⁣ An off-duty Los Angeles police officer, Salvador Sanchez, fired at a 32 year old mentally handicapped citizen and ultimately killed him and critically wounded his parents, Russell and Paola French. The shooting occurred in Corona, CA on June 14th, 2019 at 8:40pm. ⁣ ⁣ Kenneth French, the deceased citizen, is said to have developed a mental handicap in adulthood and had difficulty communicating. The LA officer‘s account was shared by his attorney who said he was feeding his son a Costco food sample when he was struck from behind without warning. The officer is said to have felt that he and his 1 1/2 year old son’s lives were “in immediate danger” and drew his concealed weapon and fired. All throughout the store citizens ran to the exits, as well as attempted to hide in parts of the store following the shots.⁣ ⁣ The original police statement at a news conference the same day shared publicly that witnesses reported to have heard an argument break out near the freezer section. However, the next day, a statement from the police department did not include that there was a verbal altercation and reported that the incident occurred “without provocation.”⁣ ⁣ Witnessed accounts that the family of Kenneth French have received contradict the story told by the police officer involved (these contradictions are unknown). Witnesses say 6 shots were fired in the store. The officer reportedly was briefly knocked unconscious, suffered a head injury and was treated at a nearby hospital. His son was unharmed.⁣ ⁣ LAPD has not revealed any more details, such as if the officer identified himself as a policeman before firing, but have confirmed the officer was the only suspect with a weapon. Salvador Sanchez "The Invincible Eagle" (January 26, 1959 – August 12, 1982) was a Mexican boxer born in the town of Santiago Tianguistenco, Estado de México. Sanchez was the WBC and lineal featherweight champion from 1980 to 1982. Many of his contemporaries as well as boxing writers believe that, had it not been for his premature death, Sanchez could have gone on to become the greatest Featherweight boxer of all time. 臺薩深化教育及水產養殖合作 共創繁榮

【大紀元2017年04月05日訊】駐薩爾瓦多大使謝妙宏應薩國總統府邀請出席總統桑契斯主持之第55場次「與人民共同執政」及第一夫人碧雅爾妲(Margarita Villalta)主持之「安居節慶」大型群眾活動。

薩國總統府並安排謝妙宏與桑契斯總統(SalvadorSanchez Ceren)及教育部長坎胡拉(Carlos Canjura)共同捐贈電腦設備給「一學童一電腦」計畫的67所學校學生代表。

謝妙宏並與農牧部長歐德斯(Oreste Ortes)共同捐贈吳郭魚苗給「家庭水產養殖計畫」14家受益戶；此外，謝妙宏也應邀參加「安居節慶」活動、代表「幫幫忙基金會」贈送與會民眾布匹，獲得熱烈迴響。

桑契斯於演說中感謝中華民國政府及人民與薩爾瓦多所維持之歷史友好合作關係，特別是支持諸如「一學童一電腦」等發展計畫。

謝妙宏應邀致詞強調，中華民國捐贈電腦設備支持薩國執行「一學童一電腦」計畫是為消除弱勢地區的數位文盲，因為數位文盲局限人民的成長及接觸科技資訊的機會，同時也限制其夢想、目標與發展的前景。

至於吳郭魚苗捐贈，謝妙宏指出，是為支持薩國致力糧食自主的努力，中華民國將繼續協助薩國執行水產、海產等養殖計畫，促進薩國產業發展。

中華民國自2009年起與薩國教育部合作推行「縮短數位落差中心」計畫，2014年起與現任政府再強化合作更名為「一學童一電腦」計畫，主要內容包括培訓資訊教師，設置資訊教室，提供科技教材與電腦設備，迄今嘉惠67所偏鄉學校、1萬6923名學童、572名教師，配發2234台電腦，另包括78組教育機器人教材、教具，成效良好。

謝妙宏指出，「家庭水產養殖計畫」的目的是為增加貧戶的收入及健康營養的新鮮蛋白質來源，受益戶也可透過學習養殖的經營管理熟悉技術操作及自產自銷，以達自給自足或可獨立進行銷售，提高家庭收入。本計畫每年輔導300養殖受益戶，提供高品質吳郭魚苗給受益戶，對於提升薩國吳郭魚繁養殖技術，改善貧戶的生活水準、健康及經濟能力有極大的助益。 （轉自中央社）
