13 18 27 for ruisi and darrash
YOU’VE OPENED QUITE THE FLOODGATES YOU KNOW
13. What’s your oc’s dream home like?
Ruisi: Sometimes when Ruisi slows down enough, she wonders her plausibility on getting a nice estate in the Balmorran outlands, or perhaps on Belsavis. Somewhere she can sit high and watch everyone scamper around below her, because she needs a power trip. Eventually she’ll set sights on Zakuul, but she has yet to find somewhere lavish enough. If all else fails - she will take the home of the Lord she served under as a Handmaiden.
Darrash: He desperately wants a nice, simple, homely little place on Alderaan. Aside from the sentimental value of that being where he and Vector first crossed paths and the mess with Houses Thul and Cortess, he really did love the sights, flora, fauna - he loved everything. He wants to be out in the wilderness with no one but himself, his thoughts, and Vector. You can’t get blackmailed if you live in the woods.
18. How does your oc see themself? How does this compare to the way other ocs see them?
Ruisi: Ruisi sees herself as a god and fully intends to claw her way up to that reality. She came from a slave pen straight into the manor of a Sith Lord, who saw her sensitivity to the Force and affinity for lightning as a wonderful tool for both their statuses; the Lord would find a pupil, and the pupil would find power.
She’s callous and she’s incredibly cold, even unfeeling towards those who hold her once-status as a slave. She’s gone as far as keeping them enslaved for her own ego as a reminder that she’s no longer the trodded-upon. So she thinks. She’s in denial that she’s perfectly played into the Sith ideal as a blind pawn, so infatuated with her bid for power that she’ll subdue herself to anyone she targets so she can plan her next usurping - she doesn’t let herself feel the doubt of “what if they overpower me” because she believes she cannot be overpowered.
She can and she will be the victor, at whatever cost it takes. It’s what got her started on defying Zash on Korriban to save Ffon, it’s what got her to kill Major Bessiker and overtake his position, and it’s what’s going to get her to the Eternal Throne - no matter how much lying, stealing, murdering, etc she has to do.
Rukota (Sorcerer) holds her in no high regards as a former direct rival for Zash’s attention and firmly believes she WILL meet her match and get herself embarrassed, if not outright killed. And he has some bets that if she doesn’t get killed, she’ll be right back as a handmaiden to some victorious Lord again. As Rukota embarks on some reluctant journey with Iminaran (Sage) to chase down another rogue spirit, Iminaran herself comes to terms with the fact that Ruisi is just downright insane. Too much girlbossing.
However, Alahnas (Assassin) has her money on Ruisi making it to the Eternal Empire, and THEN getting her ass handed to her. The sweet taste of juuuuuuuust missing your mark? Delicious fodder.
And then I have the rest of the Zash crew, whom I haven’t gotten to fully characterize out just yet but most of them are staring at Ruisi like :tails: and then choosing to mind their own business ….. until they all end up getting killed, some of them killed by Ruisi LOL
Darrash: Oh boy. Darrash is one of the most self-depricating egomaniacs you’ll ever meet; he knows he’s the best because he IS the best, and he has done things that neither the Empire nor the Republic could have ever thought possible for hundreds of years - in the span of months. He’s done everything from undermining a lazy Hutt fresh out of graduation to conquering Corellia .. each in a month + maybe some change. He’s the one who cracked Belsavis vaults wide open after the military couldn’t handle it for so long. And he does it without getting himself killed! You ask him to do a job, and he knows he can get it done, be it by the books or by improv. He might even give you a little complaint or a joke or ask you about his pay - but he’ll go.
But, he also holds himself deeply accountable for the cards stacked against him (loss of close friends and family as collateral, the brainwashing that he literally could not have known about until activated, the harm he’s brought to innocents before he had his turning point in morality, etc). When he was sold to the Empire as a kid and toted off to Intelligence, he only began to obey just for the fact that if they trusted him and he graduated top of his class, they’d give him the longest leash in the galaxy. He wanted that long leash so he could set out on rectifying what he’s lost.. looking for his lost siblings, maybe his blood family. Trying to create a fallback network of his own just in case he has to cut and run for it.
Much like he expects, many others see him as the prodigy he’s been hailed as. He runs into my Republic Trooper/Vanguard Samcas Reedjay while on Balmorra, having chased a lead to find his brother Gurr’os’olo (also a Vanguard); and Samcas watched as Darrash picked off every soldier around them one by one with downright terrifying efficiency, sparing only himself, Roso, and Lt. Jorgan. Once the situation was uh. lightly defused, Samcas learned to have some semblance of respect for Darrash. He knew his cause, he knew his objective, and he followed through. Darrash let the three of them go with clear passage back to their own turf as their escort, then disappeared. They’ll meet again.
Jedi Shadow Crozlaku has been on Alderaan her whole life, and naturally had taken arms to help defend House Organa from Imperial probing. She went head to head with Darrash in combat and, much to her extreme surprise and dire apprehension, was defeated. But not killed. She’d never met an Imperial Agent who’d rather spare an enemy than nip a loose end, but there was a truce sworn between them and she fell into hiding while healing. Crozlaku and Darrash will not meet again until the Eternal Alliance is established and steady, as Vector will call her in - announcing her as an old-adversary-turned-new-ally in the Republic. She won’t act as a mole or get Republic forces killed, but she’ll clear passage and divert vulnerable troops out of the path of destruction.
Nuvru, a big honk of a Zabrak Sentinel trying not to fall back to the Dark Side, met the sniper after his stint on Taris. Darrash had been suffering from Dark Corruption and had hit a point where he was starting to fear the effects it was having on his mind and body and wanted to seek a way to heal outside of the Empire. She only met him through the fact that her partner Vell’ahn (a Sentinel with a healer background) was able to look him over and provide help. She’s got some respect for the poor kid, given that he’s really trying to fight the Dark just like she’s doing herself. I’m not sure if or when they’ll meet again, but she remembers him fondly and hopes he’s able to overcome the Darkness. (And spoiler alert, he was able to fully recover by the time he finished his business on Voss.)
I haven’t decided if/when he gets to meet my other playable chars
And for two give-me characters, would be his younger sister Marrav Nealev (to-be Cipher Ten) and older half brother Johkel Nealev (Watcher Three). Darrash would not meet Marrav until his stint on Corellia, with her being the final Easter egg that the Minister of Intelligence left for him to make one final decision. Of course, he took her and kept her as far away from Razer as he possibly could. She is three years younger than Darrash and not yet graduated, but had been doing her field exercises on Corellia when her brother arrived and “stumbled” across her small outcropping. She’s listless without Imperial Intelligence, but was pleased to know that Darrash kept in contact with his team and had ways to find where the rest were dispersed to.
Johkel is one of the few non-modified Watchers within Imperial ranks, with Darrash not even fully recognizing him until the disbanding of Intelligence - at that point they’d been working together since Jadus’ disappearance, but had met the first time Darrash came to Dromund Kaas.. shortly before Darrash became Cipher Nine to begin with. That’s three years of close work before Darrash was even aware. Which, at least Johkel had the excuse of working for the Ministry of Logistics first.
27. How does your oc handle fear?
Ruisi: She becomes her own little fear of thing -> anger at thing -> more power self-circulating conduit. The more afraid she is of something, the more violently she’ll react to it! And by extension the lightning storm around you is about to get way, way worse.
Darrash: He tries not to let himself get to the point of fear, because often enough he doesn’t have the time for it at all. He doesn’t want to let it deter him from doing what needs to be done, y’know? But fear fucks with him. It gives him freezing hands and feet, his pulse goes haywire, all sorts of nasty shit. So he just swallows it down and says he’ll worry about the hypotheticals later. This typically results in him laying facedown in a bunk for about eighteen hours at a time.
