it from record interactions, to start on a set date, time and frequency. Run Flows on a Schedule and monitors them easily with the latest release.

Gap Inc. announces the launch of the B2B face mask programme
Gap Inc. sells approximately 10 million non-medical grade face masks to businesses and Governments as the workforce re-opens
Gap Inc. has announced it has launched a B2B product programme focused on offering large organisations high-quality reusable, non-medical grade cloth face masks to supply to their employees as they welcome them back to work.
With the tremendous impact COVID-19 has on the world, the brand has leaned in and worked quickly to serve customers in compelling and differentiated ways. As employers look to provide their teams and customers with a safe and healthy work environment, Gap Inc. has leveraged its deep supply chain relationships and agile operations to provide companies in both the private and public sector with high-quality reusable, non-medical grade cloth face masks for their employees.
To date, Gap Inc.’s recently-launched B2B face mask programme has sold approximately 10 million non-medical grade face masks to employers, including the City of New York, the State of California, Kaiser Permanente and a leading consulting firm.
“In the face of this pandemic, the Gap Inc. team was able to quickly respond to a customer need for masks. Since then, we’ve sold millions of non-medical grade masks to customers across our brands,” said John Strain, Head of e-commerce and Technology at Gap Inc.
“We quickly started hearing from companies like ours who wanted to be able to supply their employees with the same product, so we’re excited to extend our high-quality reusable, non-medical grade cloth face mask offering to organisations that want to help protect their employees as they re-enter the workforce.”
Gap Inc. has already responded to the call to action by sourcing millions of non-medical masks and other personal protective equipment for the healthcare community, and the company’s family of brands have responded to the demand from consumers for everyday use, in partnership with medical experts.
The company’s brands are also giving back, donating over 200,000 non-medical masks to community organisations, and donating to causes that help those in need during this crisis.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organisation are still urging people to wear face masks or coverings when outside the home. For businesses that plan to re-open, Gap Inc. is offering a selection of non-medical face masks in mass quantities, starting at a minimum order quantity of 100,000 units and in a variety of colours and swatches.
To provide this service to companies, Gap Inc. used the Salesforce Commerce Cloud QuickStart for B2B Commerce solution and partnered with Capgemini to implement and service a custom website in less than five weeks that helps manage purchase orders and deliver information about the programme to businesses.
The article Gap Inc. announces the launch of the B2B face mask programme appeared first on World Branding Forum.

はじめに Heroku が oclif という CLI フレームワークをオープンソースとして公開したという記事を読みました。 Heroku CLI や Salesforce DX のベースにもなっているらしい。 どんなもんか触ってみます。 (oclif は (The) Open CLI Framework の略のようです。読み方がわからない。。。) oclif の特徴 手を動かす前に、どういった特徴があるのか公式ドキュメントに目を通してみます。 Features · oclif: The Open CLI Framework Super Speed コマンド実行時のオーバーヘッド(?)がほとんどなく、また依存パッケージもほとんどない 実行されるコマンドだけ require されるので、たくさんのコマンドからなる巨大 CLI でも単一コマンドの CLI と速度が変わらない CLI Generator コマンド一発で scaffold が生成できる generator がある Testing Helpers テストが書きやすい。 stdout/stderr を簡単にモックできる generator がテストの scaffold も自動生成する Auto-documentation --help オプションで表示するヘルプテキストが自動生成される ↑は CLI が publish されるときに README にも自動的に記載される(※最後で軽く触れる) (未確認)Plugins (未確認)Hooks コマンド実行時などのライフサイクルイベントや独自にカスタムイベントを定義し、そこにフックする処理を書ける TypeScript TypeScript と JavaScript 両方をサポート oclif 体も TypeScript で書かれている Coming soon: man pages, Autocomplete テストしやすく、ドキュメントが自動生成されるのはいいですね。 Single-command と Multi-command oclif で作成できる CLI には大きく分けて 2 種類あります。 Single-command とは ls や curl のように、コマンド自体は1つで引数やオプションを取るものです。 Multi-command とは git や heroku のように、後にサブコマンドが続くものです。 試してみる 今回は、自分が過去に Node.js で作った parse-salesforce-object という CLI に oclif を導入してみます。 (Salesforce 開発で使うメタデータファイル(XML)をパースしてよしなに表示してくれるという、ごくごく一部の方にしか需要がないやつです) この CLI は先ほどの分類で言うと Single-command です。 generator で CLI のひな形(scaffold)作成 Quickstart を参考に、generator を使って必要なファイルを生成します。 $ npx oclif single [コマンド名] を実行すと途中で色々聞かれるので適宜入力します。 $ npx oclif single parse-salesforce-object npx: 293個のパッケージを17.261秒でインストールしました。 _-----_ ╭──────────────────────────╮ | | │ Time to build a │ |--(o)--| │ single-command CLI with │ `---------´ │ oclif! optional components to include ❯◉ yarn (npm alternative) ◉ mocha (testing framework) ◉ typescript (static typing for javascript) ◉ tslint (static analysis tool for typescript) ◯ semantic-release (automated version management) 最後のオプションで yarn, mocha, TypeScript を使うかどうかは好みです。 インストールが完了すると、 [コマンド名] でディレクトリが作成され、その下に必要なファイルが揃っています。 npm install (or yarn )も実行されているため、必要なパッケージもインストール済みです。 $ tree -I node_modules parse-salesforce-object parse-salesforce-object ├── README.md ├── appveyor.yml ├── bin │ ├── run │ └── run.cmd ├── package.json ├── src │ └── index.ts ├── test │ ├── helpers │ │ └── init.js │ ├── index.test.ts │ ├── mocha.opts │ └── tsconfig.json ├── tsconfig.json ├── tslint.json └── yarn.lock bin/run を実行するとコマンドを実行できます。 $ cd parse-salesforce-object $ ./bin/run hello world from /Users/yamazaki/workspace/nodejs/parse-salesforce-object/src/index.ts! コマンドファイルの構成 src/index.ts がコマンド本体です。中身を見てみます。 ((1) ~ (3) は便宜的にこちらで番号を振りました) import {Command, flags} from '@oclif/command' class ParseSalesforceObject extends Command { // (3) static description = 'describe the command here' // (3) static examples = [ `$ parse-salesforce-object hello world from ./src/parse-salesforce-object.ts! `, ] // (2) static flags = { // add --version flag to show CLI version version: flags.version({char: 'v'}), // add --help flag to show CLI version help: flags.help({char: 'h'}), // flag with a value (-n, --name=VALUE) name: flags.string({char: 'n', description: 'name to print'}), force: flags.boolean({char: 'f'}), } // (2) static args = [{name: 'file'}] // (1) async run() { const {args, flags} = this.parse(ParseSalesforceObject) const name = flags.name || 'world' this.log(`hello ${name} from ${__filename}!`) if (args.file && flags.force) { this.log(`you input --force and --file: ${args.file}`) } } } export = ParseSalesforceObject (1) コマンドの実処理は run() メソッドに記述します (2) 引数やオプション(flags)はこのように static 変数として定義します。この後ここをカスタマイズしてみます (3) description, examples も同様に static 変数として定義すると、ヘルプテキストに反映されます 最後の (3) について、実際にコマンドを --help オプションつきで実行すると $ ./bin/run --help describe the command here USAGE $ parse-salesforce-object [FILE] OPTIONS -f, --force -h, --help show CLI help -n, --name=name name to print -v, --version show CLI version EXAMPLE $ parse-salesforce-object hello world from ./src/parse-salesforce-object.ts! のように、description および examples に記述した文字列がヘルプの先頭と EXAMPLE セクションに記載されているのがわかります。 引数を処理する さて、ここからひな形をベースに元の CLI としての機能を実装していきます。 まずは引数の処理から。 参考:Command Arguments · oclif: The Open CLI Framework 元の CLI では const argv = require('minimist')(process.argv.slice(2)); const filePath = argv._[0]; ... if (!filePath) { console.log(chalk.red('ERROR: You must specify a path to .object file.')); process.exit(1); } { ... }); のように、とあるファイルへのパスを必須の引数として受け取るようになっていました。 またその処理のために minimist というライブラリを使っていました。 oclif だと以下のように書けます。 class ParseSalesforceObject extends Command { ... static args = [{ name: 'path', description: 'path to .object file', required: true, }] async run() { const {args, flags} = this.parse(ParseSalesforceObject) fs.readFile(args.path, (err, data) { ... }) } 引数には { name: 'foo' } という形で名前を付けておくことができ、run() メソッド内で(パース後に) args.foo でアクセスできます。 その他のオプションは https://oclif.io/docs/args.html を参照するといいです。 必須かどうかもオプションで指定できるようになったので判定処理が不要になりました。 # 引数しで実行するとエラーになる $ ./bin/run › Error: Missing 1 required arg: › path path to .object file › See more help with --help フラグ(オプション)を処理する 続いて、いくつかのフラグを受け取れるようにします。 フラグとは -f foo や --file=foo のようなものを指します。 参考:Command Flags · oclif: The Open CLI Framework フラグは version と help 以外は static flags = { force: flags.boolean({char: 'f'}), file: flags.string(), } のように、 引数を受け取るもの: flags.string() 引数を受け取らず、boolean として使うもの: flags.boolean() の 2 種類あります。 また両者に共通して、{char: 'f'} のように char オプションを指定すると短縮形も扱えるようになります。 その他のオプションは https://oclif.io/docs/flags.html を参照します。 元の CLI には、-f xxx または --format=xxx オプションで出力フォーマットを指定でき、その選択肢は markdown, csv, soql のいずれかとなっていたので format: flags.string({ char: 'f', description: 'output format', options: ['markdown', 'csv', 'soql'], default: 'markdown', }), のように options と default を利用しました。便利。 # -f で許可されているフォーマット以外を指定するとエラー $ ./bin/run objects/Expense__c.object -f foo › Error: Expected --format=foo to be one of: markdown, csv, soql › See more help with --help ヘルプを出力してみる 引数やオプションを一通り定義した後で、 --help によりヘルプを表示してみます。 $ ./bin/run --help USAGE $ parse-salesforce-object PATH ARGUMENTS PATH path to .object file OPTIONS -f, --format=markdown|csv|soql [default: markdown] output format -h, --help show CLI help -n, --namespace=namespace namespace prefix (for SOQL format) -v, --version show CLI version EXAMPLE $ parse-salesforce-object src/objects/Expense__c.object | label | fullName | type | required | | ----------- | ------------- | -------- | -------- | | Amount | Amount__c | Number | false | | Client | Client__c | Text | false | | Date | Date__c | DateTime | false | | Reimbursed? | Reimbursed__c | Checkbox | null | ARGUMENTS および OPTIONS のセクションのところが、定義した引数・フラグの内容から自動生成されました。 今回 oclif での置き換えを試した CLI のリポジトリはここにあります。 PR は https://github.com/zaki-yama/parse-salesforce-object/pull/6 まとめと TODO 今回は oclif の導入手順と基本構成についてなんとなくわかったという程度ですが、個人的には npx oclif single/multi foo で scaffold から始められるのは楽 引数やオプションからヘルプ自動生成は便利 といった点が、フレームワークというだけあって良いなと思いました。 また将来的に Autocomplete もサポートしてくれるのは期待したい。 テストを書くところや Plugins、Hooks については試せてないので、今後の TODO ということで。 おまけ:Auto-documentation について Features#Auto-documentation には This information is also automatically placed in the README whenever the npm package of the CLI is published. See the multi-command CLI example と記載がありますが、自動生成したヘルプを README に埋め込む方法はドキュメントに記載がありませんでした。 リンクされてるリポジトリを見ると oclif-dev という CLI を使ってる っぽいので、これかな...? Salesforce のエンジニアブログにも記事があった。

The Latest In Financial Advisor #FinTech (April 2018)
Welcome to the April 2018 issue of the Latest News in Financial Advisor #FinTech – where we look at the big news, announcements, and underlying trends and developments that are emerging in the world of technology solutions for financial advisors and wealth management!
This month’s edition kicks off with the big news that former Envestnet executive Lori Hardwick is joining the Riskalyze advisory board, almost 2 years to the day after she left Envestnet (and the end of a likely-2-year non-compete requirement!?), and just as Riskalyze increasingly pivots towards a more holistic advisor platform that puts it on competitive collision course with Envestnet itself… especially if Riskalyze is paired with the next generation advisor dashboard that Hardwick’s own start-up AI (Advisor Innovation) Labs is reportedly creating?
From there, the latest highlights also include a number of interesting advisor technology announcements, including:
Tamarac launches a new QuickStart platform in an attempt to expedite the onboarding process for breakaway brokers who need to get up-and-running quickly;
Orion Advisor Services expands into compliance technology solutions to ease the burden of RIAs for both ongoing compliance oversight and especially the increasingly-frequent SEC examination;
RobustWealth launches its own Direct Indexing solution as Indexing 2.0 becomes the hot advisor technology topic of 2018 (following on the Model Marketplace buzz of 2017!);
Trizic raises a $10M Series A round to accelerate the growth of its robo-advisor-for-advisors solutions in the bank channel, building on its partnership with FIS.
Read the analysis about these announcements, and a discussion of more trends in advisor technology, in this month’s column, including “document automation” provider Conga acquiring Orchestrate and Process Composer to compete with LaserApp and DocuPace on the Salesforce platform with large advisory firms, former TD executive Tom Bradley joins the advisory board of MaxMyInterest as advisor interest grows (no pun intended!) in helping clients get better yields on cash than what RIA custodians typically provide, Advizr lifts out four Morgan Stanley executives to scale up its financial planning software solution in the small broker-dealer and insurance agent marketplace (where it’s about not just the software itself, but practice management training to help them transition for salespeople to advisors), and Blueprint Income launches a new tech solution aiming to deliver Deferred Income Annuities directly to consumers as a means to build their own “Personal Pension” plans with ongoing systematic monthly contributions.
And be certain to read to the end, where we also highlight the launch of Joel Bruckenstein’s new “Virtual Exhibit Hall” that aims to not only be a comprehensive directory of advisor technology but also an advisor review site of technology solutions, and a first look at 55IP, a new investment proposal generation solution (that also aims to help facilitate portfolio implementation on the back end)!
I hope you’re continuing to find this new column on financial advisor technology to be helpful! Please share your comments at the end and let me know what you think!
*And for #AdvisorTech companies who want to submit their tech announcements for consideration in future issues, please submit to [email protected]!
